People keep saying this, but the truth is that SAG specifically has contractual language that forbids striking if the guild itself has not authorized a strike. They’ve been sending out emails reminding members that they MUST continue to work during the WGA strike. So what Mayim is doing here takes real courage.

A scab is a replacement worker who does the work of someone who belongs to a union and is on strike. Jennings is clearly neither a union member nor a replacement worker, so he isn't actually a scab. Good on Mayim for being supportive of the writers, however, if she had chosen to continue her hosting duties, she wouldn't be a scab either. At the same time, there shouldn't be ill will to Jennings for continuing to do his job. After all the WGA isn't on strike because of Jeopardy.

You don't have to be a union worker to be a scab. And your narrow definition no longer fits. If you are in a job where scab writers are used, you are also scabbing because you are supporting their use. So if the show is using scab writers, the other people supporting that use are also scabs.

@@amandacox4211- Omg! Ken Jennings is someone you “have no clue who he is”?!? 🤯 I can only assume that you have been watching Jeopardy for a very short time. Ken Jennings is a Jeopardy icon, who first became known by racking up 74 consecutive wins of the game. He’s appeared on the show countless times since then. His net worth for 2023 is estimated at 6 million dollars. Ken Jennings is far from poverty stricken. You’re right that $6 Million does look small compared to Mayim’s estimated net worth for 2023 of $25 Million, but he’s not in a desperate “guy still needs to eat” situation. Bialik isn't much of a game show host. The show just doesn't flow when she is at the podium. Unlike Jennings who obviously has looked at the correct answer on his card beforehand, when Bialik is doing it, there is a pause between the answer given and her saying Yes or No. She also seems quite surprised when someone finds a Daily Double. She just doesn't seem very well prepared in that role. Then she does that wiggle thing as if her panties have shrunk five sizes while she was standing there. I like Jennings in the hosting role, but I think there are others who might do a great job. Sam Buttery, James Holzhauer, Matt Amodio, and Buzzy Cohen are names that come to mind. Mattea Roach might be a good host. Austin Rogers and Julia Collins might also be great hosts. But in the meanwhile, and in this viewers opinion, I'm glad Bialik is gone for now, and also think the show is better because of it.
