GSX-S1000 - Lextek Header install - Sounds Amazing

In this video I removed the OEM header and link pipe to replace it with a much needed Lextek header.
Although this is not a How to video, I am taking you briefly through the steps to remove and install the new header. The steps should be applicable to almost any header install for this bike and other models.
I also welded a new bung to it in order to be able to use the Dynojet bund for the DynoJet AutoTune wideband. The header was mated to the M4 slip on exhaust.
If you want to listen to the header please watch the full video. If you like the content please consider subscribing since I will continue modifying and trying to push the limits of this and any other bike I acquire in the future :)
If you have questions about the installation or any general questions I can be reached at:

    My apologies. There is a section of the video where the music was louder than my voice when I was explaining my thoughts on whether I wanted to reuse the existing welded bung placement or if I was going to drill a new hole for the Wide band. I swear the audio was perfect before I uploaded the video.

    Hey Hissan I want to say is fairly common byou should be able to get it to sit properly by playing with it. In my case mine got a bit deformed because I applied heat when I welded it but I applied a bit of pressure u ti I was able to confirm both pipes had the same shaoe and it sealed perfectly. You could always buy a joint exhaust seallike PermTex to ensure there is a tight seal. Please let mw know if that makes sense. I reolaced my Healtech with a Dynojet push/pull quickshifter. Only upshifting no autoblipping I do rev matching to do clutchless downshifts.

    I will be installing the black widow header with my existing hotbodies slip on and k&n filter. Chris Moore will be re-flashing my ECU and he said that no O2 sensor is necessary. What did you do with the exhaust butterfly valve (servo)?

  • @ToModorNottoMod

    @ToModorNottoMod

    3 жыл бұрын

    I removed the servo when I replaced the catalityc with my link pipe. At the time I did not have my ECU reflashed so I needed servo eliminator from Healtech to make my ECU think the servo was still on the bike. Chris is correct, with the reflash you can eliminate the servo and will not result in CEL lights on the dashboard. You can leave the servo motor in the bike and only remove the servo cables or you can remove the servo motor completely. I have a video showing how I did it. Let me know if you have other questions.

    Good question. It depends. If this is a canyon bike for you, my suggestion would be to leave it and don’t lower it. I can ride my bike wherever, I lowered it 3 years ago and still commute with her this way with no ill effect. Although I have hit a few canyons with her like this you are definitely limited by how close to the ground it is and it can be a bit more stiff and bouncy if you hit potholes and what not. The good thing is that is reversible. So if you get tired of it you can always go back. Have a great day!
