GSX-S1000 - Dynojet Quickshifter Install & Street testing

On this video I installed a Dynojet Quickshifter on my GSX-S1000.
The sensor I bought is controlled by my Power Commander V.

Will that work the same with GP shift(upside down)? Be it 1up, N, 5down??

Yes sir but you need the push or pull style. If you buy one that is specific to a direction the reverse shifting one ironically is the pull style. Let me know if I answer your question.

Nice video bro, which QS works better for you in all honesty the dynojet or healtech ?

Thank you Satay. I think I mentioned before (maybe not sure) that they both are great and they both have their advantages. The Healtech is buttery smooth when set up appropriately for the bike and the use. It is so simple yet effective. The Dynojet requires a Power commander so it is more expensive. For my intended use I prefer Dynojet over Healtech only because when I was drag racing with the Healtech there were times when the shift took a few attempts to go in when I was WOT and that made me lose a bit of confidence in it and the Dynonet has been rock solid for drag racing. I want to be fair and say that maybe I needed to spend more time refining the settings at the RPM range when using the HT. But on the flip side I set up the kill times on my Dynojet once and never went back. If you only want it for daily use and not interested in tuning the ECU or buying a PCV I think gbe Healtech is great. Sorry for the long explanation.

Did you need a quickshifter expansion module for your bike, or were you able to just the power commander?

@@ToModorNottoMod Thanks for the reply, was just confused to exactly what I needed contacted Dynojet 2 times and had 2 different reps tell me different things. I made them aware I had a power commander one told me I needed to purchase a standalone unit or expansion module “because I need something to control the top half injectors” and another tell me I only need the sensor and power commander. If this is correct, what about the other 4 injectors or do they matter?

@@backwheeltee6518 No worries, more than happy to help. They have a standalone unit but that is not what I have. I have the following: 1. Power Commander 5 2. Up/down sensor with the rod. That's it. Since you have the Power Commander and the Commander controls fuel, you are only cutting fuel when shifting. In my case I am cutting spark also because I have an Ignition module on top.

Hi! Nice videos and nice bike. I am interested in installing the healtech you had before and I wonder why did you change it and what was the downside compared to the dynojet? Thanks

Thank you Jesús for the comment. Nothing wrong with the Healtech Quickshifter it was actually quite good. I just decided I wanted to have all my components talking to each other for ease of use and decided to change to the Dynojet. If I can think of one reason that the Dynojet coukd be better is the ease of use once you find a good kill time. On the flip side the benefit of the Healtech is that it is a standalone module and you don't need anything else to have a working Quickshifter. Also the app is good. Last comment is that I actually have it installes on my GSX-R750 because it uses the same plugs.

How did you route the wire to avoid the chain?

  • @ToModorNottoMod

The cable slack is ziptied to the sensor and then I routed the cable through the back of the frame following two exiating holes in the frame that give you access to the subframe/tail area. If this makes no sense ill be happy to show you pics. Email me: tomodornottomod@gmail.com
