    On Guitar Center site it has two separate listings of G2655Ts; one of them (red one) says series wired pickups; others (wood, grey, blue colors) says parallel. Accurate? They have two versions of wiring? (series would be mellower, softer I understand). Sometimes GC info is clearly not correct (e.g. guitar shows 21 frets and text says 22 frets 🤪). So who knows about this? Nothing on Gretsch site I could find!

    Soundgarden and Foo Fighters songs sound best on my Gretsch’s, and of course I go for those every time I want to nail the perfect AC/DC tone. It’s amazing what one of these with a clean Marshall tone can get pretty gnarly sounding with nothing more than just a little more aggressive picking attack.

    when I saw the price I was stunned. I was thinking now way this isn't less than at least 5 grand. I guess I'm new to Gretsch because when I see one it's at least 12,000. awesome tone , fantastic body and overall amazing price if I can find one that price.

    So tempted to buy one! Just wondering how the tuning holds up, heard mixed reviews about bigsbys, can anybody share some honest opinions having played this guitar with a bigsby?

  • @WesPaul2000

    @WesPaul2000

    3 жыл бұрын

    I haven't played this one but I have played several guitars with a Bigsby and I don't have tuning issues. As long as the guitar is setup correctly and the player isn't trying to do heavy metal dive bombs then it shouldn't be a problem. Even with a standard tune-o-matic bridge, as opposed to a roller bridge, it works well. I put them on all Les Paul style guitars and semi-hollows. It's all relative to the player I guess, but if the player respects the Bigsby then it will respect you back.

    I rerouted the strings over the rollar instead of under it. The angle from the bridge to the Bigsby's back roller (where the strings attach) applies enough pressure so that the strings don't slip out of the bridge sections but not so much that they get hung up on the bridge. After I did that I have had zero tuning problems when using the tremolo bar.

    Here's the real world low down on this guitar, it's fantastic really. Totally use able clean and dirty, it chews up really well. The bigsby is not good for dive bombing but it's not a khaler and as long as you understand that you won't be disappointed, great for subtle vibrato as demonstrated. Mine stayed in tune really well, better than my Gibson LP to be honest even with some big bends going on. The only fault I can find is the fret dressing at the body end of the neck could be better. Apart from that it's superb.

    It amuses me lots to hear most demo's of the Jr ( the real Jr doesn't have a Bigsby!!!!) this one is it's bigger brother and it was dreadful including being obviously a mile out of tune, this guy is a killer player and also thinks a Gretsch can only go in rockabilly twang gear like most other guitarists, -the junior is the shock of the century instead, it's a Paul slayer when played as it was designed to do instead....hilarious vid!
