you dont need peals just like an artist can paint in black and white but adding color doesnt hut anything its just different. i build pedals for a living but i only use 1 pedal live and its on 100% of the time, i say use what you need to get the tone you want and dont put others down for what they do use, i personally hate the amp he plays but he loves it, tone is just an opinion and in the late 60s pedals did exist he just must not known.
Great sounds and techniques - the MB helps too! BTW no judgement re mask wearers, but that mask is next to useless if it's to offer protection, also virus can enter through the eyes and ears🤕🤕

Wayne implies something here that gets missed a lot-perhaps because it’s such a vital component of playing/improvising that it almost goes without saying: the importance of rhythm/groove. Without that, all the notes mean nothing.

He's right, you don't NEED pedals. It starts with getting the best tones possible with just your guitar, its tone controls, and your Amp, and its controls. It also helps your playing to practice without them. But you might WANT some if you want to experiment with ambience, timbre and tone color. When used tastefully, to enhance what's already there, effects can be a boon.

We dont need pedals,but they make the work easier. This trick he does with the pinky is like somewhat a slow effect pedal. I saw a guy doing a wah effect using the 5 way , but this could tore the piece apart. Is to make the playing more confortable. I have a pedal that simulates a lot of amps,as the mesa boogie. Is a lot cheaper than a mesa boogie,too.
