Gooseneck Towing with the 2020 GMC Sierra HD: How well does it tow??
So Far I am please with how well the new 2020 Sierra HD tows with a heavy load behind it. I won't say the 2020 Sierra gets the best fuel mileage when towing with a gooseneck, but it is extremely comfortable and has endless power. Maybe if I deleted my truck, the 6.6 Duramax would perform much better?
What do you want to know about when it come to the 2020 GMC Sierra HD? I'll see what I can do for a video!
Also, make sure you are always within legal limits.

I read the entire Ryan's kzread.infoUgkxGqOCINHE0Z0E5gxzSdNi9NWGugRY5Hm2 Plans and was able to make a shed plan. Using Ryan's Shed Plans alone, the shed itself is great. Where I wish I knew more is with respect to ground preparation and foundations. Maybe that's beyond the scope of Ryan's Shed Plans.
I love your truck again congratulations on it and thank you Zack keeping everyone safe
That is a sweet truck, and looks like it will take care of your needs. I'd love to see a build series on that new building. Like others have mentioned, we really enjoy the regularity and the detail. Keep up the good work.
Yes. This should be a build series. Enjoy the day. Ray L
I really hope you do this one as a build series!!
I laughed when you said there's a hill up ahead, I guess that little grade must seem like a "hill" in Illinois. Anyway, do a daily build series again, I actually looked forward to sitting down after eating supper and watching them.

Love that new truck, hauling is always fun. Stay safe out there 👍🏼
I have had 4 GMC Sierras and all have done more than I expected, especially the 2001 I had pulled a 10k skid steer on the instate at 60mph with the cruise control.
That is a beautiful truck Kyle!
That truck is a beast. Good flat land you got there. Love the rear cam.

Dually trucks are the way to go for constant pulling but are clumsy other wise i find the back end of the dually when pulling heavy loads feels more solid and doesn’t feel like the truck wanting to shift sideways like i have noticed with a dually
Great use of technology in that truck!
Thank you for this bit of information. Great post!
For some things it seems like you're uncertain but, I think that's what is refereed to as after the fact sticker shock. It does seem like you are happy with the truck overall. It is a good looking truck.
Sweet features. Nobody can complain about that vehicle.

I just think you are cool. You share great info and you take pride in doing great work. Im an insurance man but my young son has more mechanical skills than I ever did and we love your channel. God bless you man!
When you put it in tow mode your top right gauge also shifts to trans temp
I like your video, and i love your truck. A few funny things though... downshift=upshift. Upshift=downshift. lol. No biggie, but was kinda funny. Also, not trying to be too critical, but i have the same configuration of 2020 Duramax, and it's tow capacity with gooseneck is 21300lbs. So i believe you are actually overloaded by 3-4000 lbs. (GCVW is actually 29700) But the L5P with the 10speed sure handles the load amazing.
Dead cat worked perfect. Nice upgrade to your equipment.
I have the same truck as you with the Duramax is you'll get better gas mileage after 5/ 6 thousand miles when they are broken.
Since you brought up safety at the end, I have a suggestion. When you were loading the blocks onto the trailer the guy helping had his hand on the blocks. If those fall for any reason his body is going to be right there. A piece of rebar with a hook on one end and a t-handle on the other is easy to use, will work great, and will save him should that ever fall or go wonky. Even a rope will be better. Anyway, just a suggestion not a criticism. Real nice truck. Looked and sounded like it handled that load with ease.
What mpg are you getting with no trailer make sure you do a build video that's why we watch all your videos man cheers Kyle and the GANG
That trans is inspired by the tractor trailer transmissions. It will skip several gears if need be. It's really a 7 speed with 3 over drive gears.
Kyle, still hanging out for the video of the completion of Greg’s house that you own. Was really enjoying that series but feel it left us hanging never being completed.
The truck is nice. How do you really like JCB. I’m trying to decide what to buy and like the single telescopic arm but don’t know what the negatives of the unit would be compared to other CTL’s.
OK Kyle---The truck may be bad ass but your father-in-law's farm is SUPER bad ass! Hats off to American farmers
You should take us out on the farm next time!
Now, that is a nice truck.
Amazing you can max or overload that truck and it doesn't seem to know it. Fantastic.
Wondering your dislike of the dually? You mentioned having 2 trucks, a dually would be perfect as a dedicated tow rig for your trailers. To each their own, but I love a dually for towing/stability.
Thanks for your good video and information. Have you ever tried out the tire sensors inside of your trailer wheels. I also have 17.5 tires on my fifth wheel and was wondering if these tire sensors would work over 100 psi Because in the programming mode on the dash it only lets you go up to 100 pounds cold I believe.
For sure Kyle. @4:45 I'm pretty sure none of us "felt" that shift. Had to laugh at that one. ;-)P
The fuel mileage will get better once the engine has broken in. It will take time though.
I just bought a 2020 Ford. The camera for the gooseneck won’t go on when I’m driving. Your right about not buying a super duty truck for good mileage. You got the weight your burning fuel .
Yet, no wind noise, thanks!
Did you ever hear from GMC about the tail gate step and bumper pull hitch? That is crazy nice to be able to pull that kinda load. That hat? Buy one?
kyle when you say down shift, i think what you mean is, up shift lol
Cool video. When is the next build series up?
Nice truck, insane prices on new trucks though. As for being road legal, you've got the tractor trailer license portion covered. What you may also be required to have is the truck registered with IFTA and placarded with the company name and gross weight registered to haul. They keep changing requirements, but I'd suggest checking with one of the companies that obtains permits for truckers instead of calling the motor vehicle department.
I'm sure Dakota Micro Ag cameras would love to collaborate
on today's video of R.R. truck and trailer lol good video did the trans temp raise at all accelerating up that hill?

Badass vid!
I'd agree on the Tier 4 plan, mileage is completely upside down with 7 or 8 MPG in a pick up truck Diesel. 10 speeds are better than 4 any day of the week. However, $85,000 for a pick up truck is insane ! My, all of that real estate between buildings...is it that affordable compared to being in town? We couldn't touch that much land to live on in our area.
The weather man
Great video you should do more vids like this keep up the great work

Btw the only reason I mention it is because you truly are an inspiration to me and just about everyone I’ve turned on to your Chanel. This has certainly not changed my mind concerning your integrity, I only said what I did because I believe you’re truly interested in what your faithful followers (and not scoffing trolls) think about the trend they see on RR Builders channel. You’re still the benchmark for professionalism at a job site and you certainly have merited any and all sponsorship you’ve earned. Thanks for all the hard work.
What if you fastened some wood 4x4's to the bottom of your concrete blocks with concrete anchors in counter-bored holes, or long Tapcons? That way it's a one-person job to load and unload, and you can drive faster since they won't be swaying, or possibly slide on the forks. Alternately, you could just add some wood rings around the concrete block to fasten riser blocks to the bottom, or use some steel banding
See you still have the Tele handler JCB on the site- are they still comping you or did you bite the bullet and buy it? I'm not a deisel truck guy, so I don't know much about the DuraMax except what I hear- and most of it is good. The 10 spd auto trans is as close to bulletproof as you could want- know one crazy who built a racing Chevy C10, a '68, 468 BB- with that 10 speed and paddle shifters; he cot the trans temp up to about 375 deg drifting and it didn't get any higher till he quit- he scared the crap out of me two turns in. I'm all better now and can't wait to ride along again! FR

Just an FYI... I ordered this same truck but mine will be a 3/4 ton, otherwise I will have all the Denalli upgrades like yours. My dealer told me though to first put on 500 miles before I start pulling? Did you hear that from your dealer?

One question I have about your diesel Jimmy: do you get a lot of diesel smell in the cab? Or can you barely notice that you're actually in a diesel truck? The reason I ask is that I rode around in a mid-1990s-vintage Ford F-350 with a diesel V8 about 20 years ago, and I found the diesel fumes did make it into the cab, especially if it was idling while parked.
