The McDonald's Grimace Birthday campaign is over. Widely celebrated (and memed) for Grimace's purple milkshake, the character has experienced a resurgence in popularity on the Internet. While Grimace's Birthday is officially done, what does that mean for his shake? Will Grimace return to future McDonald's promotions?

Hopefully the positive reception means that they'll start using the McDonaldland characters more going forward in future marketing. They felt like such a significant piece of 90s/00s pop culture that was stamped out in the name of putting forth a more bland, corporate brand image.

Yeah. Mcdonald's wouldn't be the same without the Mcdonaldland characters, which gives the fast food franchise personality. I'm still blaming on the clown sighting trend on the Internet that is the reason why Ronald got ditched in the first place.

@@John-mp4qc Yup. The clown apocalypse in 2016 turned out to be a promotion for the upcoming 2017 IT film. I don't blame everyone for having a fear of clowns, but boy, they did Ronald dirty with this one.
As Someone who legitimately tried the shake I must say it’s actually really good it tastes like a basic vanilla but with a berry after taste

I missed out unfortunately (we went to a McDonalds and it was still advertised in the drive thru, but when we asked about it they said they were out, but they didn't say they weren't selling it anymore so ig we were close?), so I made one from home and it tasted a lot like blueberry. I might have added too much blueberries.

My mom used to be a manager for a McDonald's location, she told this story that there was this one employee that would get bored and ask her if he can put the Grimace Mascot on. She would always say yes and there would be people honking at him dancing in the costume.

Seeing our purple buddy waving his hand goodbye to everyone is so sweet, after all the milkshake disaster that everyone has struggled for. Mcdonald's wouldn't be special if it isn't for Ronald and his friends at McdonaldLand.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they don’t ever do this again since 90% of grimace shakes were thrown on walls and the floor for skits. It’s a harmless meme but the employees were probably fed up ☹️

that grimace shake trend was just so funny, and as for the shake i am so glad that i got to try it, and it's so good!! And best part is that even if mcdonalds are not selling it anymore, we can actually make it ourselves. Just blend blueberries, rasperries, vanilla ice cream, and milk. Yea it may not gonna taste like the one in mcdonalds but at least it can be as close as the original 😊
