I didn't know how much I needed to see the Trix bunny finally eat some of that darn cereal! 😆 Oh man, that was satisfying. I loved the history lesson! This was awesome! That marketing team really knows what they're doing.

My best assumption is that the Trix Rabbit is like a metaphor for a Greek tragedy like Odeipus or Antigni. Why? Because all he wants is Trix. Just a simple cereal to devote his entire life to.

I distinctly remember voting for him to get the Trix in the 90s I was so, so worried he wasn't going to be able to get them.

Theory: The rabbit (imma call him Trix even though that's the name of the cereal) was a normal rabbit at birth, but at some point in his life was bio-altered to be more human like so that the cereal producers could figure out a way to make their product as addictive as possible. They couldn't do it on a person, so they mutated a rabbit into a cereal hungry maniac, who's only real source of sustenance is the cereal. Trix would go on to become so obsessed that he literally physically could not eat anything except the cereal, and would go on a crazed frenzy, similar to the cuckoo for coco puffs bird, who was also in development at this time. The government shut the project down and they changed Trix into the mascot, but he retained his lust for the sugary fruity berry cereal. It's played for laughs in the commercials, but every time he is refused a bowl of Trix, he grows weaker, and the number of days he has left dwindles ever so slowly...the only thing that is currently keeping him alive is the previous scientists who worked on him, who weren't just in it for the money, and they developed a special drug administered in the tiniest doses, that keeps his heart beating and his brain functioning. But they don't let it function *too* well, or he may get the idea that he doesn't have to stay in a life of constant starvation, unsure of your next meal, craving only cereal... *Thank you for coming to my Ted talk.*

That was in the Foundation of Youth, as well as Junior and Jeffy Goes to Prison! (Which Junior and Jeffy were buying a family-sized Trix cereal to the Brooklyn Guy and that is fine, but an Adult-Sized Trix cereal is illegal for children giving to adults).

He’s been driven into insanity because he can’t have his own cereal. What a terrible way to exist.

the fact is, if you fed a rabbit sweet things, such as the orange bit of carrots or cereal, it can kill them.

This is a question iv been, well questioning forever

I literally had a dream where I asked the Trix rabbit why he wasn't allowed to eat his own cereal, and he told me "Cuz then there would be no more commercials."

This would be a great show

"I’m sad because Trix are for kids…" And that’s the start of it all.

Also worth noting that in a few of the early commericals, the rabbit sometimes had a bite of Trix before it was snatched away by the kids. My favorite commercial was the murder mystery 2 parter where we had to figure out which rabbit on the train stole the Trix.

I can’t help but feel like that the Trix Rabbit should go out and make a autobiography on KZread about the reason why he couldn’t eat this Cereal.

This makes me think of the Trix speech from the Fresh Prince of Belair. I can still hear the kids taunting him, "silly rabbit Trix are for kids" why couldn't they just give the rabbit some cereal? XD I mean the speech had more in it then this but this is all could remember. While it is unfair, the rabbits efforts definitely stay in my head so the commercials do their job.

2021: Trix Rabbit is sued for consuming cereal meant for minors, appeals to court that he identifies as a human child.

It keeps the audience (super) engaged into the commercial, so they eventually might be (even) more likely to buy the cereal - and keeps in engaged into the cereal well, especially because of the colors.

I correctly predicted that the man in that one 90s commercial would turn out to be the Trix rabbit.

It’s the other way around for lucky the leprechaun, instead of him not being able to eat the cereal, it’s the kids who can’t!

I hope there would be a Trix commercial with a riot full of rabbits with the Trix mascot being the leader, telling everyone that they should be given the right to eat Trix. The company gave in, because they don't want to witness the worst, and all the rabbits unite and eat huge bowls of Trix, while children in cages watches in dismay, shedding tears of deep regret for not letting the rabbit eat Trix for all these years.

Amazing editing, great effort ! Its amazing and I also wonder where did ya get all these sources, images, references and media so old ! That's one heck of an effort ! How long did this video took to make though ?

With regards to that one he started off as a burglar's sidekick(and as a dog). It must be a holdover from when the character was a criminal.

When I was younger as a kid I always felt bad for him.

I was just thinking how Trix commercials worked less like an ad, and more like an actual cartoon, alá Looney Tunes shorts, and then the crossover with Bugs Bunny popped out lmao. Thanks to the fact that The Trix Rabbit actually has a goal, the commercials are more dynamic, specially in comparison with those of other mascots. It truly was a great marketing strategy.

Another moment the rabbit succeeded was in I think early 70’s commercials in where after kids say “Trix are for kids”, he eventually reveals a secret stash of Trix and says “sometimes for sneaky rabbits too”.

It's like the Coyote and Roadrunner. It's funny because you like to see him fail, but then you start to feel sorry for the coyote and want to see him catch the Roadrunner. But if he caught him then the franchise would end.

While one cereal mascot wants to gets his hands on his favorite cereal, another mascot is trying to get away from it. Like and comment if you get what I'm talking about.
