Here is another reason to give up cow dairy: my father and sister suffered from extreme halitosis all their lives. My father went to one specialist after another, He even consulted dentists. Both used lactose free dairy. I discovered it wasn't the lactose but something else in cow dairy. Once i switched them to goat milk dairy, the bad breath odor vanished entirely. Changed their lives!

Fun Fact: Jersey heifers actually produce a2 dairy just like a goat or sheep, but they produce more of it just out of sheer size difference. If you do not have access to goat or sheep milk, you may be able to find jersey milk or products instead. My son was lactose intolerant as a baby, and could only have specialty soy formulas. Turns out it was because of powdered A1 dairy in most baby formula. We purchased some specialty jersey milk once he was old enough to be weaned off formula and it made a world of difference. He is now able to eat and happily digest a1 dairy and cheeses after a good year of living off only the jersey milk for any and all dairy purposes. We eventually purchased our own jersey cow and started making cheese and butter from home for him. Also she is absolutely adorable and such a doll, so I am rather pleased to have her as part of our homestead. I would heavily suggest looking into jersey milk, though for hobby farms or homesteads, a few goats would be easier to care for than a cow obviously.

I haven't had any kind of dairy in 5 years after finding out I had Celiac Disease and a Dairy allergy. My mom said as a baby all I could drink was goat milk so I tried some goat cheese no reaction, but cow milk by itself gives me an upset, I found out I can eat goat cheese, milk, butter without any issues and it takes care of my stomach and makes me feel better if I do eat something I'm not suppose to. :)

Look for organic 100% grass fed milk from Jersey, Charolais, Guernsey and Limousin cows! That's really hard to find in most of US but they do exist locally in limited quantities. You're extremely lucky, if you live close to such a farm since most of them will sell their produce at their farm stand. I'd love to get my hands on some organic 100% grass milk A2 cheese and Kefir, but goat/cheese products will have to do while I look for a reliable A2 cow dairy supplier at reasonable prices. My intestines are thanking me for that, every single day! I thought all the raw & cooked veggies I eat were the problem of my bloating, before I switched to A2 dairy.

I stick to plain, whole-fat goat kefir as pretty much my only dairy these days. I can also thin it out some with water for use in recipes that require milk. Goat dairy is just much more compatible with human digestion than cow diary is (even the A2/A2 cow dairy). Same goes for kittens/puppies & dairy. I've found that rescue kittens/puppies that are allergic to or otherwise reject or have adverse reactions to cow milk, could still take goat milk from the bottle without issue...so I started using that with them exclusively while they needed bottle nursing. My cat loved her morning serving of goat kefir/yogurt & live healthily into her mid-20's.

I actually raise a few daiy goats and a few dual purpose hair sheep. The milk is great. I am not a milk drinker but my hubby is and I do bake with it. I do even sell some of the extra milk and cheese if I have any . What saddens me is people's misconceptions about goat products. They either dislike it , having never tried it or.....they had it from someone who didn't care for the product during handling. Also , store bought goat products have a distinctly different off taste . The fresh raw product is way better . Very few an tell between cow or goat milk. Once you go raw you'll never drink that poison they label as milking the stores again!

So hang on a minute, now A2 protein is "more higher quality and bioavailable"? We are talking about two proteins that are exactly the same except for a single amino acid. Essentially the effects are virtually the same. Both have opioid effects, both have excellent growth effects, both have antioxidant properties. Ever considered that some of these diseases might just be linked to something else in modern dairy? Maybe the hormones from dairy from pregnant animals, which is a relatively new phenomenon with the introduction of artificial insemination and batch breeding protocols.

I'd say prefer pasteurized. It ensures you don't have to boil the milk before you consume it. Don't consume unpasteurised milk unless you own the goat/sheep/cow.

The people in my family, including myself, never drink cows, milk, even the babies. Cows milk cause mucus in the body, and a lot of the children have allergies. The children in our family are healthy as long as they drink nut milk or goat anything except cow.

Hate to burst your bubble mate, but when talking about A1 and A2 beta casein, all milk contain a variety of these proteins which are essentially one amino acid different, and have very similar physiological properties. The milk of all mammal species has opioid properties, it doesn't matter if it's A1, A2 or A3 or A27, the casein protein in milk has evolved to be like this even human mothers milk contains these opioids.
