@@TechTesters should I buy it for gaming I been having hard time finding one.
I recently picked this display up to replace my 49 inch Ultrawide. Very happy. Was torn about getting an OLED but in the end I felt like I really didn't want to have to make accommodations to mitigate potential image retention or even worse burn in. I know many use OLED and don't have the issue, even still I just don't want to have to deal with it. This monitor delivers for my needs. HDR is great, 144MHZ pretty much as big as I would want to go on my desk. I have an OLED TV and yes they are fantastic. But I really dont feel like I am giving up all that much in image quality for PC use. This review helped me decide to give this panel a try. Thank you for the informative review it is spot on.

I agree. I have a 48" CX and it's annoying having to spend time preventing burn in when I'm trying to get work done. If you don't need a work+gaming combo monitor, OLED is fine for content consumption.

Great review, it matches my experience perfectly. My panel actually has great uniformity. I did have one dead pixel WAY in the upper right corner but it's not visible in day to day usage, just when pixel peeping. Glad to see more reviews coming in on this panel.

Very informative review. Despite being a little late to the review, I'm personally glad to see a reviewer displaying the rear I/O layout as that's something I look to help my monitor / TV decision making as the layout helps with looking at positioning etc behind the scenes prior to choosing a product. The monitor while not the best, isn't by far the worst. The colour accuracy is quite impressive as it the wide colour gamut :)
I love this channel!! Awesome review!!

I've has this since Spring and love it. I have my LG CX next to it. I only use the LG for console and movie watching. The 43" Is perfect while the 48 is just a little too much. Also, burn in has me worried even though it hasnt happened on the CX. Along with that, I think Linus said the burn in protection basically shades or shaves vibrancy on the oled. For those still wanting an oled, wait for the '22 model as it will come in a 42" size. I may get that if they can improve over the cx and c1.

Hey.. BURN IN.. thats one reason I went with Gigabyte.. I know OLED is sharper and colors yet my sons friend has the OLED one and is getting burn in effects. Maybe some leave it on no screen saver...
Straight to the point review, congrats. Despite of a big drop in price for it recently - $899 AUD, I'll skip buying it due to power consumption and other lower performance stats as shown. Still shopping around for either an OLED or a revamped Samsung M7 or M8. My concern with OLED panels is burn in as I'm unsure whether playing flight sims will have the same effect as working on usual stuff on pcs. Cheers
Excellent review. As soon I get enough cash I will totally get this screen and wall mount it in my room. :)
very good review👍 usefull info's!
this is a really good review for someone with my level of knowledge! Not too general since I do like to know a bit about the specs but not as super in-depth as most other reviews I've seen. Big thumbs up! I've just bought it for 550 in a black friday sale! I've done a lot of searching and 43'', 144hz, 4K, HDR, HDM I2.1 (so you can actually USE those specs) for 550 feels almost like I'm stealing. Hopefully I'll be as happy with it as I think I will be. yes Oled will always be better, but so much more expensive.
Great Nada 💜🔥
Recently bought one for $100. I know crazy right? But I was able to snatch it up from Marketplace. I dont think they knew this was a gaming monitor. They thought it was a TV. Love it. Thing is amazing and my 6800xt handles it fine. Speakers are better than ok especially coming from a monitor standpoint. I have it on level 1 and its LOUD! I control the volume from my keyboard multimedia wheel scroll but have it set on level 1. Only thing I find odd is the fact that they didnt include a better stand for it. But a VESA mount should resolve that issue.
Bought this monitor 3 months ago and use it for 10 hours per day. It’s been rock solid, and love the larger screen. The KVM is a game changer as I switch between desktop and laptop numerous times per day. The VA isn’t great for angles, but man is the contrast ratio lovely! Inky blacks compared to my old IPS. 10/10 would recommend for anyone wanting a larger 4K 144Hz screen

Outside of that, I echo what you say, so if you're only gaming or desktop use, yes it's great. But if you plan to use smart apps on it... hard pass, don't bother.

Nice monitor.. thinking about which should buy for my pc and this I think the one I wantd
I feel like this monitor is great on ps5, but when using as a pc monitor, the colours look over saturated. Also when I was playing re8 village on Xbox series x @ 4K 120hz. I saw colour shift around the edges of the grass and other objects. But apart from that the ps5 is a dream to play on. (All games) I’ve never found the perfect picture settings for pc monitor use. I’ve always found hdr to be too bright (blinding) and and colours to be dull. I’ve found setting (green) to be the best allrounder. Thoughts on this?

Hi, wich one is butter for gaming aorus or Samsung g7 43 inch ?
Hello, I am using KTC G48P5 OLED monitor to play games. I tested several games like Resident Evil 3/2/8, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. And I found the dark region is not so clear as the OLED should be. So I tried to set the "dark balance" of the monitor from 50 to 100, it got much better, BUT the bright things like sunlight is distorted. That means I can't get a natural visual from that OLED monitor by setting the "dark balance". So I want to buy a non-oled monitor like this one to see if it gets better. I noticed that this monitor has a similar function "dark balance" to improve the darkness clarity, but I'm not sure whether this feature also increases the overall brightness just as the KTC does. If it affects only the dark region, I think it's OK for me to buy it. Could you please take some tests on that function? Thank you in advance!
I have a 3080 vision graphic card, should I use a hdmi or displayport cable. For watching KZread and editing videos.
Hi great vid, does it have a crosshair overlay?
Bought a Samsung Neo G7 43" to replace my 49" Samsung CRG9 ultra wide, which I received a week ago. Nothing but issues, especially with the displayport. And no firmware updates since launch either. Returning that pos and ordered one of these instead. Doubt it has as good of a picture, but hopefully it is at least bug free.
Will the low bandwidth on this monitor really be a problem for gaming on ps5 in 4k?
I wanted an Oled monitor but I need it for web browsing on my pc... a lot. The auto dimming feature typically annoys the hell out of people (Linus) so I went for this Aorus monitor. I really needed a 43 inch size to replace my old 55 inch samsung, which was just too big for my sim racing/flight setup.
Awesome & Thanks :)

How do you use the OSD software? It says I need to connect a USB cable.
It's on sale right now and is actually cheaper atm than the 32" version. I'd get this but I just don't think I have a big enough desk for it.
if I use a 2080 11 gb TI will I get chroma sub sampling? I want to use it for editing. Cinema 4d and octane.
Question, does FV43U use RGB or BGR or other pixel structure, it may noticeable when used with spreadsheet, or text heavy picture? How good is it in terms of the sharpness and firmness when displayed text?
@TechTesters
2 жыл бұрын
It's BGR, so you'll want to use cleartype. I can't say it bothers me on this panel, while it did on the XG438. But don't expect this to compete with a good 27" 1440p / 27"-32" 4K IPS panel.
I just got this monitor a few days ago but i can not seem to find a good setting for it, the colors just seem off and in dark scenes the blacks either have bad gradiant or no detail at all depending on black equeluzer setting. Currently i am using hdmi on a rtx 3070, anyone have any advice? Still on the fence if i will keep it or not.
It is good for coding, office and casual gaming? I saw on internet that people are not very happy with text rendering.
What firmware version did you test the monitor with?

Hello does this supports Vrr and Allm ?
I own this panel. This review neglects to mention the one weakness this panel has, text legibility. This is a BGR panel, and despite statements to the contrary you'll find online, no clear type setting changes in Windows can fix the problem of text legibility with certain combinations of text color and background color. For example, if you're using Windows 10 in dark mode and go to Display Settings, the white text on black background will look fine, but the accent color text (mine is purple) and grey text will be difficult to read. The problem seems to be that horizontal lines get aliased out of existence, or at least become extremely thin. For example, the cross bar on a letter 't' almost completely disappears. Scaling UI text up does help alleviate the issue, but this is not always practical for some applications and diminishes the utility of having a large screen if the text is scaled too much. Otherwise, for gaming and HDR video, it's great.

Just so everyone knows. I have a 10,000:1 contrast ratio monitor my back up 1080p monitor lol. But I was able to see the contrast ratio on this monitor on the video. And it does look amazing!!! just incase your monitor is lower then 5000:1 you wont be able to see how nice it looks as far as color. I assure you its bad ass!!!! I do not want a OLED i hate them! lol and I do not want a IPS becuase of the bad contrast ratio! This ratio is crazy for a VA and the response time is amazing for a VA. im still window shopping but so far this just might be the best monitor on the face of the earth. Im a gamer that watches lots of movies some times and im a competitive pro gamer but also like RPG's and music creation. so if you are like me and like movies and anime and games this is damn good like she is saying ive looked at tons for like 2 years! lol.... And btw milliseconds are not going to improve your pro gaming skills lol. not in the slightest!!!!! I have one of the worlds fastes response times on earth I might actually have the fastest I am not sure? i birthed Shroud and 15 other pro players my response time is 0.07 lol i was clocked on FEAR 2 dozens of Times buy multiple people. Shroud was pissed lol when i proved it lolz he had a 0.68 at the time. anyways.... so yeah my respionse time is freaking nuts!!!! and i can tell you 9 milliseconds is overkill!!! I cant even get better with 9 a 9 millisecond monitor. lol that's 9 one thousandths rite? and i can do 7 one hundredths of a second and i might be the worlds fastest not sure. but pretty close. a new RTX card i think gets 3 latency... then you have your ping i get about 30 on the titles i play. so 42! lol that's nothing to worry about even for my 0.07 response time... not even close!!!! that would be 70 rite? which is unheard of. and the overall lag is 42... lol yeah trust me your fine doing pro gaming on this.... if you can get a response time of 0.04 then I doubt your even human lol. ive never met anyone that get anywhere near as fast as me. and i been playing pro for 38 years! so i say go for it if you can afford it! im going to start saving up personally doubt there is a better monitor out there. my other option is buying 2 monitors and a TV.... then be unplugging them and moving them around my living room several times a day.... or buy this... so really ill be saving money! that's what im telling myself at least lol.

I want the 43 inch LG C2 but it's currently $1400 and the C1 at 48" was just too big. Will be replacing a Dell 32in with VA. I love OLED but am to afraid of burn in.

@@nicoa2467 After having it for over a month I think it has a great picture especially with HDR enabled and after calibration but honestly 43 inch monitors are too big to use for long periods of time as a traditional monitor. If I was using this more so at a tv distance it would be great but I have ran into several instances of neck strain after about an hour or so of gaming. I also bought a new stand that has more points of articulation to attach to it similar to Dell stands but it's still a huge monitor for PC gaming and hard to see all the screen at one time.
Normally I am blown away by the beauty of the monitors or PC but girl you are stealing the show this time. Love those earings and necklace 😍 💕
Burn in is not an issue at all. ABL makes me anxious af. Fonts on WOLED looks like a shit. I'm going to return my LG C2 42inches "monitor" back and try this aorus
I wonder why Samsung is the only one to solve the age old issue of slow response times on VA. My Odyssey G7 27" looks as fast as a TN when using 240hz and no g sync or v sync at any fps range.

I'd agree, but I'm looking at the Samsung Neo G9 here and that has so many issues I'd rather stick with a bit slower response :P

@@TechTesters That's a pity. Not having any issues with my G7 thankfully.

The G7 is horrible when it comes to HDR (looks extremely dull and washed out on the PS5) and only has HDMI 2.0 ports limiting it to Yuv422 colors. Everything comes at a price I guess. Returned my G7 for a AORUS FV43U, once u have a 40+ inch monitor you don't want to go back.

@@Sincerity1993 It's a PC monitor i have no interest in consoles, if i did i'd use an oled tv. It does 240hz 10 bit full RGB in both SDR and HDR. I also have a 4k FALD ips monitor 1000 nit and although the G7 doesn't get as bright it does better in dark HDR scenes with no blooming. Overall the HDR in all scenes is decent and better than SDR and the response times crap all over the 1000nit HDR ips monitor that it's pretty much on par with a TN monitor. Overall the G7 is one killer pc monitor.

@@theoldpcgamer77 I use my Monitor for Gaming on PC AND PS5. So I don't understand why you would say it makes no sense to play on consoles on a Monitor. It does, because otherwise you pay twice the price 2k+, also not everyone is as rich as you or has the space for both a Monitor and an OLED TV. :) For example, I have my monitor in my office room at home, that's the only space where I can put it because if it were in the living room the cats would play with it and I like to be alone when gaming, not disturbed by cats or my gf. I don't watch TV, so buying an OLED TV just for a console would be a waste of money. Besides the HDR on the G7 was worse than SDR which is why I choose SDR over HDR any time before returning it.
I've decided to get this monitor instead of OLED and I am glad that as I used this as my full time main monitor (with WFH and all that.) The power consumption is still too bad though I thought I could have it at 50 watt with 200 nit but I am not too sure now with this video.

I have both this monitor and a 55" CX. This is better for HDR imo. The OLED just gets too dim and dull during bright scenes. I also prefer the HDR on this monitor to the X95J which I also bought as a main TV for the living room. It has higher overall brightness than the X95J but they are comparable in brightness but it absolutely kills the X95J in contrast. Seriously the contrast on this LED monitor is good that it's comparable to the OLED with that depth in the image that comes from getting solid black level. The X95J is a big letdown in that regard. And then the incredible brightness against the fantastic contrast gives it this really vibrant pop that not even the OLED can match. And, it has such a good price point when you factor in it's wide color gamut and overall awesome out of box color accuracy. The image is sharper and there is less blur on the oled but after a few minutes of gaming on this thing with the correct overdrive setting I usually get to where I can't notice smearing anymore. But if you want a display with really solid HDR this is where that awesome balance between great brightness and great contrast is at.
When I turn on HDR I don't see any difference besides the brightness being maxed out.
1k brightness jesus christ nada , this monitor has the power of the sun XD
Just bought this for 670€ - Upgrading from a 8 year old 4k Asus monitor i'm sure i will feel good about this monitor no matter what :P
you dont actually have to run game in 4k. you can scale it in game , in graphics card or on the monitor. now thats what you should have shown how does it handle 1080 upscaling. cirles and lines in macro photo
I've had this monitor for about 18 months and had no problems with it at all, the only downside I have is the amount of Heat this thing pumps put! Don't touch the top of it, you have been warned!
I love the concept. But I don't think the execution is there. If this had FALD and was $700-800 I'd love this. But I think $1000 is too much. Not being OLED is an advantage in gaming. But I don't feel right paying more than I would for a larger OLED panel just to get a 144hz VA panel without FALD. I feel like 144hz at this resolution is a wasted feature. The games that benefit from 4k can not be run at 4k 144fpz with reasonable settings. Also worth considering, a VESA mount that can handle a 43" panel on a desk is gonna cost a couple hundred dollars last I checked. And with a panel this size on a desk, I feel that would be necessary for the tilt adjustment.

If it had a FALD Backlight it would probably cost $1700, but that might actually be worth it. And VESA arms for desks are very expensive. Fortunately wall mounts are very cheap, even with some tilt.
I’ve owned it for about 2 years. Amazing gaming monitor. One thing I have to say tho, is that HDR looks horrible. Not specific to this monitor but I looked online in public forums and this seems to be a consensus as well. Next gen consoles with HDR on looks extremely washed out, on any monitor. Anyone know a solution to enjoy the HDR experience? Seems like a downgrade when activated. ( Everything was calibrated )
Thought about switching to a OLED
is it better than the PG43UQ?
