It really is great. I've got an LG CX, an X95J as well and the FV43U is easily the best HDR balance. The contrast is similar to the OLED but the high peak brightness gives far more stunning highlights than the CX and the you're at full screen brightness it doesn't get all dim and dull like the CX due to ABL.

Picked up this monitor for $100 from marketplace. Person didnt know it was a high end gaming monitor. Thought it was just a TV. Its one of the best monitors ive used and super happy with it. The speakers are actually really good. I wish the monitor stand werent like the TVs and had some tilt and swivel adjustment capabilities. With that said...a VESA mount can fix that.

So I took delivery of one of these this week, Tuesday. Thursday it's back with the supplier. That quick. I think people have to stop accepting and praising substandard products. I'll start there... What's my issues with this, well I had zero noticeable dead pixels, which many complain of, so it's not that. Its performance and quality related, and the reason for that is......... VA. What utter crap VA panels are. I've had 2 so far, different manufacturers and sizes, returned both. Viewing angles are terrible, and this screen was bright white in the centre and off white/cream in the left and right 3rd's of the panel. Even when I positioned myself directly in front of those zones to see if it was just VA bad viewing angle issues, it remained dull and off-white. I tried every conceivable setting, manually changed what I could and results were very limited. Including auto dimming on/off and all sorts of brightnes and contrast settings, HDR on/off etc. There were some things and settings that marginally improved visuals and the experience, but it's just so self limiting by the unit and technology itself. Performance is average. I got so much blur and ghosting on any fast moving scenes and in FPS games, very distracting. Not the wider picture so much, but if you look at your arms/hands/wepon for example when running, the top edges are just a blur. Sit on a truck in Squad or HLL, and the vehicles behind become a blur, the wheels very noticeably and the ghosting trail. In Squad, this monitor performed horrendously, notably in wooded areas, marginally better in more open maps. HLL, same engine, much better, but it should be consistent in any game. When this review says ghosting i's not noticeable in a game, wrong, it is. Certainly anything faster paced. Watching KZread vids, it was like watching old VHS videos. They say in life you get what you pay for. But this isn't a cheap "monitor" (it's a TV with TV being used as a monitor issues IMO), and in this case, you may pay a premium or get it at the current widely reduced price. Either price is a rip off in my view. if I was sent this monitor for free, I'd eBay it. VA is not good enough, nothing about this panel made me want to keep it. It's c...r...a.... You get the drift. For now, I'm sticking with my older 30inch IPS that suffers from none of the issues above or with this monitor. I'll take the quality of IPS over VA performance any day. The other thing, 4k gaming on a screen this size, felt like 1080p on an old 28inch, it just doesn't look great. It felt like a step backwards rather than a step forward over 1600P. Now, I either run my games at 1600P or DSR to 2263P, and HLL, Squad and other games I play DSR'd to 2263P on my 30" look so much more detailed and immersive. It's night and day the difference. Some may say sit back further, I'm 30-36" away anyway, its a monitor, a desktop use item. Sitting back further would also present another issue, text became unreadable, notably on icons on your desktop. Fortunately today I got my refund, I'll never by another VA panel monitor, unless there is some way they fix all the VA problems. The only thing it had going for it, was color vibrancy was a notch up from IPS, but that alone is not enough. My IPS is 60hz, but honestly, feels much better thatn 144hz on the FV43U, in quality terms at least. Im using a 3080Ti too, so powering it wasn't a problem. I couldn't recommend this monitor.

I built a PC this year, and it's fantastic, but I'm definitely bottlenecked a little because I've got it hooked up to my Samsung 7 Series TV. Picture looks great, and I've got no issues running games in 4K, but I'm capped at 60Hz. Problem right now is honestly space. I don't have room in my living situation for a desk and proper PC setup including a monitor. But if that changes soon, I've got my eye on the monitor now, so thanks for the review.

Hello, I am using KTC G48P5 OLED monitor to play games. I tested several games like Resident Evil 3/2/8, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. And I found the dark region is not so clear as the OLED should be. So I tried to set the "dark balance" of the monitor from 50 to 100, it got much better, BUT the bright things like sunlight is distorted. That means I can't get a natural visual from that OLED monitor by setting the "dark balance". So I want to buy a non-oled monitor like this one to see if it gets better. I noticed that this monitor has a similar function "dark balance" to improve the darkness clarity, but I'm not sure whether this feature also increases the overall brightness just as the KTC does. If it affects only the dark region, I think it's OK for me to buy it. Could you please take some tests on that function? Thank you in advance!

Watched a few of your videos and had thought I subscribed. Aparently I didn't, so I just hit that sub button. Have a few questions about this monitor. 1. Is it a big deal that it doesn't support Dolby Vision/Atmos 2. If you had to choose between this and a 48" C1 which would you recommend (Especially since in the US it's $1099 as of this writing)? 3. Is Dolby Vision really worth it for gaming i.e. is there really a difference in the picture? I've been on the fence about these two and I'm really not sure which one to pick up. Thank you, and keep up the great work & content!!!!

A lot of console games don’t support 4K 120 FPS or 4K HDR with 60+ FPS right now due to hardware limitations. If a game supports it, then you should have it as an option. If your monitor doesn’t have any defects, it definitely wasn’t a waste of money and you’ll get many years of use out of it.

Theres no point, this monitor is targeting people with 4k capable cards. If you were to buy this you'd want to be getting a desktop or have or get a new rtx card

I got the gsync vrr version by mistake. I run AMD, however running CRU clearly states my monitor is running freesync. The AMD control panel states I'm running Variable refresh rate. Are Gsync and Freesync the same thing now? Should I return the gsync for the freesync? I'm Running 3950x, x570 master, 6800xt, all components are liquid cooled to 24 degrees. even chip sets and m.2 are liquid cooled.

When I play on hdr1000 mode on ps5 every game looks too dark compared to hdr game mode, what should I do to make it look as good as u say it can look on hdr1000?

go into config setting and balance out color and options while in HDR to match the game youre playing. last of us part 2 with HDR takes certain color correction as its a very dark and grey game. certain games you mess around with the setting on and off

Accordingly to some reviews this monitor doesn't support 24p video, causing issues when watching movies and other 24p video content. Can you share your experience with this?

I saw this mentioned in only a couple reviews at launch of this. currently the hdmi 2.1 ports are listed as 48 gbps on the amazon link for this. So im not sure if maybe they had some kinda firmware update/product refresh or if they are just straight lying on the feature list.
