The AORUS FV43U Tactical Gaming Monitor Is A Monster! 4K, 144Hz Hands-On Review

Ойындар

In this video, we take a look at the Gigabyte AORUS FV43U, The most insane Gaming Monitor we've ever tested. It's a 43" Quantum Dot display at 4k 144Hz and it looks absolutely amazing!
We test out some 4K Pc gaming using the i9 12900K paired with an Nvidia RTX 3080TI, We also test out Samsung dex over USB C and the PS5 with Grand Turismo 7! I'm not a display expert but this is the best-looking monitor I have right now.

Like this perspective in addition to the videos from LTT, Hardware Unboxed, and TechTesters. You were the only one who showed and mentioned the included cables. The online retailers don't even show it. The other channels do mention the 24 Gigabit limit of the HDMI 2.1 ports affecting PS5 consoles, which you didn't, but most people won't even notice because they never knew the difference anyways.

Heads up if you have this monitor: you'll want to pick the right overdrive setting in order minimise overshoot and ghosting. According to reviews, "Balanced" is better for higher refresh gaming (e.g. 120-144 hz) while "Quality" is better for lower refresh gaming (e.g. below 80hz). Unfortunately there isn't one mode for all ranges, so you'll have to switch between them on a per-game basis if you want the cleanest image.

I jump from my work laptop to my own personal PC, you also have the side-by-side or picture-in-picture to do both at once. It's so huge. I will say this much, my work PC is not Windows 11 but my main PC is. Microsoft improved the "snap feature" so damn well with Windows 11. So if anything, because of all the screen estate you have, an aftermarket software to improve snaping windows could be considered.

I have had this monitor for about a month now. I use it primarily as a PC display. Web browsing, content consumption, gaming. I entertained getting an OLED but ultimately did not want to have to baby a display, worry about refreshing pixels, and deal with auto dimming etc... So I gave this display a try. I do have an LG OLED TV so I am well aware of the brilliance that tech brings with the black levels and contrast. I am very happy with this and decided to keep it. It gets way brighter than any OLED, great HDR implementation, display port and 144Mhz. 4k HDR videos look fantastic. Does it deliver the same contrast and black levels and uniformity of an OLED display? No. However it is very good in its own right and I truly do not feel I am compromising at all. 43 inch is perfect for my deep desk. HDR gaming on the FV43U is a treat. Unless you are sold on OLED I highly recommend the FV43U.

I owned this monitor for almost a year now and unfortunately like most people mention, its hard for me to recommend when an OLED provides a vastly superior picture. I have enjoyed gaming much more on my LG CX OLED tv compared to this monitor because of the better black and OLED superior handling of motion. The one positive is the fact it supports DisplayPort so if you are on an older GPU (Geforce 2000 series and below) it is nice to get 4k 144hz support. Still a good monitor though but there will be better options in the coming months with Asus and LG releasing 42 inch OLED models this year. I use this monitor now mainly for work at home and use the OLED for gaming.

Don't forget, those are 3.1, not just 3.0 ports... so, you could literally plug a small USB hub or splitter into one port, and use your Mouse and Keyboard on a single port. There's far more than enough bandwidth. Just make sure your hub has it's own power supply if you're using a gaming keyboard/mouse or anything RGB. Those devices do not like NOT having their own dedicated power.

Hello, I am using KTC G48P5 OLED monitor to play games. I tested several games like Resident Evil 3/2/8, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. And I found the dark region is not so clear as the OLED should be. So I tried to set the "dark balance" of the monitor from 50 to 100, it got much better, BUT the bright things like sunlight is distorted. That means I can't get a natural visual from that OLED monitor by setting the "dark balance". So I want to buy a non-oled monitor like this one to see if it gets better. I noticed that this monitor has a similar function "dark balance" to improve the darkness clarity, but I'm not sure whether this feature also increases the overall brightness just as the KTC does. If it affects only the dark region, I think it's OK for me to buy it. Could you please take some tests on that function? Thank you in advance!

Most people never really talk about 4k monitors but there's never been a better time to get a 4k monitor: Even with a modest GPU among the lines of even just a 3050 you can basically max out 1080p or get really good levels of visual qualities then use DLSS or FSR to upscale. And even on games or gpus that don't support FSR there's a steam injector that lets you run FSR on any game with any hardware (Although it needs to be reasonably strong to support going beyond 1080p but not quite 4k, hence my suggestion of at least a 3050) Plus if you value productivity, pairing this with something like display fusion (Or some of that functionality on Windows 11 natively at last) you can really use it as 2 separate vertical screens which are great for reading and coding, 4x 1080p screens without any bezels or any combination like that.

Since I got a quest 2 I've been playing flat screen games on it. It looks amazing but have to do everything through touch, like keyboard and mouse or controller. I really think this is the future as VR headsets get smaller and passthrough cameras get better. Basically you can make your screen as big as you want and have as many as you want. I was going to get a new monitor but what is the point? My crappy 1080p 27 inch is good enough to show others things.

You could go with 4K but 1440p might be a good middle ground because you will save more money/get it sooner. There's quite a few good ones that around the $400-500 mark. You go 4K get ready for another 200-300$ and not all of them will come with HDMI 2.1, so even if ya have a next gen console it wont take advantage of it. Unless your going for a ps5, in that case they don't support vrr and they don't support 1440p. Then definitely shoot for that HDMI 2.1 4k monitor

I think you completely missed the point of the KVM settings on the Monitor. You claim to use the Monitor via DP, but the USB-B port is set to HDMI 1. Imo, the KVM section is to set the USB-B and USB-C ports to the video-inputs you're most likely using. It would've been great to show if the USB-C port could be used as a USB up-link to another HDMI/DP port. ie: [USB-B for HDMI 1] and [USB-C for HDMI 2]

I spent a grand on this. Please watch out; if you turn on HDR, the unit can get scorching...test by turning on HDR, put a KZread video that is 4K HDR let it run. You can fix it with beta firmware off their website. Still, a bit warm, but man, without that update, touch the top center, and you can get free heating ;) Hopefully, it's not beta anymore. This was about six months ago. I came from 1440 34 in Ultra Wide; this a just too big....the balance you need for gaming and then for windows (Text and everything) doesn't look right. If you get this monitor...make sure you have a large desk... With width because between the space you have left between keyboard and mouse isn't much...so you will be sitting very close up, and the screen is too big to be that close. Just mentioning this because if you're going to plunk one grand on a monitor, make sure you have a desk setup. If you have an Xbox series S, this is a waste...the Series S has to upscale to 4k, and many games look horrible. If you have a PS5 or Series X, you're good to go! On the P.C, this rocks but please try the HDR with youtube 4K HDR...see how hot it gets; depending on when you get it might be my old firmware...the one from the unit that checks for updates doesn't look at the BETA. The BETA fixes the heating issue if you have it. I hope this helps someone!!!
