George Michael's was a crazy talent. When he sang "Somebody to Love " the Queen song at a benefit for Freddie Mercury he brought the house down. Not many singers can pull of singing a Freddie Mercury classic. George has some crazy pipes on him also. This is one of my favorite songs by him. He can either just belt that song out or he can smooth your heart by a love song. I know you would enjoy listening to more by him. He passed away Christmas day 2 yrs ago. My nieces and I were watching old WHAM videos by him when we heard the news, we were deeply saddened by his passing. George was a great ambassador to many charities that did not even know that he was the one who was sending them all kinds of funding, he did it anonymously. After his passing he left millions of dollars to all kinds of shelters. He even paid for one woman to go to college. George was like an onion, he had so many beautiful layers. The world could be a much better place if we all acted as selfless as he did. I think you would really enjoy listening to his rendition of "Somebody to Love" but you don't need to react to it, just check it out for yourself.

I love this song because you feel his pain. I can identify with him because you can lose someone that you dearly love, someone that really feels like they were apart of you, who taught what love really is. To me, that's only God-given. A blessing that for many of use only happens once in our lives. It's very well known that his music has touched his fans at very special times in their lives. That's the lo really is, he shared this with all of us! That's why he'll be with us forever! George, You Have Been Loved! Thank you!

I absolutely love this song. This song along with One More Try ties for the number one spot of my favorites of Georgia's songs. This song is filled with pain and so much emotion for the loss he experienced. George was never afraid to be very transparent and reveal everything to his fans. All of his music is autobiographical. it's what was happening to him at the time he wrote it that is so important and special. George showed a super soft side of him and he wrote this was completely a different undertone which is the bossa nova beat. I don't remember hearing this in his music before. This man could do everything. R&B, sugary pop, Wicked club/ dance music, erc.. He had several songs that had such a strong jazz influence. Try reacting to spinning the wheel which is super Jazzy and Soulful at the same time. I'm glad you've discovered him. Not in the US but in the UK and in Europe he is a mega mega star and still has legions of fans. I love him!

I remember when George Michael went to Brazil to visit the grave of his passed boyfriend. At the time the rest of the world refused to accept his sexuality, and played the shocked card when he was arrested in the park in America. This album, Older, is one of my favourites, as it showed a much more mature and free artist. Sometimes sad, sometimes in your face, but super talented. I love his voice and his words. Since Wham I’ve been a fan and he never disappointed. It’s very sad he’s not with us anymore but at least we still have the chance to get to know his work.

The “Older” album was written while he was recovering from a huge depression from the death of his mother and Anselmo. He’s been on the record for saying that unfortunately he had a lot of material to work with that inspired those songs on that album. It’s very autobiographical and that’s what I love about all of his work.

@@apchstyl1 Older was released in May of 1996 , his mother died in Feb of 1997 . George said that this whole album was about his grief and recovery of his loss of Anselmo and that Lesley, his mother, was a huge help in him getting through the grief. George was absolutely floored when his mother died and said himself that he just went into a deep depression from the back to back losses . George never forgot Anselmo and i do not think that he truly ever got rid of the grief of the loss of his mother , they were so very close he said .

"So the words you could not say , I'll sing them for you, and the love we would have made I'll make it for two, for every single memory has become a part of me. You will always be, my love..." just beautiful 💖

I'm a musician. This song has the right elements for groove. George Michael was a master creating vibe. No one will ever take that away from him. He composed his own songs and lyrics. This song takes you into a mental zone of deepness. Plain and simple. Then once in a while he would change up the chords. But, what has always made the British people so good at composing music like George is that, this is different and well crafted putting the focus on the strings and the slow deliberate tempo allowing for the feeling of the song to stick out.

''Jesus to a Child'' was came after his lawsuit of Sony and was a hit in US, same thing with ''Fastlove''. ''Older'' was mixed success, but the album did well at his debut because of two first singles. In US, ''Jesus to a Child'' was his highest single entry of his career in US charts, debuting (and peaked) at n.7. ''Fastlove'' received a lot of airplay in 1996 and was huge in US (reaching n.8 and spent four weeks in the top 10), but unfortunatly, ''Fastlove'' was to date his last US top 10 and was his last entry in US charts to date. But i think it's the incident in LA who it's affect a lot his career more and ending his career in US.

George could write like no other. His lyrics often were a puzzle but if you knew this artist you totally understood them. I find that a lot of people take a lyrics literally. Don’t misunderstand the phrase Jesus to a child until you hear the complete song. My interpretation is that the love he experienced was absolutely unconditional the purest and all accepting love with no judgments and was a total acceptance of who he was. Like Jesus would be to his children, no judgment no criticism just a total acceptance and pure love of that human being.

I really love his music so much, the man had a beautiful voice. This song was made for his boyfriend that died from aids. I followed him from when he first started out in the two boy band Wham and through the rest of his life. Really great artist.

When You are truly Blessed, experiencing True, UNconditional Love, Your heart knows... It forever changes who You are - and stays with You for Eternity... George Michael was always mature beyond his years - and he always sang straight from his soul. He pointed out (on several occasions...) that he was not religious - yet, from his brief relationship with Anselmo, it seems a spirituality grew and flourished... George Michael had a voice like no other (on so many levels...) that went forever quiet way too soon - still, it (and his extraordinary musical talent as a singer, songwriter, instrumentalist and producer...) will live on and inspire generations to come...
