My favorite golf swing of all time for its simplicity and repeatability. This is how to swing a club. I specifically like his leg action and knee position at address, hips open to target. But it's the fact that he's coming forward before he's halfway back and maintains balance and flow throughout that impresses the most. Perfection.

It is a swing designed for purity of ball striking. He didn't take a full 90 degree shoulder turn and the club didn't reach parallel. He probably wasn't the longest hitter but he probably didn't miss many fairways.

I've just recently found out about GK and fell in love with the swing. If my swing could only grab some elements from his swing and hit more fairways I'm golden. 🤘🏻😎🤘🏻

You are welcome. I love Knudson's swing the best and too bad there are not enough videos about him on KZread.
I don't save many videos, but this one is a keeper! If you read George Knudson's sole volume on the golf swing, "The Natural Golf Swing," any commentary is unnecessary. Everything he talks about in that classic volume can be seen right here. (Like Ben Hogan in his later years, George couldn't putt a lick, or he'd have many more victories. Watching Knudson putting in his Shell's WWoG matches is truly painful.) Thank you for compiling this.

The great Ben Hogan was impressed with George Knudson's golf swing and invited George to a meeting in Fort Worth to discuss an equipment contract . This was the late 60s and George arrived at the meeting dressed in denim with longish hair and sporting a beard (hipster fashion now maybe hippy then). Hogan was not impressed and reprimanded George for his appearance and ordered him to come back later properly attired even offering George to use his account downtown at his Taylor. No need George returned two hours later booted and suited shaved and hair sorted .The two men became very good friends thereafter.

As your probably aware Hogan was born 1912 and was of a very different generation to George and had little understanding of contemporary culture and also disliked casual dress beards long hair etc where as George away from golf was a laid back cool sort of guy but they had one thing in common talent to ball strike.

That short clip you are seeing asking about is the last filmed shot of George Knuson's 1986 video " The Swing Motion " filmed in Bermuda sadly under three years before he died. He was born in '37 so he would hace been 49 or 50 in that video. The credits at tge end of the video include "The Mid Ocean Club ". The flag on the green of that hole shows a #16. If you want to watch the video it is a gem. Just search " George Knudson The Swing Motion ". That video is uploaded on KZread. You will see that hole right at the beginning and end of the video.

Most people that swing the club fully are normally doing themselves more harm than it does good. When the weight shift is complete there, is no reason to keep swinging back. If you do, it's mainly with the just arms and that's when the problem starts with becoming unconnected 👍🏻
