Thank you very much, Mr. Whisperer! The other, and one of the main reasons I'd love *two* of them that I didn't mention is that I run a Clean/Effected dual mono setup whenever possible (currently an effected 2x10" & clean 2x12" Neo-driven cabs) unless stage/time constraints force me into just the 2x12... but with two NX2-212T dropping a fair amount of weight even compared to my current setup, the only thing that's stopping me from moving in that direction is the price tag! ;-)

Genz Benz continue their bombing run. Man, I'm so gonna get some of their stuff. I got a pretty good idea of the differences of this cab when compared to other Genz Benz stuff. The Shuffles are great... A review on that Mike Lull jazz bass would be beneficial, some other viewers seem to agree. I asked about that bass a while ago, I couldn't make out the letters on the headstock. I am surprised by a lot of things in this video and that weight reduction bit really tops the cake... thank you Ed!

Hey Ed, great showcase as usual. I currently have the Genz NX2-112T, which is plenty enough for many gigs, but I was considering purchasing a second 112T. Despite the wheels on the 212T, I found that with my aging body, I can manage the 112T more easily, particularly on stairs and lifting onto stages and into my car. Is there anything lacking from the 2x112T setup vs the single 212T? Thanks, Ed.

Great video, as usual Ed. I have a Streamliner 900 and a Shuttle 9.0 that I use with a Bergantino HS 410 cab and Bergantino HT112ER respectively for gigs and practice. Do you think the NX2-212T will deliver when powered by the Shuttle 9.0 (I think I know your answer?). My 410 Berg cab weighs about 90 lbs and we have 9 gigs this month and the weight adds up, even in the smaller clubs we play where I have to schlep the gear myself! Appreciate all your reviews, you are extremely helpful. PC.

Fantastic review - a Genz Benz Shuttle 9.2 & two NX2-212T (or previous versions) has been my "Dream Rig" for a while now, and this video is certainly NOT helping convince me that my current 2x10" & 2x12" Neo setup is just fine for me! And as a fellow Lull player, yours sounded godly at the beginning, as did your EBMM Sterling Fretless 5-string. :-D

Different ones... but all Genz. I use the Shuttle 6.2/12t a lot for small clubs, occasionally with the extension cab. I use the Streamliner 900 or Shuttlemax 9.2 with the NeoX or Focus 410 cabs. The Uber 212 stays at home mostly and is my studio rig for most demos. I also have a Shuttle 9.2 and Focus 112 stack... I have lots of choices - it depends on the size of the venue, and the style of music.

Mr. Whisperer, I was wondering if you'd tried the NX2-212T with any non-Genz Benz heads? As a Bassist with a Disability, I'm very much interested in the low weight, portability, small footprint of the cab (and I can only imagine if you have 2 to place in a linear stack!) but I'm very happy with my Preamps (SWR Mini Mo' & Interstellar Overdrive) and have no desire to make a change in that direction. I'd love to hear opinions on how they work with non GB preamps...

I just don't know of any way other than installing a ground to my electrical system in the house which would be a major under taking. Dude, I've been using this exact rig for two months on gigs, as well as the previous cab (NeoX) with the same head for several years.... it does NOT disappear in my experience. I have a basic question for you. I've watched many of your videos and Class D digital amplification seems to have taken over for bass players. What I want to ask you is, when you occassionally play a good MOS-FET amplifier, do you feel the old non-digital ampliers give you anything that you're not getting from the modern Class D digital amplifiers?

This works just fine. I have a frriend who uses 4 times 112''-cabs with an old, massive sounding TraceEliott Hexavalve. On big stages he goes 4x12'', smaller ones 2x12'', and on bar gigs he just takes 112'' with him. There is no "lack of sound" or anything. It just works fine for him. His amp goes down to 3 Ohm, so he has 8 -Ohm-cabs. A perfect match.

I set it in different places depending on the sound I want, and the bass I'm playing. As far as your buzz... don't want to be a buzz kill, but it might be a technique or bass setup issue causing the problem. The tweeter is just making it more audible. Turning down the tweeter won't cure that. Just a guess.

Thanks. While I've never copped any Jaco licks specifically, my jazz playing is no doubt heavily influenced by him. I also credit Neils Henning Orsted Pederson, who influenced my upright playing greatly... but bebop is bebop! Play it on upright, it sounds like NHOP, play it on fretless electric... sounds like Jaco.

Ed, I'm considering upgrading from my beastly 100 lb.Eden XLT 4x10. It has great lows but I hate the horn and the heft.I'm considering replacing it with the Shroeder 12/15, the Xsonics 2x15cf or the GenzB NeoX, all of which are about half the weight. Similar tone, but 112 doesn't sound like 212 for obvious reasons. The 600 sounds pretty much the same as the 900, just a little less headroom, but perfectly matched for a 112, or two 112s.

I concur with Ed's comment. Both the original neo 212 and the uber 212 (which I own and use live) have insane amounts of punch. I had an old SWR rig with a 4x10 and 1x15 setup, and with a little shuttle 6.0 and the uber 212, I can get equivalent volume with a better, more balanced sound than the SWR rig (personal taste there, though). I'm not saying you're wrong, just that the gear is capable, but perhaps not a great compliment for your particular instrument or style.

Not to say there IS no difference... but I can't pinpoint anything, and I'm not technical enough to understand the what and why. Bottom line is my 900 watt Class D amps have never not been loud enough for anything I've ever had to do.
