I Wish I Owned These // Genzler Bass Array 2 Cabinets

Музыка

The new BA2-210-3STR (straight version) is identical to the original straight cabinet design, and now with all new Italian-designed premium Neodymium loudspeakers advances the Bass Array’s widely accepted unique approach to bass instrument loudspeaker reproduction. Overall tonal characteristics include defined, deep, broad lows, smooth mid-range character, seamlessly transitioning to extended top-end clarity.
The innovative Series 2 Bass Array design blends the benefits of all new Italian-designed speakers - a 15” neodymium woofer in a vented bass reflex design with the performance and pattern control of a 4 x 3” neodymium cone-driver line array element. Additionally, the placement of the Line Array in front of the 15” woofer further provides a type of “single point source” projection-think of it as concentric speakers, one inside of the other, in the same linear plane. Also due to line array principles the all-important mid and high frequencies have a much wider horizontal dispersion with a more controlled vertical pattern.

Great video. Thanks for doing the time and editing. I can't even imagine. But it was very thorough. I appreciate that. I was surprised the G3 didn't make it into the bass test line up. That is such a cool bass. I'm working on getting one. This cab setup I believe is the same one that Nathan Navarro uses. Anyway. I'm a huge fan of the 10's. But as of the last few years I did add a single 15 just to warm it up. I also play a wide variety of genre's and 50's to 90's rock. So I'm liking the versatility. I play thru a GK 700RB. I really like the, imo, honest tone that it gives. Anyway. Congrats on a really good video. I was considering these and I've been waiting for a good demo of these cabs. Answered all my questions. ✌️😎🤟

Good demo and yes Jeff's stuff is absolutely top notch (I own a good amount of his gear). One thing to notice, for those who are "new" to Genzler is that Jeff former company was Genz-Benz. Only 'critic' on your demo is I wish there was more use/demonstration with finger technique and not only pick style!

I've been using the 800 for years now, combined with a Barefaced BB2. If I could change anything, I'd have the gain channel add a bit more growl. Apart from that, it's perfect

I am running a Super Bassman through the gen(1) 410-3 array and I love this thing. I am wondering if my Super Bassman has any issues or if it's one of my pedals, because I can't seem to downtune and get the same tight chords whenever I play the bottom 2 strings. It's oddd. But hitting individual notes, this thing cracked my window.

Hey fellow bassists! Two parter… First: Anyone got thoughts on the Fender Rumble 500? I’ve had this amp for a few years now, and I think it’s a great amp, but I just don’t know how to eq it properly. Second: How do I eq it properly?

I owned the Rumble 500 ver3. Bought it new maybe 2-3 yrs or so ago. Very nice dependable amp, plenty of power. I never could get the tone I wanted, so gave it to my son and bought a Hartke HD 500. Happy now with my Hartke.

If you’re not looking for anything and you’re happy with what you got the comparison is irrelevant. The TE stuff is good but Genzler tone is very different and not bad but very different.

Probably wasting my breath but here is my rationale anyway... EMG has been my favorite pickup manufacturer for years and since about 2017, it's been a goal of mine to have "The Bass Channel powered by EMG" in one way or another. I'm not quite at the desired level of endorsement yet but I'm sure I'll get there. Our "Core 4" basses (P, J, PJ, Stingray) all have passive EMGs. The reason, at least for the P, J, and PJ are that they're relatively consistent from shape to shape in that the wind, magnets, output, etc don't vary too drastically, leaving the tonal differences to shape and placement. The other basses have EMGs for a combination of my obsession with consistency and/or having a "collector mindset" mixed with being familiar with how they respond, better allowing me to dial in the product we're actually showcasing. If we're talking about straight passive, the tone for any given pickup shape/style doesn't differ THAT dramatically. I mean, it does enough to warrant there being countless manufacturers making pickups, of course, but most of the time, a passive P pickup sounds like a passive P pickup. It's like ordering a cheese pizza from 30 different restaurants. I like the way EMG "seasons" their tone (as silly as this analogy is turning out to be) but that doesn't mean it sounds nothing like your passive P pickup. A lot of other cynical commenters like to believe that I get paid buckets of cash for using a given product or that I'm trying to make you buy them so I can Scrooge McDuck it into a pool of sweet commission coins. The truth is I just like it. Simple as that. I also happen to like TASCAM and use their stuff almost exclusively in a recording environment.

@@TheBassChannelwhat I find interesting is that the basses still sound like themselves with the EMGs in them. The spector and stingray had punch and clarity, the P bass had its classic thump and the Gibsons were muddy garbage as usual. I don't think having all EMGs takes away from these demos at all

Ughhhh....this is not a guitar cabinet demo! Why do bass players keep doing this? Okay, sure, copy people, but guitarist? Putting a directional mic that close to a bass speaker cabinet is pointless, as it will only pic up the frequencies that are come a function of the short distance (inches) involved. Whatever bass response your mics do record they pickup only indirectly and off axis, and a function of the reflected and colored sound off the room; and even then, if the room isn't big enough, the lowest frequencies won't propagate for having insufficient length for the wave to manifest at all, to be heard or otherwise measured. Its physics for God sake. While we're at it, you need to sit, at a minimum, 8 feet away to hear most of the sound, not a couple of feet, and a further 8 feet away to hear the bottom octave. the signal just doesn't exist as a direct signal until it has travelled its own length. The best that can ever be said of this kind of sound evaluation is...'nice sound room/cabinet interaction. Having said that they look cool, if however silly, because their frequency response goes pointlessly beyond the basses ability to generate. Looks like a capable PA speaker, which it is.
