I don't think the lip is a bad idea but may need to make it a bit smaller and definitely open the joints up more. Both are awesome!

That is awesome, nice work! For a clearcoat, I know some people use a 2k automotive clear to achieve what you're describing. It seems to go on pretty thin, and I believe there is a way to make it have a matte finish. I don't use it personally but something for you to look into!

What awesome build. Beautiful paint on both of them. I'd definitely love to own one to fish if you dial in the action we don't have gators here but I'm sure that wouldn't stop a biggin from trying to snack on it lol

The lipless swims better but it has no "kick." I think it might need more weights at head. It swims more like the real thing as opposed to the lipped version.
