Garmin STRIKER Vivid 4cv Box Opening and On the Water Review

Ойын-сауық

I cannot express with how pleased I am with this new Striker Vivid 4CV. First is the clarity of the returns. For a fish finder under $200 the quality is right up there with the high end finders.
As usual it is very easy to install, set up and use. Having the different color schemes that can independently be set up for each sonar is a game changer. The contour mapping is as good as it get for a head unit that doesn’t come installed with maps or have an sd card slot available. They took the way points to the next level. It is extremely accurate and surprisingly even at speeds of 15-20 mph it was still mapping the bottom.
Especially for someone who is just learning sonar this is about the easiest set up I have ever had. It seems they have made the regular Striker 4cv even better.
Bottom line you will not find any fish finder with these features and quality in this price point trust me I lost many hours of sleep researching before I made this purchase. Now I could be wrong but I owned the previous Striker 4CV and this new Vivid has real down imaging. The new transducer GT-20 TM produces a crystal clear image especially in the Ice Blue and the I like the green and red for the sonar because the red for hard returns gives me accurate readings between fish and debris.
It also kept depth readings at speeds of 40 mph. For the first time I can honestly say I understood what I was reading and could actually use my fish finder to land fish. I would post the video here but I was way to excited with the PB small mouth I caught after a 7 trip skunk with my previous fish finder inder from another brand. I could go on and on but I am so impressed I would never stop.
All I can say is you won’t be disappointed at all!!!

Thanks for taking the time to make this consumer based review, it helped convince me to make the purchase. Last night was the first test drive with the new toy and it's proven worthy on day one. Nice largemouth bass you caught in the vid. Cheers.

Thank you very much I’m glad you enjoyed the video. As I was trying to decide if I was going to get another 4cv plus versus the Vivid I could not find any consumer reviews so after I got mine I figured I would do one. This new transducer seems to work extremely well and I am very impressed with the images I am getting in the ice blue color. I have not even used all the color palette yet and on my second trip I lowered the transducer down a little bit and now I am getting a very solid picture and depth reading at 39.5 mph which I am very impressed with. Yesterday I found where the fish have been hiding at Lake Mead this winter thanks to this Striker Vivid.

Thank you for watching. Yes you can use your 12v trolling battery it uses very little energy. Also I am plan to call Garmin today to verify if the data cable works on this unit or is that just a standard wire harness they use. The cable is about 15ft or more. I have a 15’5” Glastron V156 and it makes it to the console with plenty of cable left. So far I am very pleased with the unit.
