He used to take my wife fishing when she little. We took a bass fishing charter earlier this year and we both had a blast. I’m 32 and have never done much fishing. We plan on fixing up both the boats and are looking forward to getting out several times this year. I’ve been loading up on everything I can learn via KZread. This is great stuff!

Thanks for this great instructional video. I like it! Now I have these affordable sonar features on my old boat that were so expensive 9 - 10 years ago. On clearance sale! I find it interesting that what is called side scan is actually a downward view of the bottom and it is difficult to tell how tall a feature is unless judging by the sonar "shadow" and what they call down scan is actually the side view of the underwater structure able to see how high the targeted features rise in the water column. It seems backwards to me, but I get it. Got some old footage in there of your boat without all the new sonar and wrap graphics on the hull!

Interesting information. I spent time on the Tillery lake yesterday and today. For some reason I was under the impression that using side scanning was to locate fish and down imaging was used to scan the structure. So at least now I have a better understanding of what's what. Correct me if I'm wrong, I believe I've seen on some videos that you can see suspended fish by the sonar return and a shadow cast by the fish. At any rate, in the future when I'm using side scan I'll be focusing more on looking for types of structure. Thanks for sharing.
