Garcia vs Rios FULL FIGHT: February 17, 2018 - PBC on Showtime
Спорт
(February 17, 2018) Danny Garcia delivers early candidate for 2018 Knockout of the Year-stopping Brandon Rios via ninth-round TKO.
Former two-division world champion Danny Garcia returned with a vengeance, knocking out Brandon Rios in a WBC Welterweight Title Eliminator in the main event on SHOWTIME from Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas.
Returning for the first time since dropping a close split-decision to Keith Thurman in a welterweight world championship unification fight in March of 2017, Garcia reminded fans of his position amongst boxing's elite at 147 pounds with an early candidate for 2018 Knockout of the Year.
Garcia (34-1, 20 KOs) did his best work in the center of the ring, where he was able to box at a distance and fend off Rios' furious pace. Rios, who returned in 2017 from a brief retirement, was most effective against the ropes where he gave Garcia trouble with his constant pressure and his favorite weapon - a wide overhand right.
In the ninth round with the fight where Garcia wanted it - in the center of the ring - the Philadelphia native landed a huge counter right to the chin that sent Rios flat on his back. Rios beat the count, but was clearly wobbly on his feet, forcing referee Kenny Bayless to halt the contest at 2:25 of the ninth. "I felt the ring rust a little bit in the beginning," said Garcia, who recorded the 20th knockout of his career. "He's a good inside fighter and he was giving me some good uppercuts. I felt good, it was a good nine rounds. He came to fight. I came to box, I did that. I came to bang, and I gave the fans what they wanted - a knockout.
"I just noticed when I was getting my punches off he was standing right in front of me and I just let it go. As soon as I got the fight in the middle of the ring where I wanted I landed good shots. I was just letting my hands go and the punch landed."

I really enjoy watching Danny fight. He should be proud of his achievements.
I think rios saw god for a solid second at the end there.
Good shit Danny G you did that
Danny is so fun to watch when hes actually letting his hands go

yes, same thing happens with adrien broner
Danny looked like he was simply sparring as if he was in there teaching rather than actually fighting. But boy when he lets his hands go with intention, they're hard with pin-point accuracy.
Rios was doing an exceptionally great job blocking Garcia’s punches with his head.

GREAT FIGHT GARCIA
Nice work Danny, just wish your corner could lay out which tactical moves is expected to win this fight, otherwise great fight... Danny Garcia mi Boricua 🇵🇷
Those wars with Alvarado really took a lot out of Rios, he's one of the toughest fighters out there I always love watching him fight

It's hard to believe this is the same Rios who fought some of the best boxers in the business, this guy looks like an amateur
Solid punch
Danny is one of my favorite fighter aside from pacman. This guy means business, Very calm, heavy puncher and one of the most accurate aside from money.
Garcia moved up to 147 and found out its a different game lol Rios gets credit for going 12 with Pac but they both need to go back to 140 or become gatekeepers.

Rios was doing very well in parts of the fight. If he had been more dedicated to his diet I believe he could have done alot more.
Look at Brandon’s wife reaction. On the knockout replay. She not the one. 😂
Another good round for garcia
Danny Garcia is a complete fighter. He is also calm and collected with excellent hand speed, much less good looking. Fighters like him should pay better than Mayweather.

Say what you want about Rios but his heart and determination were one of the best. Never quit, always got up. Too tough for his own good. He should of retired a lot sooner. His last 4/5 fights were tough to watch.

Brandon Rios way of fighting is really dangerous he can get a really serious damage if he still doing the same style for long time

Folded that bum like laundry. 😂
That's the curse of bullying some opponents, like pacquiao bullied by Rios..Thurman bullied pacquiao! Now, do they won the fight?
I love the sport of boxing. But, nothing frustrates me more than any fighter who allows himself to be hit.
His only loss: if you ignore the Mauricio Herrera and Lamont Peterson fights...
O que faz um descuido instantâneo em uma luta, né?! Completamente desguarnecido... tomou um direto bem encaixado. Parabéns ao Garcia... lutou muito bem!!!
Rios gotta evolve if he doesn't want to be forgotten. he gets punishment and moves forward to get more. He has an under-developed lat dorsi and obliques suggesting he lacks some "ooomph" with those punches.

If Danny's conditioning was impeccable and he was a little lighter on his feet, he would be unstoppable because he actuallu has fast hands and hits hard.
Rios always comes to fight with attitude. Crowd pleaser and the people love him. Danny Garcia will be a HOF boxer and his talent and skill overpowered Rios' heart. Great fight.

I’ll say that he’s a real cautious fighter. He doesn’t like taking chances. Still he is hard to beat for anyone with the possible exception of Errol Spence. He’s not light work for anyone. I could totally see him beating Manny Pacquiao if they fought.

timid? bro, he stays in the pocket and exchanges. He's just not an asshole in the interviews like the guys that get more views. He's a multi-weight world champion already....
I don't know why a boxer like rios would take right punches like that 😕
Rios saw many Stars, 🤣🤣🤣
Rios is the kind that keep on advancing - punching but could not hit the target.😁😁😁 He was easily became an easy target during his bout with Pacman...which he cried eventually.
