***** The edges on the alpha have slight bump on each edge so you can lay it on its side. The iphone 5 doesn't have that. So I don't see the similarities.

You can always disable My Magazine or install a launcher (unlike other OS). 720p is enough for a 4.7 inch phone. It has USB OTG so memory isn't much an issue. The rest of its other limitations (battery, camera, ingress protection, display size, processor) shall be answered by its successors for sure.

Held this phone in Best Buy and it really does feel great in the hand. Just wish the battery was bigger. I've never been one to carry two batteries.. Mainly because I feel like I shouldn't have to. We're almost to 2015 battery life should be the priority of any phone. No matter how smooth the software is or how fast the processor is if you can't even use it.

I own this phone and the laggy interface can be fixed just by messing with a few settings. No root access needed just developer options. The battery is actually substantial enough. Going with 720p on this phone and. Thought was wise to preserve battery and increase fps in benchmarks. People claim to be able to see the difference but I cannot differentiate between a amoled 1080 and 720 screen. The phone is perfectly sized and the feel is amazing for a Samsung. There a few Chinese manufactured phones such as the Oppo that I would like to get my hands on for comparison but as for the US contract based phone this one has my vote.

Who is going to do the Blackberry Passport review? I absolutely know it is meant to be an enterprise device, but I'm really curious about how much more it can do, IE. Apps support, do you need to side load, how glitchy are the apps, music sound quality, Etc. I think Blackberry returning to its niche is the best idea, but for some reason, I can't stop looking at that square shape. Its hard to gauge size, but it seems like a squared-out Nokia 920 in size? It might not be the fastest, but these days, how much faster do you really need? Im just really looking forward to a review of this product and what everyone's hands on opinions actually are. I only ask this because you guys on Pocket Now seem the absolute most legit and unbiased. Thank you very much. Keep up the good work.

An interesting phone which shows Samsung is at least paying a little attention to criticism. Unfortunately, they still need to work on optimizing/removing Touchwiz and not diluting their flagship phones so much. One Galaxy a year & everything else is a subline... especially when they pack micro-batteries like this,

This device actually has advantages on galaxy s5 because of the screen rez it will have better batt. life and performance, on the s5 it has a sd 805 but its 2k, here yoy have a sd 801 but its only running a 720p screen, so it will perform better, benchmarks don't mean a thing, i use a fps meter for my games.

Pocketnow I checked out your link and here was my response: This is about the dumbest phone related article ive ever read. To say that you can subjectively judge what constitutes good design and build quality, but that it is lazy and glib to make the subjective determination that because you use choose to use a case, the look and feel of the phone is not important to you. The link text to this article is 'smartphone cases dont excuse bad design' but it should say what you have actually argued, 'smartphone cases dont excuses you from not caring about what i care about (the physical look and feel without a case)and using your phone in a way i dont use mine(without a case)' You are right, as you point out more than once, aesthetics is subjective. But you cant then make the objective determination that a phones original aesthetic design is as or even more important than the aesthetic quality with a case. Its like stating that what constitutes a good paint color for a car you buy is subjective, but if you plan to repaint your car when you buy it , its 'lazy, glib, and flies in the face of an asperational spirit' to say the cars original color is not important. I can understand why you would appreciate the thought and motivation behind steve jobs caring about the look of hidden screws, but the reason your article fails is because your trying to argue that everyone should care about the look of hidden screws and if you dont thats something to be critical of. Just say, hey, i know a lot of you like to use a case and have one on your phone 99% of the time, but i really care about the original design quality and think there is something to appreciate so give that design a closer look and maybe you will find something to appreciate as well. Change the title to 'Case users, dont forget about your phones original build quality' and then express your subjective reasons why phone design is interesting etc. Making negative, objective statements under the guise of subjectivity makes you come across like a douche.

Alex Tapisevic Even Alpha is slow, If you want to buy older phone O suggest buying S7 or even S9 is significantly cheaper now since s10 about to come out

S7 isnt old enough for me, im not really looking for nothing fancy, cant afford more than that too on a phone, i dont even use it so much.

I have the Samsung Galaxy tab pro 8.4 and while watching the video I thought they turn this tablet into a phone, a 4.7 inch phone with 720p.

It really is a pretty phone, and if Samsung can fix their UI by the time I upgrade from my 5S, they might win me back.

Don't like Samsung phones, and 4.7" is too little for me but damn it looks nice... and it's extremely comfortable to hold. Just a great phone overall.

Samsung sells a 2500mAh battery for the Alpha right? Anyone knows how much that improves battery life? My brother has the phone and he isn't really a conservative person...
