What a time to be alive, there won't be ever another unboxing as satisfying as the note 9.
I've had absolutely no problems with the Nord n200 other than a shoddy fingerprint reader, but my next phone will be a Pixel just for the 7 years of updates.
OnePlus has terrible customer service... use caution
So does Google
Still shaky on the zoom when recording videos.
Love one plus but I'll take the 8a all day in this comparison.
I love my s24 from Verizon it has the snapdragon and 6.2 is not small its perfect
I just don't trust MS anymore and especially Satya.
With better battery life the Pixel 8a would be perfect for most regular smartphone users except gamers and people who really want a high end camera like Iphone pro, Pixel Pro or Samsung Galaxy Ultra.
😮
Who the fook is that guy?
Were the pictures backwards vs what was indicated on the screen? Looks to me like the ones marked 8a were more washed out which goes against what the reviewer was saying. But then with the videos it seemed to flip and the ones marked 12r were more washed out.
in Europe i have to pay 700€ .. shipping i guess. anyway i will get it .. maybe. lets watch some more reviews. top video!
okay nvm i got it now for 550€ im happy :)
Wow
I really can't take any of his advice on aesthetics after this. Are you kidding, this tacky-ass phone looks more premium than the 8A?
Its The Android Police 😎
Good to see you’re catching up, Jaime! Can’t wait for the Reviews on the M2 Air and M4 Pro!
It's cool that you have someone else helping out but did I miss the notice? It's nice to introduce someone as a collaborator on the page.
Feels weird seeing some OG tech reviewers from other channels in other OG channels. Still, welcome to Pocketnow 👏🏻
I just don't understand why exactly the 8a has bezels like it has in 2024 I strongly believe Google could've went with a panel with much thinner bezels
12R always
What happened to the other guy. Please bring him back.
Jaime Rivera
Woah they stole the guy from Android Authority
Rayan Thomas, if I had to pick one from this two midrangers I would shurely go with the SAMSUNG 24 ULTRA.. Seeing that you're not from the US and that I am from Croatia then I imediatly get how we could never ever understand this american joke that I wrote above.. 😂😂
The 12R's battery life is dead sexy! That is the only difference in the 12R's favor that I care about. For me, the superiority of the snapdragon is nice, but both will be plenty fast for whatever (this has been true for years). Camera and AV quality are the other 2 big features. Camera is a Pixel strength. My understanding is that the Actua screens support the brightest real world outdoor screen brightness on the market. The HDR peaks are less important to me. With that said, with performance being a functional wash. I think a decent camera, good screen and GREAT battery are more practically important than awesome features. I am saying this as a 4 generation Pixel user. The OnePlus 12R is the better buy. As I have invested heavily into magsafe accessories, it isn't the better buy for me, but still the better general purchase.
I thought I was watching the wrong channel.
Great job, as always.
At the end of the day, they're both oversized featureless garbage. And if you're going to miss BASIC functionality like expandable storage and a headphone jack, you will be much better served with a Galaxy A phone whose software runs leaps around both Google's and OnePlus' pathetic implementation of Android. Otherwise, if you like the crap shitock Android experience, get an Xperia 10.
Sony is trash
That curved screen is the only thing that puts me off the OnePlus otherwise it's a pretty good deal for the money
I will go for the pixel 8a coz of the camera and the Andriod OS.
I appreciate your review on the Pixel 8a (and all your reviews 😊) Jaime. But I have to mention that many reviewers throw shade at pixel devices for their lack of gaming capabilities. I'm not sure I understand or agree with that. I have owned many pixel devices and I play some demanding games like COD mobile, PUBG and last day on earth. Never had any hiccups in performance and I run at high settings. Am I alone on this? Keep up the good work!
Sure, pixel would receive updates for the coming 7 years. But it remains to be seen if it’s hardware will let it stay functional for that long
It's hardware is good enough. It's running a pretty good chip albeit a hot one. It's smart capabilities outperform flagships in terms of features
12R for power 8A for camera
Here in the UK the 12r is more expensive than the 8a. I would not see much people buying the 12r here because for the price you can get other brands cheaper
Isn't this Ryan Thomas from android police?
I know right! I thought I clicked on the wrong video when I heard his voice instead of Jaime's
No, he actually has a twin brother 😆
hahaha i thought it was a glitch 😭 love to see the collaboration tho!
and isnt he also with android authority?
I believe he is taking over since Jaime is working on his own channel now, idk it could be right?
So, who are you? I guess it’s time to say goodbye to Pocketnow. Ps: ugly logo
I think you're over acting
@@jaughnekow and so?
Oneplus needs to just focus on flat screens ..curved screens are not it anymore
I beg to differ. I love my curved display on the 12. Sets it apart from the boring flat screens everyone has and it's more ergonomic
@@jamescassar5348most phones have curved screens, it’s boring and dated. It screams 2015. Phones are moving TO flat screens and moving AWAY from curved screens.
Woahhh who is this
He's from Android Police
PocketNow bought out their channel last week
@@DivineVegan damnnnn Pocket Now Making some BIG MOVES
The younger generation of America gives me hope that the country isn’t entirely rotten. There are still people who care about humanity. May be we will have a better world for the remaining people of Palestine. 🇵🇸 😛💕
we stand with israel
This is a phone video. Stfu
I love the Samsung ecosystem ... tried other phones and I always come back to the Samsung ...
Is this Galaxy Book4 Pro 360 a Copilot +PC?
Im loving it ❤
A year after i bought OnePlus 9 pro for $399 so yeah i got great deal based on the specs for me op 9 pro is better
Getting my series 9 Wednesday. I can’t stand the new Garmin Connect app, so I’m moving back to apple.
Existing Google Fi users can get this for $299
No one was creating that very strange dichotomy - but I guess you know how to do propaganda, so here it is - false dichotomies to support a corporate product like it's a moral good.
owned the Nexus 4, the LG4, pixel 3a and i recently went from Pixel 4a to 8a. Nice upgrade from the 4a. The 8a is the first phone owned that can be used in sunlight --a game changer. I miss the removable battery and ergonomics of the LG4 but apart from that the pixel 8a checks all the boxes as an ideal basic daily driver.
Man I remember my mom giving me her G1. The things you could do just blew my mind. Changing the notification light was ludicrous back then. The app that allows you to get a police radio was crazy. When mine died I got a G2 for free. That device was amazing. Been rocking with android ever since
this guy is glazing apple WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY too much
a consistent and informative review. saw several others that are just fireworks and echoing repetitive ideas
"this review plays to my biases, so its the best one!"
I've been using the 8a for a week now and I really like it. The biggest positive is the form factor. I'm tired of using 6.7 in phones and it's nice to have one where I can hold and use with 1 hand. The bezels could be thinner but doesn't bother me that much.
