'Screen will be turned off when screen is locked' Samsung is brilliant!! XD

Even though im a techy person, ive decided upon getting the S5. Even though most techy people dont like samsung ( still dont completly understand why). Ive decided basically because of the camera. I was torn between to M8 and the S5 and eventually chose the S5(ill be getting it in August ) call quality doesnt matter because i rarely call people. Speaker doesnt matter because i have a tablet for that with stero speakers. Ill be glad to get rid of the galaxy nexus.

Saw TechnoBuffalo review and came here to see how similar or different they are.

This phone is really fast. It even supports slow motion video capture up to 240fps. Right now I don't need 4k video capture, but its nice to have. I really like the built in universal remote. Not to mention all the other sensors. It sits in a frame when I go up on my ultralight. I use it as my gauges for temperature, altimeter, and more when I fly around. Awesome phone.

Great review Michael. If not your best work then close.. Really nice way to sum up all the good and bad in one interesting video. It takes knowledge, experience and intelligence to make something like this.

i have owned my s5 for about 2 months now and i am having rarly issues with the fingerprint scanner sure sometimes it strugles but that is because or user error not the scanner.and who uses the speaker anymore i only use headsets and headphones

I think the S5 gets a bum rap. I love mine, No lag, quick reflexes and gorgeous screen. I don't notice muffled sound quality nor do my callers. Battery life is more then satisfactory and besides, I can just pop a recharged spare in in seconds. Something you can't do with the S6. The speaker sucks but I listen using ear buds so its not a big deal. Of course mine is running adroid 5.0 and not 4.4.2 The fingerprint scanner works at least 95% of the time for me. I've never bothered with the heart rate monitor. Overall, I think its a great device and I prefer it overall to the S6. I don't like non expandable batteries and non expandable storage. True, you can bump an S6 up to 128 gigs but its damn expensive to do so. IMHO

I was waiting all the way long to see you guys talking about the LTE and WIFI download booster. Unfortunately you missed the biggest feature. Thanks for the video it was great effort.

Galaxy line is almost like iphone, once sought after product, flagships of industry, but then too popularized, too advertised and they became the definition of boring. Iphone is still kind of cool it has some personality and a role, but galaxy, nothing is more boring than galaxy.

miiiikku both of them. Software wise i think iOS 7 has the best ui out of all platforms/skins and looks wise I think both phones look good and aren't boring.

Getting mine tomorrow! I have exclusively only owned iphones since 2006 and this is my first time jumping onto android. I hope i dont get disappointed. The only reason why im switching is because im tired of looking at IOS everyday. Iphones were the best phones up until now when android stepped it up. I hope there isnt much lag because none of my old iphones ever had lag.

Do people even know you can register your finger from the side so you can use it one handed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do people even know that when you register a finger more than once it increases the sensitivity making it rrgister your finger more accurately wither a higher success rate!!!!! Why is it only s handful of reviewers mention this

Hassan1610 Personally, yes, I'd recommend it. That or the Z2 are the best Android choices currently. The M8 had a multitude of problems for me - very poor build, a green/ yellow tint to the screen and the camera is still awful!

Your reviews are great to watch Samsung S5 is a good device but design should have been better caz it looks like grand 2 also internal should be 32 gb and speakers location are not so good still is a good device but not the best.touchwiz lag will never go but they have added lots of cool features. I have a note 3 but will wait for note 4 to upgrade.

To all Galaxy S/Note owners. Go to settings>>General>> About Device Build Number>>Tap 7X's to unlock "Developer Options" You'll see three "Scale" options (Windows Animation Scale/Transition Animation Scale/Animator Duration Scale) Default is set to 1X Turn off to 0 and you'll notice a considerable speed increase and overall the phone is much snappier.

Everyone mistakes the Transition, Animation and Duration Scales for Lag? It looks like there's a delay when they're turned on. Just turn them off and the phone responds instantly giving you a much snappier experience.

Michael should review all the phones on Pocketnow.

Even price is not a big deal because I don't know anyone who pays full price for a phone so why get that nobody ever heard of company for 350 or whatever the price is when you can get a real flagship from a real company for less on contract or the endless offers.

Even price is not gonna be a high selling point. As I mentioned previously, I don't know anyone who buys unlocked devices or phones at full price. With all these offers from competitive low pricing on devices with a new line to the endless offers and early upgrades, why would you pay 300 dollars or a little over for a little known phone by a little known company when you can get any other phone for less.

kckishan yeah I know it's not the only country in the world but it is one of the main countries if not THE main one. If an international company doesn't make it in the US then it won't make it point.

Every high-end smartphone should have an optically stabilized camera, it should never be left out!

I love both samsung and apple but I just hope the galaxy s5 is as smooth as the iPhone 5s. I switched from the galaxy s4 to a iPhone 5s and I love everything about it. It's do fluid and fast. I just hope the galaxy s5 could be the same

_First of all, Thank you for not hating on either phone. I'm sick and tired of those claiming that one phone is godlike, while the other is just a paper weight. It's taste, and we all have different, but some people seem to forget this, sadly._ Anyway, yeah, i guess we expect too much from phone companies these days. Maybe we've hit a cap in technology, and the "new" thing we expect, is simply not developed/discovered yet. I have the iPhone 5, and have been looking for a change, even though i don't need a new phone, since it's still holding up as the day it came out of the box. I don't mind waiting for the (In my opinion) perfect phone. I was hyped to see what Samsung had to deliver, but as you said, the S5 isn't really what I've been looking for either. I guess I have to wait to see what Apple will give us, when the iPhone 6 gets released. I don't expect a giant change, since it seems like we have reached a limit, that means that 2014 phones still look like they came from 2013, and not the "next-gen" thing we've been looking for. Not to mention HTC which has released phones beautiful on the outside, but still missing something on the inside(in my opinion), they might just release something, like the HTC Desire HD i had some years ago, before i got my iPhone. I bet my phone will easily hold up another year, so I can see what our beloved phone companies will bring in late-2014/2015 :)

Don't rule out the HTC One M8 then. That phone is incredibly fluid as well. I have one right now and it's awesome. Definitely rivals how smooth the iPhone 5S, which was my old device. The Galaxy S5 is definitely smooth from what I played with in store though.

Roney Desousa I never used an HTC phone so that why I ruled it out and also its not one of ny choices. Ive used a Galaxy s3, s4 and iphone 5s and im getting the Galaxy s5. But I just hope when I get it, its as smooth and fast as the HTC One M8 that ive heard from tech reviewers and the iPhone 5s.

do you know that you can speed up your gs5 and gain more battery life by going into settings and about device and tap the build nomber 7 times and activate the developer mode and turn off all the animations . I did that and my s5 is so much faster and alot more battery left at the end of the day its awsome .you can do this with the s3 and s4 .

Then turn off s-voice and use Google Now as your default voice method. I can double-click my home button and use Google Now on my Note 3 genius.

Galaxy s5 on sprint with sd maid to get rid of bloat and the google now launcher i love mine... Just wish i could of gotten blue

regarding the finger print sensor, it looked like it would work if you actually orientate your finger to match the image suggestion it shows rather than swiping from the side, obviously its not going to work if you don't do it properly which is the whole point of it I would think.

I just wanted to share with you the opinion about file sharing NEARBY DEVICE. I use it every day and, never been so happ. The S5 is in my hands since 11 April, and playing HD movies with no hiccups, jumps nothing everything is smooth.

Not sure yet if im gonna buy this phone or the new HTC ONE M8 , but i have to admit this ... Micheal Fisher if one of the best reviewer ! Excellent choice of word , well spoken excellent good work ethic and testing the phone in all the possible environment ... it's what a good review is suppose to be !

So basically what I have gotten from several reviews is that the specs are amazing, and that is about it. Every review I have watched/read have said build quality wasn't amazing, the interface and "features" are stupid and that it would be better if it came with CyanogenMod installed

Samsung phones seems a bit different in the US. They seem to lag more and not be as good in the long life as they are in europe. I have a galaxy s2 and it's lag free, built like a tank and after over 2 years it's still running fine without hiccups or loss in batter performance. Same goes for my friend who has a s4.

Still using the S5 and it's running very good, the only replacement I had was the battery.

Good well rounded review. Your right the Galaxy S5 is more of the same. Don't see a need to upgrade to the s5 from the s4.

First of all, Great Review! Now, from the point of a Customer: What I like: One finger usability, Live HDR, Water Proofing, Multi-Window, Display. What I dont Like: Camera isn't capable of taking "good enough" pictures in all conditions, unlike it's competitor HTC One M8. And, that's sad coz the fundamental point of having a camera on phone is ''photo everywhere''. No OIS. Multimedia playback is mediocre for a high-end device. Microphone sucks, which not only means Poor call quality and audio recording, but also poor implementation of Voice Recognition. Software - I am happy to look for the Google Play Edition despite the loadz of feature. Looks ugly. Period.

4.26 LAGGGGGG!!!!!! What is going on?.......2014, snapdragon 801 clocked at 2.5ghz, 2gb RAM, KIT KAT, SAMSUNG FLAGSHIP........WHY LAG????? I'm confused!?

It is my opinion that in a flagship device every hardware and software part should work. The fact that there are serious software issues and an fingerprint scanner doesn't work. I think it's unacceptable they can actually sell this device.

Almost the exact same as the s4 except the back is different and the fake metal bezel looks a bit different. Waste of $700

SONY Xperia Z2 review please

My friends buying a new phone and I told him its only worth getting S5 if you're in it for the camera but better over all is the M8

4:53 "a sluggishness, that isn't evident out of the box, but which creeps in over time as the software bogs down..." ^^^^ that shit right there is true 100% and is precisely why I will NEVER buy a Samsung device again.

The phone is brilliant, but the design of the menus and icons should improve.
