    I like Android, but I don't like Samsung, they are not beautiful, and their software, mah, Nexus should be the real vision about Andoid, some people think Android is no good, because they have crappy smartphones, so crappy experience. They dare compare a phone that costs 700 dollars with ones that costs less than 200.

    yep I hope stock android becomes more popular among oems. Cant tell you how many people have said negative things about android based on their experience with a Samsung galaxy phone or some really cheap low end android phone. Thankfully the cheap androids are starting to perform better and maybe one day samsung will stop with the touchwiz crap

    "Samsung is THE 'Apple' of Androids to the general consumer" Unfortunately this true. Just yesterday I spent sometime convincing a customer that the Moto G is a much better buy compared to this cheap Samsung that looks like a mini Galaxy S3. In the end they got the Samsung based off the brand. How sad. But whatever makes them feel better.

    Raphael Assuncao Lima sim, o Novo Moto G, é melhor no sistema puro do Android do que o lixo do TouchWiz. E a bateria tbm é melhor, e isso é pq ele é um smartphone intermediário. Mas agora se vc pegar o Novo Moto X, nem tem no que comparar, vai ser melhor em tudo.

    I've never liked the Galaxy S phones. The Moto X looks and feels nicer, has actually useful features and the downsides that have been mentioned about it wouldn't bother me particularly that much. I don't think Google has done everything right, but overall, it's a better package than Samsung has ever had to offer and it's cheaper.

    Touchwiz is clunky and seems to be stuck in 2012 in terms of style and appearance. Its gotten better but those who use or test multiple devices typically have the same views..... Touchwiz is behind Stock and Sense in regards to appearance and functionality

  • @myNEONCITY

    @myNEONCITY

    It's become a trend because Touchwiz is awful. For the most part it looks fine, but it is an incredible resource hog and it makes the phone occasionally stutter and lag, which is absolutely unacceptable. Not to mention it uses more battery than it should. That 2800mah battery in the S5 should be able to go much longer on a single charge. It's all just very disappointing.

    I really don't like touchwiz. It is better on the s5 but compared to stock android its just so laggy. samsung really needs to tone it down even more or just get rid of it already. Back in the s3 days I liked it because it was quick and smooth for a overlay but since the s4 and up its been bad.

    I was a little bummed that the new Moto X didn't come with a bigger ( never mind removable) battery. But now I'm wondering if the new Moto was really designed for Android L. Is't battery life supposed to improve exponentially with Android L? If so, then the smaller battery in the X will be very powerful with L while still keeping the phone light, lean, and mean. At least I hope it will.

  • @ronbzoom8531

    @ronbzoom8531

    9 жыл бұрын

    ***** Agreed but my point really didn't concern a removable battery. Rather, maybe Motorola was looking ahead in terms of design and battery life to the upcoming Android L. That is IF it's true that Android L will provide significant improvement with battery in all Android devices, then there should be little concern about the current battery life of the Moto via Kitkat because we know Android L is just around the corner. At least, this is what I'm hoping.

  • @ronbzoom8531

    @ronbzoom8531

    9 жыл бұрын

    ***** Vince, you're still missing my point. Sure a removable battery would have been nice (along with expandable memory and even a better camera). However, I think Motorola was looking at the bigger picture with the arrival of Android L and figured sacrificing a removable battery would be worth it in the end. That is, the updated operating system would make the modest 2300 mAh battery more kick-butt while still permitting the X to be slender and light. But bottom line; I think this is a great phone. I'm looking forward to checking it out.

    I think the S5 wins. Not the fastest but it gets the job done. I never owned the S3 I have a Note 3 and yes TouchWiz slows down at times but it's not often and the Samsung devices offers a better camera, loner battery, higher resell value, plus the features you don't want can be turned off.

    I plan on getting the Moto X in March and as far as the battery life goes I can alleviate that by just getting a solar charger which is like between 5 and 25 bucks on Amazon. And by that time the price will go down by at least 150 cash right now its like 500 so it'll be like 350 on eBay or cheaper. But I want to customize it with walnut wood so I might end up going to the Moto website.

    Good Review. I wanted the Moto X (2014) since leaks started several months ago. Now, with no expandable memory, the poor camera, the poor battery life, the view ability outside, - it's not for me. I could care less about customizing the phone if that's a 'feature' - I do care about what phones are made for - calling and communicating with others. With the active antenna on the Moto, this might be worth really looking at, but I'd need to phones to test this - and I don't have 2. I am also looking close at the iPhone 6, and I'd love to get away from Apple and iTunes.. but I may find my self right back there replacing my iPhone 4S with the 6.

    Good comparison of feature integration and overall experience. I tried the S3 & S4 when each came out only to go with something else with a better software experience and lower specs/features (Galaxy Nexus & HTC One M7, respectively). The S5 has the three most important hardware features to me (strong camera, waterproofing, and battery life), but the Touchwiz software experience is not for me. If Samsung would take the Motorola approach to software and make its unique features apps instead of such a heavy skin, they could dominate the Android market even more than they already are doing.

    I kinda bummed that the Moto X didn't pull through with the battery, my phone right now the Kyrocera Event, already runs out of power by the end of the day. I wanted to see if the MOTO X was more battery focused. I love the Moto X i cant wait to get it.

    I just put my *Galaxy S4* in the corner and bought the new *Moto X*. Despite the fewer features in comparison with the *S5* (and the *LG G3*, the *Xperia Z3* and *HTC One M8*), its price is unbeatable. I'm _really_ impressed with it and with those improved speech commands of the new generation. Well the battery is undoubtedly weaker and at least two charges a day are necessary. But despite its less capacity I don't think the sealed battery is a con. I think just the opposite. The camera has also less features but the photos look warmer than from Samsung and I like that. I've been seeking a pure Android phone for some years and I guess I made a good choice. No regrets.

    Its a crazy good time to be in the market for a smartphone. So many good phones out there, that it is genuinely hard to make a decision. Think I'll go with the Moto X. I like their innovation. Then I'll pick up the iPhone 6S when it comes out.

    I think the idea for the rear speaker is for the sound to bounce off your palm and into your face - but only if you're holding it. I'm dissappinted in Motorola. I have been waiting for the new X for months now and now I'll have to continue to wait for the Nexus X. They still could not get the camera right even with the new Sony sensor.

    I love the vibrant, colorful screen of the S5. The overall design and hand feel goes to the X. What I'm really waiting from r though is the HTC One M9. I only wish the Moto X had also two front for ring speakers.

    My new Moto X arrives tomorrow to replace my S5. I have to admit I'm a Moto fanboy. I do prefer Moto's abilities regarding call quality and radio strength. My two complaints: No SD support (or larger onboard memory) and I wish they'd refined the camera software to better compete with the LG G3 and iPhone 5s/6. BUT I can live with the Moto as is.

    I have the S5 and bought my son the moto x. We have since traded. I like the asthetic and responsive feel to the moto. Downside, I can't root it. But in every other way I am digging this phone.

    Here's the deal, there are days that my 2013 Motox has the screen on constantly for 2 or more hours nonstop, plus the average phone calls and texts. On those days I get about 15 to 16 hours before I charge and although it is low, I still have 15 to 20 percent charge left. The only time battery life is an issue is in areas where the signal is low or nonexsistant. As far as the other features the S5 has, the only thing want is the IR, FM radio chip and the 1080 res. The rest I don't want and or need for my use. I just assume the S5 has the FM chip because my wife has the S4 and I am pretty sure it does although I may have that confused with my daughter's HTC M8. Actually, I prefer the size of my phone over the others because I can actually wear it on my belt without it digging into my side and it doesn't catch on every corner. I rarely watch TV on it but I do watch a lot of youtube. I would like the waterproof part if it were the nano technology and not a case I have to deal with. I can put it in a baggy if I think it is going to be an issue with liquids. Cheap but works well when I ride my bike in bad weather.

    One thing you need to know before you buy either these phones who will be the quickest too get the latest updates. In which Motorola handsets get the updates right after the nexus devices where as Samsung has to go through rigorous testing and skinning in into their fashion which well, that may take a while knowing that it is Samsung we're talking about.

    2:42 I like those scars on the frame. It makes the S5 look tougher. AND they'll stay there forever unless you crack the display, in which case you have to change the whole assembly. I'd choose the new Moto X even if it doesn't have some of the features the S5 has, but maybe that's just me.

    Love my Samsung S5 in blue, the colour is brilliant and the shape feels nice to me. i like the fact that it is plastic, my phone has taken a lot of abuse and still has no scratches. Just a quick question though, I am in England and my phone has no markings on the back of it, it is locked to Vodafone and still has its original everything and the only mark on it says SAMSUNG in silver on the back. why does the phone in this video have things on the back of it saying its model and stuff, were those stickers for the views sake or what?
