Funniest Mistranslations - Ep 193

Ойын-сауық

📝 Show Notes
Who has the best joke this week? The Choc Line got a workout, Gode has puns ready to go and we do our best to name a new boat... obviously only using wordplay. We talk about inflation, well more specifically we just target the cost of eggs and when Gode will start checking if they are broke. Also the game this week (Human Shazam) is a contest for the ages!
Surely leave you best boat names in the comments below! (Don't call me Shirley)

Some other funny swedish - english translations is fart, which in swedish means speed. But you also use it for example when youre driving, then the enterance to a parking garage is called an "infart" and the exit is called an "utfart". You also have "farthinder" which means speed bump. Other confusing ones for you; Bra = good. kiss = pee. kock = chef. Chef = boss.

As a swede i can confirm that "slut" in swedish translates to "end" in english. Which's great fun when you have an english speaking mate. Because you can tell them we're going to the slut station, when you're taking the bus. When it really means you're going to the end station...

There's a common expression in America for immature people (generally guys) to say they're 30 going on 3 or whatever their age is going on something much lower. Conversely, kids who are mature for their age are sometimes said to be 6 going on 16 or whatever their age happens to be plus some. Guessing this isn't used much in Australia?
