Full Live Stream - Tower Of Power, Deadlift For Reps | 2023 Rogue Invitational

Спорт

Complete coverage of Event 1 from the Strongman competition at the 2023 Rogue Invitational in Round Rock, Texas. As it did a year ago, "Tower of Power" began the action at Dell Diamond, as competitors were given 60 seconds in a Deadlift for Reps battle with a 900 LB load.
Considering the incredible year he's had, all eyes were on Mitchell Hooper from the outset, but in this challenge, Americans Trey Mitchell and Bobby Thompson looked to make a statement and put themselves in position to stay in the hunt all weekend.

I think they had some of the events dialed up a bit much. I know the novelty of strong man is odd/unwieldly implements, but here we have some of the strongest men on the planet unable to get more than 1-2 reps if even that. Fans like to see competition and scoring. Really lack luster when half the field is unable to execute the event.

The problem with this event is that you can't see the weight. Something like the hummer tire deadlift is more exciting to watch because you can see the big heavy objects and the bar bending under the weight. With this apparatus, it just looks like they're pulling on an oddly stubborn stick.

If you have a weight that’s so light to the point where the top 5 are just repping it out and going upwards of 12 reps, it doesn’t have the effect on the audience of who the strongest is. Maxime and Mateusz are just known for being really poor deadlifters.

@@abdullahyusof4739There is a middle ground. It's right here. There's plenty of events where people get 0 reps. 2 out of 10 not getting a single rep shows just how strong on the deadlift the 4 guys who got 6 or more are. An event for reps isn't heavy enough if the top guys start hitting double digits. This isn't crossfit.
