Hi dude hope new years was all good, can you suggest which oil for the golf is the best? I have same engine as you AUM and I've seen you said only use quantum platinum but there's also platinum plus so just wondering what's best so let me know :)

Hi bro, great stuff.. I recommend quantum platinum as this is the only thing I use. I think the plus is the same thing tbh and should be okay too.

Okay so I started my mk4 for the first time in a week cause of all the snow where I am, my car has a big smell and on rev it produces a CLOUD of white 😭 is my car in need of head gasket or is the cold possibly the culprit? New to modding cars so I'm not the most versed in engine noises/smells/smoke. Any info would be greatly appreciated I don't want it to be my head gasket 🫡

@@MottoGrotto-ht1yg so the car has sat for nearly 3 weeks actually (but was startefd last week) its been very cold so the smoke doesnt surprise me much, but the smell is pretty potent its not petrol so i dont fully know if its oil or coolant but its gotta be one of the 2, im gonna start the car soon here and let it run for a while to see if the smoke stops or it throws an engine code (ill commment again after) just worried i have too much oil actually or something could be damaged from running it

@@derekaltmannshofer4849 too much oil is a possibility. Run it for a while and if the smoke clears after warm up you’re probably ok. But if it stays and clouds on rev when warm, probably head gasket or oil issues depending on the smell. Best of luck soldier 🫡

Hi Mate, my car has sat for ages through the winter and been okay. I would let it run and warm up nicely possibly take it for a good drive and keep an eye on the temp, if the temp is rising above 90 then you probably have an overheating issue. Another good pointer is to check your oil cap for creaming and have a peep in your expansion tank for oil as this would indicate possible head gasket issues. Regarding the smoke, if it disappears into the atmosphere after few seconds its just mist if not then it could be issues. Hope this helps.
