I'm building a KICKER Solo Baric 2x12 pre-fab box with 3 amplifiers for 3 stages. I used D4S (Down4Sound) for amps & mids (just watched their marketing & bought it) & a DM810 DSP. I used those cheap Piezo tweeters with beefed up resistors & audio quality capacitors. They don't miss a beat running on 80x4 rms. I learned off their durability & quality in the late 90s when they cost just R20 a pair (£1 in your part of the world 😂). I did an amp rack "bookshelf style" in the rear parallel to the rear valance as I kept the spare wheel. Its been a nightmare to hide the wiring as everything is on the top of the carpet. I just cable tied it as neatly as I could. Hope the box fits in the mk4. I just got to get the subs now, last part. Main thing is fitment otherwise I have to go smaller. All this and I don't listen to hip hop much anymore but rather jazz, classic/soft rock or house which is big in Southern Africa. Good luck mate. Even if I didn't mention it before. Your build is top notch & really pounds hard. Looking forward to your upgrade. Your story about sound systems & your dad took me back to the 70s through 90s from a booster with 4 "or 6" with 6/9's coaxials to amps & subs. Alpine made the best head units & speakers (especially tapedecks in late 70s & 80s) before that was 8 track although Merc drivers will tell otherwise with Becker. Fosgate & JL Audio amps; KICKER or JL Audio subs rocked for those whom could afford it. My mates & I physically blew 2xKenwood 12's & 2x Pioneers 12's with a four channel 100watt amp as they were only about 60watts rms. 😂 When I see the ratings of subs & amps now, I amazed how its evolved from when it started. Nice system mate, i have a awesome system in my mk4 golf GTi. its more of a sound quality setup,hert mL front component speakers and 6x9 in rear quarter panels and a JL audio w7 12 .audison quattro 4 channel amp JL 4 channel and JL audio 1000 w monoblock and helix DSP. it was professionally installed by Peter steinbacher of pssound down in Brighton and was featured on his KZread channel.hes probably the best car audio installer and tunner in the country. Owned my golf GTi for nearly twenty years know and still love it .loved this video great fun.hope your well.

I wouldn't call myself a huge bass head but I've always been into bass since I was a kid and I'm 36 now. I've got a single alpine type r 12 inch which is enough for me
