From Mother's Day to Mushrooms w/ John Mulaney & Zooey Deschanel
Ойын-сауық
After Zooey Deschanel sums up a chill Mother's Day spent cooking for her family, John Mulaney and Zooey recall very uneventful searches at the Canadian border, and John tells James about the time he ate mushrooms way too early before a David Bowie concert.

Isabel Smith i think he tends to do that in interviews that are a bit awkward or he doesnt connect with the host well. Which I understand, tbh, i do the same thing when I go to parties and i have to talk to new people. I tell the same funny stories that ive told a million times before cuz i know that they work. So being a stand-up comedian it makes sense to me that he would to the same thing.

@@isabelsmith3775 I feel like the more comics become comfortable doing interviews and with themselves the less they rely on their material and can just have conversation. You could tell that John was still doing bits here, but they didn't all seem staged. Chappelle has gotten that way with interviews. He just has a conversation and is naturally funny. Burr is like that, too... Norm... Watching Louis CK get there over the years of late show interviews was great as well. He really got comfortable doing interviews.

“Not elephant in the room” puns “to be blunt” puns
Mulaney's accent and tone makes him sound like he walked straight out of a 1920's gangster movie. "Say, I ain't no Bluenose, see! I got my giggle water right here, see!"
I love how well James weighs the two people in an interview, it’s very professional and makes both people seem equally important
I think John would’ve been a great guest star in New Girl
"And before we could say anything he said "Before you say anything..." " is such a masterful way of setting up that punch line
Love listening to his stories
James was brave to have two adhders on the show at the same time...I love how they keep talking over each other true adhd representation
I like James in this video, he let the guests speak most of the time and didn't interrupt them once.
I love that he was in Maryland tripping 😂 probably Merriweather Post Pavilion. “I needed to spice it up because it’s Maryland, so I took an eighth of shrooms”.
“I love a talent show, I want to shine.”

A lot of guys are not privy to such details. I'd say the same applies to male majority jobs (not that I'm promoting this), but to most people, "I'm a software developer" is a good enough explanation. Does the S.O. know what a static variable is and she's not in I.T.? I have to say, probably not.

Enjoy the fish and chips, comrade.
Zooey is a sweet, baby angel and she deserves the world. Mulaney too, tbh.
wow i didnt know late night shows could actually be funny. this was like watching a group of friends catch up in the most wholesome way
Mulvaney is a tremendous story teller.
They could play the couple in Rocky Horror Picture Show
She could easily pass for Katy Perry's older sister.
Dear Zoey, and John...MAKE A MOVIE!!!
John is too cool around gentle people like ZD . He is less awkward and just too relaxed to tell his stories right 🌻♥️
