They kinda did you dirty. Your first post, the discount was less than the email subscription or abandoned cart discount. Today your discount is identical to the discount they advertise on their home page (code hyper) I’m pretty mad about it - but still went through and followed up with customer service your affiliate would at least get applied. They should have just given you a code for additional $10 off or something on top of any other sale/code. Or no code. Thanks for the quick review on this!

With the addition of their leg curl stuff and some minor quality improvements with colored knobs being the most noticeable, along with the huge sale they’re doing as of may2024 it looks like a solid option despite it not being perfect. It’s at least a company that’s taking feedback and making improvements

Love seeing real reviews on this by the likes of you and Joe Gray and not just the QVC influencers. Even with the caveats and tradeoffs, I'm still hyped to make the most of this device. A couple thoughts on reverse hypers. Instead of flat + pad or higher incline + no pad, I'll be curious to try the pad at a minimal angle. And for bands, ankle cuffs + carabiners might be a little more hassle upfront but less frustration overall (if it works). It'll be interesting to see all the uses and hacks people come up with for this.

I ordered mine a few months ago and I've been waiting with bated breath for someone that isn't being paid by freakathlete to do a comprehensive review. I thought for sure it was going to be Garage gym reviews to get their hands on it first. But here we are, Glucks gym knocking it out of the ball park! The review was very fair and reasonable. I'm happy that I ordered it. Obviously saying you can do reverse hypers on it is being VERY generous. But everything else seems to work as advertised. Do you think you will keep your machine? Do you think it has enough value to keep it for the space it takes up? You have a lot of equipment already, and with doing reviews all the time space must be at a premium. Thank you for the review!

Rock solid review. I pre-ordered a few months back and am stoked to see this content. I’m of course a little bummed about the news on the reverse hyper. Well, you can still use it for Reverse Hypers and it WILL work just fine, is it as good as a dedicated reverse hyper.. no, of course not. But for me personally, it's a fine compromise, as I base my entire homegym around NOT having barbells and weight plates. So this machine is just amazing.

We are so GLucky that you guys are out there putting all this equipment to task as well as the manufacturers. I had one of these on preorder for months but reconsidered since I have a Scout Hyper and opted for the sturdier, smaller footprint, higher-end build of the Shogun Nord-Ex. Not to say that I would have been disappointed with the Freak Athlete. It is apparent to me, and as you and others have mentioned, that they put a lot of thought into this, they are very creative, and they are very consumer-centric and want to continuously improve their product. THAT goes a very long way and speaks volumes about the people behind the Freak Athlete team. Depending on your needs, I think that home gym or small commercial studio gym owners can’t go wrong with either the Freak or the Shogun.

Well a jack of all trades isn't going to do everything perfectly. But honestly for a normal home gym where space is at a premium it seems like a reasonable compromise, esp for the price. @@GlucksGym So many things. Packaging was garbage and the box was torn open and items scuffed and the UHMW liner for the tube the foot unit goes in was destroyed and now it's super hard to adjust. The pads are SOFT and have permanent knee dents after first use (and I only weight 160lbs). The vinyl over the padding feels cheap and is loose on the cushion so it moves a little bit right when you get on. It wobbles a ton under use. The ladder style adjustment is quick, but does not feel secure at all and is only locked in there by like 1/4" and seems like an accident waiting to happen. To get to the lowest regressions there's a separately attached pop pin and metal support that aren't stored on the unit and are easy to use and annoying to adjust. There's probably more as I haven't even done any of the exercises except regressed nordics simply cause the methods of adjustment make me so angry to use. So in short, it was a bad purchase and I'm quickly trying to dump it on FB marketplace and patiently awaiting the Freak

@@davidb1975a it's good quality for a home gym. I think the padding and vinyl is well done. they have newly upgraded pop pins which would've been my complaint but when I got it in I was pretty low on it. After using it I think it's pretty good.

Listening to you talk about how you were grabbing the wrong knobs and needing a few extra inches made for a good time. I the reverse hyper end, an angled table with little resistance offered by bands (maybe secured to the table to keep better tension at the starting point) is ideal for a lot of folks that are treating back pain and strengthening your erectors, which a lot of folks are lacking on. Good roll up as always

Definitely a good option for people who want a GHD and nordic bench without sacrificing a big area of dedicated space. The RH function is lame as expected, a risky choice to include that in their marketing as a feature. Lots of thought went into the design, cool to see and I'm sure they'll continue to improve and innovate.

Personally I’ll wait to buy a full sized GHD and a 45 degree back extension. When it comes to spending $800 on a piece of equipment I’d rather spend my money on one thats going to do it right, not one thats going to do a bunch of different things kinda right.
