I'm not sure why Forza's color palette was showing me it was light silver but ended up dark. I also don't know if it's a legitimate manufacturer color for the car. Not sure why the showroom for Forza was so dark either; well, I do know why - they're hiding the attention to detail! Now, I wonder why Digital Foundry used the MX5 when comparing the games; so, he had some extra lighting, haha!

BTW I think it would be a good idea to put polygons number on every shot of FM car models, because I swear to God in some shots I literally counted them successfully, WTF man? everyone pointing out lighting, colors being off, car Models lacking details but, absurdly low number of polygons for a completely 9th GEN title is just pathetic, let alone being compared to GT7.

I’m gonna be honest I was one of the people the held out on buying GT7 on launch because of all the negativity that surrounded the game, I only got it last year, and the game is fuckin amazing for what it is, a racing/driving “simcade” game. Surely there are a few annoying little things here and there but the good outshines the bad.

I can't believe the difference in quality between the engines. Forza is a mess!

​​@@AutomotiveVPNot like they've already done that, you don't need a PC version to extract the necessary files, pretty much every model has already been ripped and tons of mods use GT7's models, that's a dumb excuse to not release a game. If Sony follows the path traced by them with the other ports, they might release it next year. They've been releasing ports with a 2 years offset from the first debut, even Ratchet & Clank Rift Apart is on PC after launching in 2021 and this one was a true PS5 showcase for and a Sony's staple. GT7's name even popped up on an old Nvidia leak, even Horizon Forbidden West is officially announced to come on PC next year.

GT has ALWAYS been THE BAR! even when PD, Sony and GT stumbled during the PS3 phase, the quality and the personality and quirks of GT has been consistent... the vision for GT, an automotive encyclopedia has always been there.... GT isnt just a game, its a game to most people, but its also a car photographers dream, a car encyclopedia, a teaching/learning tool

GT's attention of detail.. holy shit. Notice that the jaguar's rear exhaust isn't centered perfectly unlike Forza's. The exhaust placement is same as irl in GT like wtf, that's some next level detail of imperfections

This is insane. No wonder GT7 gets three cars per update, the amount of work needed to build each model must be colossal. Kinda sorta makes me wonder if it is worth it ultimately, to go into so much detail with each car. I mean, you never look at it so closely in the actual game.

@@pahowitzer446 9 months to model a car, the metric used was one person working on it. But obviously a lot more people work on modeling the cars, from the scans, to the sound, to the mechanic workings, etc. Otherwise you would've had like 20 cars in GT7 and not over 400.

Once it’s professionally modelled and in GT it can then be retouched and used in future GTs. Kaz stated way back in Edge magazine (when GT2 was in development) that he hoped to one day make a racing game that had every car and every circuit made. 2 more console gens and we are gonna be there.... hopefully.

3 main things I hate about Forza. 1. Terrible car engine audio (they use high pass filter maybe, so lacks the low frequencies) 2. No Metallic paint job 3. Handling

If GT7 was on PC I would’ve for surely gotten that instead. I currently own Forza Motorsport and honestly if you don’t focus on the details. Everything else besides the lack of maps to race on is fine! Driving you finally get a sense of speed because of the increased motion blur and overall. It’s solid. GT7 is definitely a WAY better game by miles but Forza Still keeps up.

GT7 need to launch on PC, I think it would change the game a lot for all car gamers, also open it up to the mod community, it would blow, and imagine the graphics. I have yet to find a game that's good in terms of detail and graphics, and this was built around working on PS4 hardware. PC would make it real-life, hahah. Forza, in my opinion, was keeping up or level around FM3/4 since then it's not kept close one bit, it only does well because it's an Xbox-branded title that was amazing at one point. I think they should leave Motorsport and work on Horizon and bring back Project Cars.

Man, I hope Gran Turismo comes to PC one day. And knowing what Kazunori is like, he'd want it fully path traced like Cyberpunk and Alan Wake 2. It'd be glorious. Just a shame Jim 'CuntBoi' Ryan dispises anything that isn't a PlayStation.

Hmm. Just bought myself and XBox X and FM8 for my Christmas. Kind of kicking myself now. It's almost like FM8 are using a really dated model of the XJ220 and have just upscaled some bits. You can actually see the straight lines that make up the curves 🤷‍♂️

Forza can be enjoyable. These videos are focused on car model comparisons, so they're centered around who does a better job with car models, etc. To be honest, you can put any game against GT's car models, and it will likely yield similar results. Forza can be enjoyable, and it is, but in my opinion, it's just not as good as GT7. However, it all depends on preferences.

@@joaquingonzalez834 i dont think he uses a series s or lessons the graphics for Forza. He does however choose cars that have been done better gt7. Look at the interior of the red/white gt3 racing viper in comparison. The cockpit view while racing is superior in Forza.. Also, the colors are fixed and he cant get away with choosing the colors himself. He chooses the same factory made color where Forza shows much lighter. A Forza issue that he takes advantage of. Typically close up and while using vr. The super bias commentary to go along with it as well. In my opinion a bad move on his part because he does a good video otherwise.

@@AutomotiveVP After Halo Infinite I no longer had any doubts that Game Pass is destroying the quality of games. Services are ideal for indies and catalog games only.

So I use to debate religious people, and I really do feel like at some point you have to take the nice gloves and tell it out it is. You tried telling them in the nices way possible that their beloved franchise isn't pouring the amount of love and car they used to with Forza 4 and on a smaller note 5. But yet all you get is "well uh why you making it look bad" As always bro keep up the good work. I've been trying to look for 2013 drains for Spa to prove to DF that Forza uses generic drainage systems on Spa. I already found the exact match for the drain they modeled from, a Hospital garage drain. Anyway keep up the work bro 10k here we come.

At 1:42 really shows how messed up t10 models is, the boolean on the doorhandle is very bad that the shading error is noticeable, gt7 on the other hand looks very clean and crisp shading wise

@@andrestl7052 How do you know they didn't build from the ground up? I'm sure the physics were totally revamped, it feels so much different/better to me than any previous FM title. The tracks look better IMO, and the PBR and lighting is also much better than previous titles. As for car models, maybe the artist are just not that good? But to say they lied without facts, and so many GT fanboys running with it like they have proof is just comical. Don't get me wrong, I have issues with the game myself, I think audio totally missed the mark for one, but I can see what is here and hope they address the Forza communities concerns moving forward. Supposedly this is a 10 year game for Xbox, I sure hope within a few months it is better. As for the driving, I think it is right there with GT 7, and isn't driving the most important part of a racing game. It is not like FM 2023 looks like "dogshit" in motion, far from the truth. Just my thoughts.

I'm sure on the graphics side, it didn't at all. I would not be surprised if on the physics side, PS5 may have some head-room left, as I don't think you can have varying racing models, if PS5 and PS4 are competing with each other online in public races. Perhaps the daily races do have a different/better physics model for PS5, last I heard, those races were split between PS4/PS5.

the only thing i wonder is, if the actual XJ220 has that screw really sit behind the bumper of that parking light... Also; blue headlight housing? why though? I also love how the headlight animation plays when you explode the car but not if you turn on the lights

I noticed the screw in GT7 and was thinking the same thing. You get the animation when you turn the lights on in GT7, but not in Forza. Edit: NO animation!* As for the blue housing, it was strange, i have not found anything online, the best pictures so far I have found are these: www.carandclassic.com/car/C1652185 I would do more real-life comparisons, but I risk receiving a copyright strike if I use photos without obtaining permission to use them. I have emailed people for permission. Additionally, I need to purchase music licenses for use in videos, like the RS500 around the Nürburgring, hahah. KZread is complex at times haha.

The forza cars are a full poly subdivision lower at least. Crazy.

WTF!!!! You can see the metallic flakes in the paintjob!! You can actually see the different type of paint finish!!! The specular metallic dust particles or whatever theyre called!!!??

GT makes Forza looks like a game came out in 2005, but still, not a fan of neither games.

Yet all we kept hearing was how Forza was built from the ground up, this is what we get shameful really.

In the model car world : Forza = Hot Wheels or worse. GT7 = Mini GT or better.

Despite of the game running on previous hardware gt7 still blows forza 8 out of the water in terms of details and visuals.

Yea, GT7 is PS4/PS5 so it was built to work on the PS4. Forza is Next gen only.

DF are overrated! And overlook stuff when they feel like..... The Spec 2 update they didnt even bother to mention the Sophy AI update that came in the update, i even mentioned this on their video! When they make sure to list and go over every listed bullet pointed update / improvement that was key to Spec2 the omission of what alot of people were looking forward to in Sophy becoming a regular standard game AI going forward in GT was a massive oversight.... the fact they downplay the gap between GT and Forza! Forza isnt even on the same starting grid as GT! GT is King and you can see Kaz and PD are obsessed and devoted! GT is deeply intertwined with the Car industry and car culture.... GT pops up in awards and car shows, and PD even design the dashboards for 2 nissan cars!? wonder how much Nissan or PD get paid!??? Kaz is a photographer and you can tell by the game and obsession with visuals! Kaz is also a racing driver having participated in the 24hr Nurb!!!!! Forza and T10 in comparison are part time gamers! not even gamers in comparison to how Sony curates and manages their portfolio!

Yeah you should compare in game models on a race, the comparison you do shows forza way less detailed as the scapes mode on GT uses higher quality models

Gt 7 is miles apart, love hopes Gt7 have head light animation , and u see the light cover moving away slowly, while forza has no animation ans simply swap out an image of the car with closed lights to an image of the car with lights on. Forza is full of short cuts & cheap tricks to make it look better than it is and GT 7 is just the real deal no excuses needed they don't even compare

Forza motorsports genuinely made me go buy a PlayStation 5 the same day! The more and more I see videos like this the more I realise how stupid I was by always thinking the next motorsport/horizon will be better, give it a chance. Yet horizon 5 and motorsports were both terrible games.

Wtf is the deal with the colors in FM they are all off and dont look accurate depending on the lighting. Its so frustrating how terrible this game came out.

I'm sorry you feel that way. It was created to showcase all car games and include car model comparisons. I believe the words you're searching for are 'exposing Forza,' not 'insulting.' Well yea, GT7 could have been even much more stunning if not for the PS4 version, i have played GT4 on PS4 for a good year and it sucks compared to PS5 version, especially online is much more stable on PS5, still terrible experience overall though, GT7 online is very unstable.

Doubtful that the PS4 held back the PS5 in any meaningful way as far as graphics are concerned. What they can and no doubt will improve is physics and racing dynamics. I don't expect GT8, if on the PS5, to be that much better in the graphics department, as I "hope" Polyphony take the CPU budget and compute power that may be left over to improve racing even more.

Two things you need to take into consideration, but you comment and bring up excuses non-stop for Forza. Key point 1: the time and day are set to the same. Key point 2: Forza does not offer me any light in the showroom, so what should I do? You are so delusional; it's crazy. Everything is set fairly. It's not my fault Forza hides all its details in shadows. Like I say to all the critics, go into your Xbox Series X and take the same screenshots of the car on Spa in the afternoon and post them to me on Twitter.

Forza devz put it in low light to hide image flaws, u can't see it in any other lightning, same way they flood tracks with trees , with tracks that ain't there in real life to hide back ground graphics flaws
