I like how fm4s head and tail lights are so more detailed.

0:12 this is insane. Forza 4 couldn't handle rendering a keyhole, but at least had a texture for it, meanwhile BFTGU just has a circle 😢

GT7 is a PS4 game with the same engine as and looking alsomst identical to GT Sport. Although it does at least iook better than FM. GT8 will look phenomenal.

Am I the only one who noticed that out of all the games that were made backwards compatible on Xbox, there isn't a single classic Forza Motorsport title? All we got was the first Horizon game. Curious!

This isn't just a graphical comparison but also a passion comparison. FM4 is a lot more realistic for its time than FM8 is today. Also, Lance Hayes is one of many reasons I adore FM3 and FM4 thanks to the incredible and memorable soundtracks he made for these two.

yeah FM4 is the goat, car selection, sounds, career mode, music and extras like top gear was the shit. To this day, I think the GT3Rs, 787b, 333sp and some other cars sounds havent been represented better in any game.

Not much in it in photo/non-gameplay mode with higher detailes cars but FM8's car models are better looking during gameplay. Still, remarkably underwhelming all the same.

How does a Series X|S game end up looking worse than a 360 game?

The thing is, it looks like the textures from the older game are taken from 2D pictures of the real car... The textures on the new game on the other hand, are all digitally created in 3D software... Each headlight is probably sculpted in the new game, and the cars even have a higher polygon count than before because of that, however the light bulbs is probably a detail they skip either for oversight or to conserve resources.

The sounds of the old BMW straight sixes in FM drive me nuts. They're all the same. The newer ones are ok enough until upgrading the intake and exhaust then they become just as samey as the rest of the old BMW straight sixes. S65 tho... quite far off. Can't even drive the M3 GTS.

It's the texture quality also....38gb on xbox series for a texture pack that either does not work...sham of a game and a shadow of its former self...honeslty it makes me sad

It either is bugged and does not allow for the textures to be improved or it is working and it just looks awful...either way, forza 6 is leagues ahead in terms of textures,car models,weather...heck even the tracks look better as many of the npcs look shocking on FM...making them 3d and just doing a really shoddy job makes it worse...would rather have 2d npcs and make them.look good especially in photo mode as this.makes them look even worse close up...pop up everywhere, reflections just end up disappearing and many of the texture pop inside are woefully bad especially for a game "built from the ground up" and I quote..." the most advanced racing sim ever made" the downgrade is shocking especially as they bigger up the lighting,car damage model,amount of debris and foliage on track and the textures,car models...its bad and everyone deserves a refund for miss advertising tbh

Try looking at any custom decals or labels on cars on a Series S version. It's f*cking atrocious, like nothing has loaded in properly. That game looks like a generation behind GT Sport.. on a PS4.

the whole color tone and art direction for the new FM is just so bad. FM4 was in terms of colors and contrast so much nicer, i don't know what the hell happend to Turn10

It's 100 percent the lighting that's to blame. If the lighting was changed in the new forza it would make one hell of a difference.

Something is way off with Forza's lighting. I noticed FM7 had the same issue, it's way too bright. Every car looks like it's under a spotlight.

not just lighting is super flat but contrast and colors in general, the image lacks punch. And no its not 'realistic' as some might say. Reality does not look washed out with a yellow filter all over it. I have no idea what the people in charge for the art direction were thinking. My wild guess is that making the whole game more pale and less contrasty freed up resources that they wanted to put towards having that damn raytracing during actual gameplay.

While i agree, everything except the cars in FM4 looks like an old ass unity game.💀 Still, it is much more visually interesting than FM8 which lacks character whatsoever. FM8 is bland and boring. All the environments and the "paint" shaders that they have done are washed out by a mid presentation. Not to mention the lacking menus and garage environments. I do not even wanna go there. The whole game is so intensive (even with RT off) yet it feels cheap.

Imagine being that insecure about gt7 you make these comparrison videos the track detail in fm4 to fm looks like microsoft paint, the only reason the car models look similar is because your running fm on a low end pc with no ray tracing in the worst possible light it takes two seconds to google a image of fm23 with ray tracing max graphics at night for instance to see how much the games come along, if only i could upload images to youtube to show exactly what i mean

@@richpoor146 He mentioned 3 weeks ago he doesn't even play GT7...... just learn to accept hard evidence and objective arguments...... FM looks nothing like a game on the latest XBox hardware should look like.... and you KNOW it! GT7 on PS4 even looks lightyears BETTER! How the physics are, i don't know and i won't assess them. If you have fun playing the game, enjoy it! Itjust lacks in the graphics and sound department..... GT5 back in the day was similar, it lacked in the sound department but in the physics as well. Looks were alright but f it is unplayable with a controller and thecars all sounded electronically enhanced, the fun wasn't there.... so i stopped playing after ten hours and haven't touched it since then.... still have it though.... FM4 was my GT killer back then, it was lightyears ahead of GT4 and left GT5 wanting. Had tons of fun with FM4 and played it for years, was the perfect Forza. I never thought i'd see the day when this got turned around..... but here it is.....
