lol. that's what i was thinking too. he needed the part where the code to reset your password is sent to you on a scroll, but the code is only good for one hour... and it takes three weeks for the messenger carrying the scroll to walk to your village.

The only thing missing is the growing frustration while trying to choose the correct squares with lanterns/hydrants in a few pictures in a row just to be informed that you were unable to do it correctly an now have to wait few more minutes to give it another try.

Here's the real kicker: those tests don't Actually prove you're not a robot. They're outsourced AI training systems (which someone's getting paid to stick in front of you). An Actual AI is being trained to spot the thing you're being asked to identify in images, and the answers you give are automatically compared against the answers the latest itteration of the AI code spat out as part of the training/refinement process. Such an AI/algorithm, Once finished, can pass those "tests" as easily as a human. That's also why you'll sometimes get forced through several sets. (Especially if you were very much Not wrong). There may have been a time when that wasn't true. Now, not so much. ... Of course, the sort of "robots" they're designed to keep out still often struggle with such things for other reasons. Then again, most of them are defeated by a simple check box (which may or may not have a few fancy tricks tied to it)... Though I recall encountering one site that required you to check the box if you Were a robot (i can only imagine that the basic checkbox was becoming common enough that things that Could deal with them were starting to show up, but those would Automatically check the box...)
