    Great stuff 👏 Watching this to see what ive got to look forward to Ive got my daughters zetec s fiesta to do Dont over look the crank bolt, its done up silly tight due to the harmonics in the engine will shake it loose, i think its 70nm then 5 stages of 90 degrees and hanging off a breaker bar won't do it, you'll need a torque multiplier

  • @SalvageMasterEssex

    @SalvageMasterEssex

    Жыл бұрын

    That's correct if you use the proper 5:1 ratio torque multiplier as it gives a total angle of 90 degrees at crankshaft bolt. If using a different torque multiplier use an angle gauge on the crankshaft bolt itself to give 90 degrees total or you risk breaking bolt or stripping threads in crank.

    there is a few on KZread doing this job so you could check em out i think the biggest job is putting back the crank bolt as there is a special touque multiplier tool that is recommended by ford it is actually a ford specialist tool

    I’ve seen videos where people have put the crank bolt back in with an air gun. They wonder why the crank pulley moves and puts the engine out of time. The torque settings on that bolt are ridiculously high.

    Hi mark going well , i am pretty sure you have to get the exhaust pipe well down out of the way because when you put the sump back with the sealer it’s in the way ,also when I did mine you have to take the throttle body of to get the timing cover off ,you will also need a rubber gasket for the waterways inside the cover, and yes the torque on the crankshaft is horrendous,all the best ,hope you don’t think Iam interfering just trying to help Lee

    @@ResurwreckAutosUK 75.000 km omg only i are so scared now . Did the engine use the correct synthetic oil, 5W20? Do you know? I've just had the engine rebuilt, and it broke down at 90,000 kilometers. It's my fault because I bought it with 60,000 kilometers and then added 5W-30 or 40 oil. Then at 90,000 kilometers, I got the 'low oil pressure' warning while I was on vacation in Italy, and I returned to Germany with only the computer light on. Then I ordered a refurbished engine for €1,900 and had it installed by a mechanic, not a Ford dealership. However, they messed up because they forgot to change the vacuum pump, which was definitely contaminated, right? And after 15,000 kilometers with the new engine, I could see that the engine was dirty with oil. I had to pay another €700 for another problem, water ingress, because they forgot to close the door seal. Anyway, what do you think? If the engine breaks down, is it normal to also change the vacuum pump, right?

    10 years is the age interval, I don't go on mileage as the belts usually go well before thar The oil you use is crucial as it wrecks the belt if the wrong type is used

    my fiesta 1.0 ecoboost is over 10 years old and has 140.000km on it roughly 90.000miles if I'm not wrong . but i have the oil changed every year or 10.000km but of course with 5w-20 from Castrol i never had any problems and still no problems not even with the oil pressure because of bits of the wetbelt blocking the oil pump.but i will have to definitely consider getting it swapped asap so i wouldn't worry to much but always keep an eye on your daughter's bmax
