    i have both the full size and the compact FNS-9. after buying the full sized one, i fell in love with it and then got the compact for my carry gun. both with the night sights from the factory. incredible pistols that are so hard to beat. both i bought for $500 each and that was with the night sights!

    This is one of my favorite pistols.. fits my hand like it was made for it, have never had a failure, and I've fed it all kinds of ammo.. for a dependable carry gun, hard to beat it. I'm sure fan boys of different gun makers will have a bucket of reasons it's not as good as theirs, but I've found it to be an excellent choice

    Excellent and informative review. This is my EDC gun with the pinky extension. My buddies who carry glock 26 are in awe and jealousy of the FNS9c. I have the black and dark gray slide with the Novak Night Sites already installed. Its lightweight, phenomenal accuracy and easy to conceal.

    Great Review Brother, Congrats on all the subs! I love my FN's, I have the FNS 4 & 5 inch & have many vids on them and love them both, I just never bought the FNSC because I have the M&P 9C so never really needed the FNSC.I also enjoy my Sig P320compact! FNS trigger does get better after 300 or so rds. Carry On!

    Thank you for the review. I have the full size FNS 9 and I'm now looking for a more compact carry gun so I'm debating between the P320 Sub and the FNS 9 Compact. One option I saw was to get the P320 Compact and then use the subcompact grip module. Since the size of the grip is usually the issue when carrying concealed, that combo would give you a longer sight radius combined with a smaller grip. I also shoot at Centerfire, maybe I'll see you there.

    My local gun store had a pretty good deal on one last year, but since i already own plenty on compact and sub compact firearms, i didn't pick it up.And yes, the texturing on the FN is too aggressive for my liking, pretty much my only complaint.Although, Talon rubberized grips would certainly fix the issue.Good review nonetheless.

    First off, let me say "l love your reviews". Secondly, I bought a Sig P320 after trying the FNS 9c in the store and I could not get past the magazine release. The danged thing would not drop even after I tried several Internet Commando techniques. Should have gotten the FNS 9c instead of the Sig P320.. I went looking for the P320RX and discovered that it was made from "unobtainium" or "hardtofindium". Anyway I bought a Sig P320 compact with a 10 lb trigger pull. I know, right? Everybody raves about the trigger! So I sent it into Sig and they sent it back saying that it was within spec (5.5-7.5lb). Crap. I used to love Sig and even have a couple of other Sig pistols that I LOVE! However, all of that nothwithstanding, I am keeping the Sig hoping it will loosen up. (Hoping to trade it for an RX version when they become available). Should have gotten the FN...

  • @KSGunGuy01

    @KSGunGuy01

    7 жыл бұрын

    Thanks for the comment and complement! That's a crazy story. I can't believe you came upon a P320 with a 10lb trigger. Have you tried putting an Apex in it? Maybe that will help. I agree that the RX is hard to find unless you don't mind going through Cabelas. I hear the compact RX is now in the wild so maybe you can snag one of those! I hope your Sig gets better, they truly are great guns. Cheers!

  • @nalrah6340

    @nalrah6340

    7 жыл бұрын

    In fairness to Sig, they returned the gun with ~8.5 lb trigger. The trigger is curved so when I pull the trigger gauge straight back it reads 8.5. If you pull it angled downward, it will read 7.5 lbs. (the upper limit of the spec is 7.5 --the nominal is 6.5 lbs.). I have a trigger return spring back-ordered from Brownell's to see if another spring will make it better. Maybe I am nitpicking, I actually prefer a heavier trigger for a carry gun. Just not THAT heavy. Cheers yourself!

  • @KSGunGuy01

    @KSGunGuy01

    7 жыл бұрын

    Tim Harlan I hope the spring helps. It still seems way too heavy. You had me curious so I ran the gauge on the full size rx and subcompact. The rx runs at 5.5lbs consistently and the subcompact runs just under 6lbs roughly. Keep me posted!

    Thanks for taking the time to review. I don't understand the hyper-vigilance as to making sure the viewer knows the gun's unloaded. Even if you point the gun right at the camera and pull the trigger on a loaded weapon, I will not get shot, harmed, wounded or killed. But you will need a new camera at the very least! As to the SIG vs FN comparison, did you strike the back of the FN to see if it would go bang? SIGs of late are not as reliable. Another thing the FN has going for it, it's not a SIG!

    Hi Paul! That's a great suggestion. I had a p30sk V1 a while back and it's a great gun. Very different shooter from the striker fired guns, but great none the less. I'll keep an eye out for a used one. The biggest bummer about HKs with the exception of the VP9, they don't hold their value so you pay a ton for a new one, but lose about 35-40% on the aftermarket.

    The specs online are often not accurate, for example measuring the slide rather than at the levers for width. Usually they are more flattering measurements. Here it seems that they are measuring with the full sized grip. The actual size is right between the Glock 26 and 19 with flush mag. Keep up the good work!

    Troy Truong - I carry an M&P 9c. The FNS is pretty much the same gun with a different grip, a better trigger and an extra mag. I've shot my friend's FNS a couple times and I think I like it a little better than my M&P, mostly just for the more aggressive grip texture. Can't go wrong with either one, though.
