    This is a fantastic plane and is at present my favourite RC plane! I have made some upgrades to mine with Draco's motor and ESC along with a FMS V3 Corsair 18 inch prop (18x11). Also fitted a set of Robart 3-3/4 straight treaded wheels which are a huge improvement over the awful stock wheels which are like concrete blocks.. It flys rock solid and I can get 12+ minutes of flight time on a 7000 pack! And I don't fly with any gyro/stabilisation.

    Brian, i have this plane and mine was janky during manouvers ,it turned out to be the one point wing connections.the wings flex causing connection issue . another pilot with the plane told me to remove the screws in the power blocks so they move when the wings flex . it worked perfectly and now is trouble free . great plane.

    Quick tip on battery tray loaders like this one Brian. The battery straps are what catches causing you to force the tray in. Take your exaco knife and widen the slits inwards towards the center so that the battery straps can ride further inward which allows them to clear the latches and side rails and your battery and tray will slide in much smoother/easier. (Hope I explained that well enough).

    Wow, I really like the FMS P-47 Razorback. Actually, to tell you the truth, I absolutely love any airplane, but the P-47 climbs towards the top. I've been thinking about the prop that broke on landing. Do you think it would've failed if the air temperature had been warmer? To me 8⁰ could've made that plastic awfully brittle. This video brings me personal feelings for two reasons. One is because my grandpa was a welder, and he worked for Republic Aircraft in Evansville, Indiana where the P-47 was produced. The other is because of the CH 47 Chinook that showed up during the filming. I was in the 1st Air Calv, and the chopper that carried us was the Chinook. Anyway this video brought two parts of my past together in a special way . . . Thank you so much! You and "Camera Crew" are awesome, I mean absolutely awesome. Sorry about the long-winded blogging.

    Brian: FYI, the same issue happened with "I Just Got Here" Grandpa Gary. The battery tray slipped backwards and popped up the canopy. Unfortunately, the battery weight change caused his plane to crash I believe. I bought this plane a month ago and I made a removeable bracket that holds keeps the battery tray from moving once it is in place.

    Thanks! She's a great plane, and can't wait for some nicer weather to really get her broke in. She could also probably use a bit larger battery or a tiny bit of nose weight to help her pithiness...I want the elevator control, but I don't want it as quick as it was coming, so I did crank up the Expo from 10% to 20% on my middle setting...if that's not enough, I'll go a bit more. I think a 7000mAh 6S 30C would be fine, but not sure if I'll just slide the battery in without the tray? Either way, excited to get her flying even better!

    I placed a pin in my canopy, I have had this happen on several different 1400 and 1500 mm planes with canopy popin off in flight. I take an oral syringe to make a canopy lock. That looks and performs perfect, no more lost canopy s.

  • @BrianPhillipsRC

    So you use the HOOK of the oral syringe and then slide a pin in and out to open and close it??? Trying to visualize this

  • @boss2234

    @boss2234

    Жыл бұрын

    @@BrianPhillipsRC I cut about 3/4 of an inch off the top of the syringe. I imbed it in the foam on the canopy at a level that is lower than the fuselage. Place a hole in the fuselage for the plunger of the syringe to go through into the syringe itself. I cut the top off the plunger to length of the pice of syringe I have in the canopy leaving it about a 1/4 inch long. Heat a old knife blade up push the end of the plunger on it making a perfectly round button on the end of the plunger. And the rubber is on the other end and seats at the perfect length in the syringe piece. And you have a nice little button to extract the plunger and remove the canopy. Takes about 5 minutes looks like it’s was to be part of the plane.
