Overview
After two-years of numerous flying tests and continuous improvements, the eagerly anticipated 1500mm P-47, is coming! The 1500mm P-47 features many new and innovative features over the original 1400mm P-47.
The new P-47 shows great detail by including 99% scaled control surface, landing gear cover, cockpit interiors, plastic cowling, gun turrets, retracted landing gear, and panel lines.
The original oil paint has been replaced by the latest environmental water-based paint. The water-based paint is environmental-friendly, and is designed to protect the foam parts under any condition. Additional structural changes include the lighter and larger EPO 52 foam, this change alleviates the airplane weight for an impressive flight performance, without weakening the airplane strength. The new CNC processed shock-absorbed front landing gear effectively helps to withstand those less than perfect landings. The control horn now adopts the new ball link design which helps provide a more accurate flight. The new 4258 KV460 motor coupled with our Predator high quality 70A ESC completes a stronger more powerful system. All servos are now metal gear digital servos. Furthermore, this 1500mm P-47 adopts the latest 2016 FMS electric retract. The 2016 FMS electric retract gets a commendable upgrade on both appearance and performance.
The P-47 has a lot of new customer-friendly features based on easy of assembly and transportation by eliminating the wiring problems. All channels on each wing are brought together in a fuselage to wing port. To complete installing the main wing set simply inserting the wing port into the fuselage half, then fixing the wing with four screws.
The new P-47 is far more than a RC model, it is a great new addition to your RC Warbirds collection. If you like RC Warbirds, the 1500mm P-47 is a typical one that you cannot miss.

    A lot of people have had the quick connect wing connection boards fail in flight due to flex in the wings, luckily one of mine didn't work out of the box so I completely removed and replaced them with servo extensions and haven't had any problems. I now always read up on the model specific forums to fix any common issues before my maiden flight.

    So sorry for the loss of your plane but thanks for posting. Anyone who has had a model on a maiden flight and has encountered similar glitches will have been reliving your experience, I know I was !!. Hindsight is always the answer but at the time there is always the urge to try and regain control and not simply land in long grass and live to fly another day. We have all been there at some point.

    I'm sorry for your crash, but the video was well done. I applaud how you calmed your butterflies and worked to resolve the gremlins in flight. The first landing was excellent. Don't be discouraged. I usually learn something from every failure and have found many folk who can help analyze the causes for problems. The technology amazes me; the knowledge is out there but takes work to find it. I haven't stepped up to this complexity (yet) and I'm still flying in gyro stabilized mode, but maybe some day...

    Looks like you are a victim of the crappy wing plugs they use. I took all the screws out of the plugs so they float instead of being fixed on each side and flexing with the wing to fuselage joint. So far I've been lucky with mine. My 70mm FMS Avanti had a wing decide to quit working mid flight, luckily I got it down in one piece and then floated the plugs and it's working fine again (only 2 flights since then though). I would not have gone for maiden 2 after losing control during maiden 1. Sorry for you loss, it's a really nice flying plane when it's working correctly. Those wing plugs are the only negative I've found with it so far.

    Ok over all you did fine on this flight but if you have a choice to land with one gear down? or with all gear up? always choose Gear Up Landing on the Grass, you may lose a propeller but damage will be minimal usually....2nd i notice you did alot of steep tight banking turns at a very slow speed,,,Do Not Fly Any Warbird this way it will put you into a Spin Everytime just as you did 3 times on this flight..Remember More Rudder and Flater Wings into your Turns or at least alot more speed when banking sharply...Also Full Aileron Reversal will Not pull you out of a Spin...Reverse Rudder Will...

    There are two common problems with this plane: 1) The wing connectors. As indicated in the previous comment, it is mounted on the wing and any flex will cause it to come lose causing loss of control of aileron/gear/flap. Also if the inner gear door flap jams (grass/dirt etc) it will draw excessive current causing loss of aileron control as well. I disconnected my inner gear down as it is prone to jamming. I also made the wing servo connector free by removing the mounting screws. It seems to be a secure connection now even if the wing flexes. 2) The battery tray needs to be LOCKED with a click. On the 2nd flight I did not do that and the battery fell off the plane when I did a loop. With no control the plane came down fast and hard. Amazingly it fell into a bush which cushioned it well that the only loss were the prop blades and some compression creases on the fuselage. Once setup properly, the plane flies great and is very easy to handle.

  • @ahmersarwar
    @ahmersarwar Жыл бұрын

    Okay, firstly, welcome to the hobby and don't be sad. I would want to give my 2 cents here as I have been at the same place years ago too. Warbirds are meant to be flown a little quicker than other aircrafts. As their wings are not designed to glide well. At lower speed where other aircrafts glide, warbirds will fall from the sky. You have been flying slow throughout the flights and I understand the nervousness, but like I said, the flights need to be faster. Most importantly, you need to work on your rudder controls. Both on takeoff and landing to keep the aircraft straight. Also on takeoff for warbirds, unlike other aircrafts don't push up the elevator to lift off the ground because these birds need to build airspeed doing a longer run. If needed, try to force be on ground until they build enough speed. I understand it risks the propeller hitting the ground, but if it was a gas/nitro p47 today, you would have crashed on take off. My P47 crashed thrice intro pieces and got repaired haha. If one landing gear fails to come out, put the other one back up and do a belly landing. Landing with one gear will topple your aircraft upside down being unbalance and also break your one retract, possibly your wing too. In your transmitter, also set hi and low rates and assign switch to switch them inbetween flight as per comfort. Use -40 expo for smoother flights. Now, the issue why you crashed. It could be that thing that fell off on downwind, but mostly it's you taking a slow turn. Once again, warbirds will stall on turns. I lost my Mustang P51 on maiden just like you did at this same turn for the same reason. Ideally stretch your downwind at a good altitude, then turn at a good speed, and do a long final approach straight in. That's where you can use flaps, and slow down and descent. Don't make short sharp turns just at the corner of runway. Lastly, foam aircrafts are easy to repair and I hope you can repair yours. They take time but most of the time repairable. I hope I could help you a little. Flying warbirds are not easy but in the end rewarding. Goodluck :D

    Sir can i say something, you fly this warbird the wrong way, in every corner you almost have a stall, you fly the warbird to slow with not enough power, so you did get a stall on the landing, that happens to manny first warbird flyers, even to the experience pilots than can happen sometimes iff they do not keep the power on, you can better practice on some more easy to fly plane like a high wing plane before you fly a warbird, a warbird is not a beginner plane, i like warbirds to but they are a bit fiddly to fly iff u do not now how, my tip keep the power on in the corner, but i am sorry for you loss and i hope you will not give up on warbirds and this beautiful hobby.

  • @friendlyreptile9931

    Yes and no. The reason for the crash was not his speed. The plane was not reacting like it should at 12:04 and he started to say NO seconds before it stalled so you can asume that there was something wrong. He also wrote multiple times that something glitched in the electronics.

  • @joshaas

    @joshaas

    Жыл бұрын

    @@friendlyreptile9931 i do not think so, wen you closely look than you see it was a stall, he was slowing down for the landing, and the plane was already slow and he did make it slower for the landing in a turn and when he did feel that he was going in a stall he did put more power on and that is the killer, you also get the left torque from the engine and than you are done, in all of his turns he was saying no no no, wy, he did feel the beginning of a stall in almost every turn he did make, and the last turn was his slowest turn on the video, so ask everyone that did have a stall on a warbird they all say the plane did not respond, so it feels like signal los but a left turn so slow is a killer for a warbird and when you than put fast the power on you have a big problem, even a experience warbird pilot can not save this bird that is flying so low with that stall and engine torque

    FMS and their lousy electronics. That's why I don't buy anything from them anymore. Only had the V1 800mm F4U and needed to mod it to fly properly. I'll take freewing over FMS any day. There's another angle as to why the electronics are randomly failing. The ESC may be having trouble supplying enough amps to the electronics causing some of the servos to randomly fail when UNDER LOAD. This seems to be the case with the ailerons not being able to work properly, when wind is over them, causing the servo to attempt to draw more amps to counter the drag. BEC could also be failing to power the retracts, or some shorts causing the power issue to damage/interfere with the other electronics. For models this size I recommend dedicated SBEC (switching) with OPTO esc. I rechecked the specs. This warbird uses over 6 (17g)+ 3 (9g) digital servos that are way more than 9g size, and they're DIGITAL servos, therefore the amp draw must be quite a lot. It's also running on 6s so there's quite a lot of work for the switching bec as well. If servos are still working fine now, most likely the sbec portion of the ESC failed or cannot handle the amp draw. The question now is are the digital servos stock or have you replaced them with something that could be drawing more amps?

    I was yelling ADD POWER at my TV the entire time!! You didn't have enough power for that airplane. It needs more power to fly properly. Second, not once did I hear you make any trim adjustments. The maiden is for the pilot to make any necessary trim adjustments. Even though you saw a problem with the gear, you must always remember to fly the airplane FIRST and foremost. Then start thinking about the gear issue or anything else that might come up duringa flight. I would also suggest for you to spend a few hours flying an RC simulator. Good luck always!

    flying at stall speed is never a good idea, especially with a war bird. The P47 has a great glide ratio but it looked like you pushed it to the limit, and with the left gear down causing the drag and the spin.

    You had serious problems with that airplane that you didn't check good enough before you flew it "" I don't know how long you've been flying but CHECK" CHECK " CHECK and re'check !!! I can't stress that enough . I've been flying for a long time and I learned this the hard way many years ago , I had an 84 inch WS P51 that crashed because I didn't check all the connections on my receiver " I was doing a lot of HOT DOG. Aerial combat maneuvers and the connections on the elevator and ailirons came loose " Yea it wasn't good watching a $2500 airplane hit the ground head on from 75 yrds above me !!! Its funny now but wasn't then , My point is you don't have to learn the hard way if you do that one simple thing !!! Check " and re'check it again !!!

    Pilot knew the alerons were not responding because he shouted no no no, early in the final turn, so it wasn't a stall. I agree with pilot, circumstances beyond his control. It flew ok before this happened, no amount of checking on the ground ( which he obviously did)would have shown the problem

    You can do all the aileron you want, when it stalls it drops like a rock and at such low altitude it was game over. The HK Tundra used to suffer from defective burned out aileron connector boards. I am not sure how it is on this one, I just replaced the aileroj servos and used extenders, ditch out the shitty board, at least on the Tundra.

    @@AndyYuenRC dont blame the manufacturers for your lack of skills! A plane like that needs to work 100 % before you maiden it! When you noticed, that the landing gear wasnt working properly on 1st maiden, you should have checked it and all other functions until everything was perfect! A rainy day isnt the best for a maiden. Anyways it looked like the plane was a bit tail heavy and you were flying very slow all the time. Nice plane, bad pilot!

    @@carlwill5009 your right, 100 %! But there seem to be a lot of people, who think, that the purchase automatically enables you to use it, as you expect! A little reading would have led Andy Yuen to the fact, that there have been issues with this model before. Being so naive, just to build it up, make a lot of scale details, doesnt make it fly perfect automatically!
