    Why are you hating on 70's cars? I like them and the 455 Olds Rocket motor were great engines, I had a couple of 70's Delta 88's one with the 455 and one with the 350 Rocket.... they were throaty sounding motors that ran forever.

    The original price of that corolla in 1989 was anywhere from $9,000 to $11,500. 10 grand in 1989 is about 22-23 grand buying power today. So in essence it lost 50 percent in 30 plus years, which is short of amazing. I blame Scotty for these toyota prices lol.

    That Olds? A friend has one in his junkyard here in NC; even a W-30 package car. The engine is there, but I snagged the hood & cut the louvered/vent set up (as well as the under hood structure) to graft onto my Valiant hood.

    You're getting your General Motors liters mixed up Craig. The '6.6 liter' was the 403 cubic-inch Olds V8 that was put into a lot of stuff in the 70's..... The 455's from Olds, Buick and Pontiac were stated as 7.4 liters (actually 7.45....)

Anything from the mid 70's era, aspen r/t's , 74-80 cameros, etc. is going to be the next generation of collectables for muscle car guys. I can remember buying my first 71 charger for $2500, now can't find a wrecked one for under 30,000, 100,000 for a good one. Yeah that toyota is a treasure? well it should be buried in a hole and never seen again for sure. The 80's were just a sad time for the automotive industry with a few exceptions.

    Sorry I have to disagree.. not all nissans are bad I have a 04, 06, 13 and 17 all of them never gave me any problems 3 have cvt. I will say the muranos and rogue are the problems. Altima maxima and titans have been great for me.

  • @alexflosho

    @alexflosho

    Жыл бұрын

    @@shottie26 I'm not saying that the CVTs are bad, I'm saying that the Nissans without a CVT are great in terms of reliability and comfort etc. The CVTs are generally less reliable than the autos and that's because you need to replace the tranny fluid about every 30-50k miles on the CVT cars.

    Its a 30 year old car, n it was a cheap ass car back then. There is no way its worth even a quarter of what it sold for. I agree. They are not built like that anymore, but if you factor in safety and what you CAN actually pick up for 10k, you'd be very suprised to find, that u can get a safer car that will probably last as long as this will. At this point, the seals have to be getting bad. Integral parts of the engine, who knows. Trans, who knows. Its a total crap shoot If you knew the entire history, that maybe different. It was actually being used this entire time, just lightly and well taken care of? Maybe.
