The way I always value a car is to check the invoice amount paid by the 1st owner. The amount before the registration and insurance, including the ex-showroom taxes, is the value of the vehicle at the time for purchase. Rest all are the charges paid by customer to get it on road. For ex. if an Innova Crysta was sold for 18 Lacs back in 2019, its ex-showroom was around 14 lacs. That was the value of Crysta 5 years ago - 14 Lacs. Add onto that the depreciation and you can get yourself a fantastic deal. @Pranay Would like to know your view on this.

That's a good way to value it. However the seller will most likely not agree and eventually all reason and logic fails in front of the demand and supply gods. Also another way to look at it is how much you'll have to shell out if you were to go buy a new one. Because those are real savings and benefits

25:20, again pure gold garbage stuff. You decide selling price based on price you paid back when you purchased! You can't demand 40L for a car that you paid 35L, just because new one cost 40L(new one has 3-4 year more life as per RTO, who pays for that?).. newer model will have its own perks, upgraded features, newer looks and higher RTO life.. old beater can't be priced on par with new.

Completely agree with this, have been hunting for a car and this logic has been extremely off putting experience, also this logic only applies when buying, you try selling your car all this vanishes. Now I have almost shut down my plan for a used, rather will wait a buy a one new one in a few months, the luxury used DelhiNCR car market has gone bonkers, logic wogic sab bahut peeche rah gaya hain. 😐👎🏽

@@punjabibong Yes been through this in both Superbike and premium car market, but finally managed to get hold of a sensible seller who how understood basic maths and how works, came to decent deal without any middleman.
