Could you imagine if we would have had this (Microprose combat arena) when we were in our early 20's? Better yet, we have it when we are 50. LOL! Good old 1990's Microprose. Microprose Air War Pacific Gold. That sim takes me back to my first computer (1994). 1024 x 768 was around 2000, for me at least. I go back to 320 x 200 graphics...OLD DOS. The one sim I wish I could still compare to modern sims is AirWarrior. That sim really taught aircombat flying. First sim that felt they modeled the weight of the aircraft. You couldn't make quick turns like in the Sierra Dynamix sims. See what you did. You get a flight sim enthusiast talking about early flight sims and we can't shut up.

Definitely some classics there. Brings back great memories for sure man. It really was a special time. I think the lack of complexity made them more fun too to be honest.

Hopefully, when the MiG-17 comes out, they have Randy Ball's and Greg Howell's paint schemes included.

That MiG 17 does look nice. More Russian equipment is always a good thing. The MiG 15 along with a few of the older DCS modules really need those cockpits refreshed! I assume ED knows EXACTLY what they are doing. No complaints HERE. I enjoy the hype generated from the new developers and their projects. THANKS FOR YOUR UPDATES ROD.

@@rodwhite5274 They're certainly leaving much on the table as far as this mod is concerned, however. if you're into the ground aspect, like for me its the surface to air missiles then with a bit of imagination there is lots to be had, perhaps not for everyone but for me a must.

HIND is 20% off. 30% was $48.99. No brainer either way if you love helicopters like I do. I have looked at the F16 or maybe the Mig 21 when the sales are on, but I don't have enough time to learn the modules I already have. I've barely touched the F18 and Harrier, and I forgot I owned the Sabre! I've set a price of $39.99 for the F16 before I buy it (it's previous low price). Same with the F14. Bring me the Kiowa and Apache however... That Tiny Combat Arena does look interesting if it's around $15. I put it on my wishlist. Might be a nice, quick distraction like Heliborne. Microprose made one of my all-time favourite games in M1 Tank Platoon 2.

You are talking about Deka (20% discount), but the Heatblur is the same they give 15% discount on the F-14.

Tomcat is worth every penny, it’s iconic, and it’s a plane people know and love. It’s also one of the best and mostly issue free modules in DCS World. It’s like the Mercedes of DCS modules, and when you have that you charge what you want. The JF-17 is made by who, it’s capable of what? It’s been in what movies? See the comparison here? It’s the no name plane that demands premium pricing ?

@@rodwhite5274 I agree with you when you say it's iconic. But the fact that it is not iconic for the west doesn't mean that is worthless. Even the F-5 was in Top Gun and it is not that popular. Also for the JF-17, I'm pretty sure that it is more capable multirole aircraft than F-14 since it is more modern. If you look at buddyspike Persian Gulf, you will see that JF-17 is used and have its place. Remember that the JF-17 was the first DCS aircraft to receive cruise missile. I don't understand the 'hate' against Deka because of the price or because the aircraft is not popular.

I am addicted to - DCS, I can never go backwards. There is a reason software continues to improve - the Experience. People spend lots of money investing in high powered computers to wring the best performance for the best experience. So, Sorry Microprose.

Well IL-2 does WWII better than DCS in value, but yes for jets DCS is the all time best. They still have a lot of catch up to do to compete better with IL-2.

When the majority are 30% to 50%, and its a plane most never heard of... you'd think they'd wanna sell the damn thing to generate some funds. I mean these are digital products, it's as easy as copy and paste digital files to make more. There's zero cost involved, and if they sold only 100 at 10-20% off, they'd no doubt sell 500 or more at 50% off generating more money in the end. The only reason people buy some of this stuff is completely spur of the moment, and what attracts us to buy stuff we don't use much is the price. At 50% off most would buy it to buy it, and many will fly it for 20 mins and never touch it again for months. They're missing out for sure. No one is gonna blow $60 on a module they never heard of, but at $35 I'd give it a shot, fully knowing I'd likely never fly it much. Do you understand how this stuff works at all?
