I never realized how common that riff is. Sometimes songs will sound similar just because there is a limited number of notes you can put together that can make sense together. Music is very math and logic based, so many musicians have coincidentally come to the same conclusions sonically. With that being said Fried Neckbones by Santana also has a similar riff to Flashman.

I submitted an oddly for this riff. I had no idea there were this many oddlies of this theme before and after Flashman. Some of them were right in front of me too.

1973 Italian movie _Amarcord_ theme by Nino Rota might have its own video. It plays about twice slower than Flash Man. In 2021 it had been the music for the electric Fiat 500 commercial with Leonardo Di Caprio

The middle of Donkey Kong Country 3's Rockface Rumble sounds kinda like Flashman theme as well

WWF Smackdown for PS1 has main menu theme which sounds close to Korn - Wicked and WWF Smackdown 2 - Know Your Role for PS1 has BGM 1 which sounds close to Pantera - Hellbound.

The Spencer Davis Group always comes to my mind when I hear Flash Man’s theme, great list!

@@uncannyx My Dad also played that Herbie Mann album when I was a kid. The drop down notes was one of his favorite parts. Just another set of chords like the Electman song that was always around when I was growing up. Glad you’re making the correlation of them in these videos.

Although it lacks the riff shown off in this video, "Irreconcilably" (Bison's theme) from Street Fighter EX sounds very similar to other parts of Flash Man's theme.

I'm surprise that cue from The Price is Right had a bit of Flashman.

I’m now convinced this must be another example of those old classic jazz riffs that end up getting reused all over the place, even though most people don’t know the original source (along the same lines as "the lick", but to a less extreme degree). I mean, I remember noticing the Metallica similarity right away, and I caught the Sonic 06 one (and promptly dismissed it as just another example of that game’s endemic laziness) while watching a let’s play years back. But I never imagined so damn many different songs used such similar variants of this one melody. O_O

Pendulum - Showdown ...after which, the extremely similar OC Remix "Nuclear Flash" is quite Pendulum-esque, taking it full circle. ;)

Awesome new entry. I knew of the themes of Chicago, The Price is Right & Metalica. But never new of them sounding so familiar with each other. I just wasn't paying attention to this one. And I've been a big fan of the Mega Man series and video game music.

Saxon's Princess of the Night off their Denim and Leather album has a similar breakdown.

I've been waiting years to see "I'm a man" in the mix forever now, and what's really got me this go around is how much I love that Prodigy song Breathe I never made the connection mentally, but now that it's been pointed out, I'll never NOT hear it. Thanks for the dope vid ICC! Peace!

sometimes we hold on to a submission for a while so we can gather a few more, we recently came across 5 or 6 more Flash Man oddly entries so we finally made the video, we saved your comment for like 3 years lol

"Everything sounds like Flash Man" reminds me of the Perdue commercial where they say, "Everything tastes like chicken," and I'm here for it. :D

My father used to tell me how much Flashman's theme sounded like "I'm A Man" from Chicago ever since I was a little kid playing it on my NES. I had no idea there were this many songs that used that same melody.

I dunno what Tateishi is listening to but dang his choices of inspiration for creating this is quite a lot to say.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I feel like Sandy's "I wanna go home" song from SpongeBob sounds quite similar too.
