That theme played at the beginning of this video (Armored Armadillo from Mega Man X I believe) I thought at one time was actually Opus 13 from Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. Yeah they're both oddly familiar.
I'd rate the X1 Boss Select Theme at least a 8/10. Capcom were fans of Tatsunoko so I'd say it was most likely influenced by the Tekkaman Blade theme.
It should be mentioned that the _Peter Gunn_ theme would be directly used in an earlier video game: _Spy Hunter_ for arcades and the NES, among others.

It also made an appearance in Rock 'N Roll Racing, one of the first games to have an entirely licensed soundtrack.
Mega Man burrowed music from Nintendo & Michael Jackson too?! 😱

First SEGA now it’s capcom wow
Found 2 sample-related oddly familiar songs, both non-English: Freeman ft. K-Rhyme Le Roi - "Le Dernier Coup" has a Metal Slug soldier death scream La Mansh - "Poglyad" has a sample shared with Spider-Man PS1's Warehouse 65 theme
Here's something both interesting and funny. Shade Man's theme from Mega Man 7 sounds like (of all things) a mariachi song - "Como Quien Pierde Una Estrella" by Alejandro Fernández. It's very likely coincidence but they DO sound pretty similar.

Holy fuck nice catch, love that song
Hey. Another banger vid! Another Mega Man X2 uncanny song for you, Flame Stag theme song sounds very similar to Deep Purple's song Burn.
To the point where I sometimes call it “Mega Man: Spy Hunter X”.

Took the thought right out of my brain. I had forgotten if the Spy Hunter/Peter Gunn connection had been done yet

@@bedwablackburn Also, has anyone noticed that Crush Crawfish's theme in both the Saturn and SNES versions of X3 sounds like the Power Rangers theme?

I had not... That's a great point.

@@bedwablackburn Also, Cyber Maze Core from X5 is like Reisen’s theme from Touhou, Lunatic Eyes - Invisible Full Moon.
I anticipated Big Blue and Peter Gunn a few seconds before you confirmed them.
The Guns n' Roses names for the Megaman X5 mavericks was a localization-only thing. The story goes that the person doing the localizing had a partner who was very into Guns n' Roses and they changed the names just to surprise them, or something to that effect. But they were definitely not named with any involvement of any composers.

And the person in question doing the localization was voice actress Alyson Court, who played Lydia on the Beetlejuice cartoon, and Jubilee on the 90s X-Men cartoon... And Claire Redfield in Capcom's own Resident Evil games!

@@psychoandy That's an extra tidbit I did not know! Neat!
Outstanding video!
IMO the tunnel rhino theme beginning sounds closer to Danzig - Mother
2:01 It also sounds like the opening riff to Hot Stuff by Donna Summer.
The "Shipmeister's Shanty" theme from the original PlayStation version of "Kingdom Hearts II" sounds similar to both the "Neon Tiger Stage" theme from the PlayStation 1 version of "Mega Man X3" and the "Sigma Fortress 3 [Palace Hall]" theme from "Mega Man X" of Super NES. What if that were at your new "Oddly Familiar" video's first and second music similarity part, Uncanny X?
The intro of Armored Armadillo from MMX1 also contains a brief Peter Gunn sample (albeit a different part, and a little more subtle). ;-)
@Uncanny X For another Oddly Familiar track check out Chun-Li's Ending song (around the 40 second mark) and it sounds very close to the song "Love, Need and Want You" by Patti LaBelle (around the 2 minute 35 second mark), the similarity is even closer if you check out Nelly's song "Dilemma" which sampled Patti LaBelle's melody
I wouldnt be surprised if the X3 intro also sounds like other songs. MJ kind of sampled a lot of his music as well.
Oh the megaman ones are back, love this ones.
Mega man x3 ps1 intro also sounds like Killer Instinct theme, like a 5 or 4/10, also mega man 4 new weapon theme sounds like Cars by Gary Numan and mega man 9 staff roll like Goodbye Geno from Mario RPG
At number 6 we got one from mega man 9. “Nice!”
There's actually a segment in Beat It right before the guitar solo that sounds much closer to the segment from the X3 FMV
The Sigma Fortress theme also sounds a bit like the Mortal Kombat tekno theme.
Found an oddly familiar song; the intro guitar riff to the song 'Alect Squadron' from the PSP game Ace Combat X Skies Of Deception sounds quite similar to the intro riff to Iron Maiden's 'Two Minutes To Midnight'. It's at least a 5 on the oddly scale.
Yo, these songs are really good.
Tunnel rhino stage also sounds like Danzig’s Mother
Reminder that Dynasty Warriors 4's Parade of Death has a part that sounds oddly familiar to Yngwie Malmsteen's Red Devil intro.
Web Spider’s theme from MMX4 sounds like “A Seed’s a Star/Tree Medley” by Stevie Wonder.
Jag vet jag kommer skriva det här på svenska istället men när jag lyssnade Great Battle 4 ost tills jag lyssnade på floating world martom (Dance Hall) den låter exakt lik 2 unlimited tribal Dance
09:00 | I can't hear that at all. For me it's rather Bon Jovi's "She Don't Know Me".
#9 I would of gone with “mother” by danzig
Respect
Beat it by Michael Jackson was my favorite song that makes me smile and makes me happy when I dance since my childhood.

What's awesome is that sick guitar solo was done by the legendary Van Halen,

"Yo, this Songs are really good!"
The Mega Man X franchise has such killer soundtracks. I just wish the games weren't glorified animal cruelty p***.
