First Time Trying Oil Pastels | Drawing A Pumpkin

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

Recently got a killer deal on some oil pastels that I couldn't pass up so thought I would draw a pumpkin using oils pastels for the first time and share my experience or lack there of with this medium.
It was definitely an experience I will remember for quite a while and hope you enjoy my recap of the process and journey I went through. This is a bit of a fun video and not so serious because sometimes you just have to laugh at the process when things are going not quite as you would like.
I do give a few tips on the way and what I learned throughout the video. I hope you enjoy watching my journey and pick up a tip or two along the way.
Hope everyone has a Happy and Safe Thanksgiving and Holiday Season!

Way to go Wendi. Try using colour shapers for the final details. It works for me and my oil pastels. 😊 you hit the nail on the head, needed enough layers to get that blend to move. For the first layers I use my fingers or a large well used paper stump. You did a great first job. 👍

Thank you so much. Yeah I think I’m a way it’s a bit more fun to do it that way but can be a bit more frustrating but the things you learn during that process definitely stick with you 🤣🤣🤣

Oil pastels were my favourite medium when I was in school. I tried them first when I picked up drawing again 3 years ago and couldn’t figure out why I had liked them so much back then. Haven’t used them since 😄 Good job though on your pumpkin. It was a very entertaining video too.

Thanks so much. Yes I sometimes wonder what possessed me to give it a go but glad I did.
