The Righteous Brothers had a big hit with "Unchained Melody" in 1965. Home Free did such a beautiful rendition of this classic song. They added an old school doo-wop feel to it. The video in prison is very fitting as this song was originally written for the 1955 prison film "Unchained". The film centered on a man who contemplates either escaping from prison to live life on the run or finishing his sentence and returning to his wife & family.

The reason they are in cells is because Unchained Melody is from the prison movie Unchained. And, yes, the style is Do Wop as is their rendition of Blue Ain't Your Color, which also features their fine dance moves.

I had to go look that song up on KZread and listen to it so that I could hear the vocal range of the singers. Compared to the original it is extremely close to how the Righteous Brothers did it. Like how they used to sing it before the one of them broke his voice and had to have surgery, From then on the song Never sound the same. 🤗

Home Free did great by the Rightous Brothers when they did this song. I dont prefer one over the other buut i will say its hard to beat the Rightous Brothers. The one brother performed this song live with no autotune or production and it was the first time the song was performed live and he nailed it perfectly. Thats hard to beat. Again i still love and appreaciate Home Free. And im sorry but i gotta ask. You didnt put all of Home Free in the PDC? They all belong there.
