@@greenshp He does. While he is double-tracked on some studio songs, he actually went through this straight, including the jet overflight sound you hear at the end. He nearly passed out from the performance. His drum sounds and style are renowned globally, and includes not only a full drum kit, but the skill to play a full compliment of techniques (brush strokes, rim shots, etc.), such that I've seen professional drummers react to his videos by saying they'd be hard-pressed to play the same on their kit You'll also be stunned by his 'no'monica and catalog of other sound effects.

I loved this, when Lee Greenwood first brought this out. My first introduction to Home Free was when they recorded this in front of Mt. Rushmore. I thought it was as good as the original and couldn't get better. Then this recording came out.I'm a 72 year old US Army brat. My dad was career Army, served in China/India/Burma. I was born after he was shipped to the Korean War. Listening to this fills me with pride, and I get choked up every time hearing this.

My son is serving and spent the covid years in Germany. My brother, wife, father, uncles, father-in-law have all served (as have I) and this song ALWAYS brings a tear to my eye. They sang this song at church services in boot camp and EVERYBODY sang with them - it was AMAZING! Freedom isn't free, it's been paid for by the lives of the men and women who stood the line to protect it.

So...I cannot listen to this song unless I'm in a certain mood. They play this at every memorial they have for my Dad, and it takes all I have to keep it together. My dad (Capt. Steven Bennett) was killed in Vietnam when he was 26 years old. I was 2. He posthumously received the Medal of Honor, and I am so very proud to be his only child. The words you spoke in this reaction brought me to tears even more so than Lee Greenwood's song did. Thank you for saying everything you said. The fact that these people CAN be disrespectful to others is BECAUSE of the men and women who have given their all to defend them. A little respect from them while they are bashing our country would go a long way. God bless my Dad. God bless ALL who have served. God bless this country. We must stand strong to defend her and those protecting her.

You should maybe do some reactions to some of those. The drill teams are AWESOME. Another thing you might consider reacting to is The Tomb of The Unknown Soldier. It is very detailed and disciplined honoring the unknown service members. Check it all out.

I joined the US Navy in 1992 and it was the first time I had been away from home for such and extended amount of time. While I was in boot camp, every Sunday morning we could go to church service if we chose too and at the end of every service, this song would play and I think every person in the church was singing. It was just a comfort being so far from home and I think the service and the song helped a lot of young sailors out there. 53 years old now and this song still gives me chills and makes be tear up every time I hear it. God Bless the USA and God Bless you.

Hon, there are two patriotic songs that always make me tear up. This one and the National Anthem. I am a naturalized citizen and I have lived in several countries outside of the US and I definitely agree with your statements. I always love your honest heartfelt reactions.

I am 61 years old, was an Army Brat (well, once a Brat, always a Brat), whose earliest childhood memories involve the Berlin Wall because we were stationed there for a while, and seeing your reaction to this incredible rendition of this equally incredible song (thank you, Lee Greenwood), made me emotional. It makes my heart happy any time I see a young adult emote love for this great country and our great God as freely and unapologetically as you. By the way, another video that I would love to see you react to along the same lines as God Bless the USA is the Gaither Vocal Band's Let Freedom Ring. Especially the one in which they are performing at an event honoring First Responders at, I think, Carnegie Hall. You won't be disappointed.

Watch/listen again to this video. When Rob comes in on the line 'from the lakes of Minnesota', it couldn't be more appropriate since Rob is from Minnesota. Same thing with Tim when he starts singing 'across the plains of Texas', given that he is from Texas. One final almost unnoticeable thing about Adam's incredible beat boxing skills - especially beyond his perfection of drum sounds... At the end of the song when everyone is building to a wonderful crescendo, Adam brings in the sound of a jet fly by. To come even half close to the real sound of jets flying overhead is simply amazing. The man's talent is mind-boggling.

That was President Andrew Jackson's home! It is beautiful! I have been there! Lee Greenwood still sounds as good as ever! And what about HOMEFREE? They are AWESOME, as usual! I have been a fan from their first time on the t.v. show that they won! And of course, the Air Force Band! What else can anyone say! I really have to really brag on HOMEFREE, with this! They have performed with Lee Greenwood on this song many times before, and I am always impressed. However the Air Force Band adds so much to it! I am so very proud to be an AMERICAN!

Britt, about the Air Force band in this song . . . every branch of the military has their own band & choirs. When I was in HS, back in the 60's(!), I went to a concert of the US Marine Band. They are called The President's Own Band. I played clarinet in my HS's band and was very into band music. I played clarinet for more than 20 yrs and loved it. That Band was so great and I can still picture it like it was yesterday! Also, there are lots of videos here on YT that you would just love from about 2014 of the Navy's band and choir. In some of them, they are playing in an outdoor venue (looks like a park) and are playing music from Jersey Boys. That's the smash hit from the Broadway musical about Frankie Valli & The Four Seasons with music from the 60's. I don't know if you've done any of their music or not but you should. They were one of only 2 bands that survived the British Invasion back in the 1960's along with the Beach Boys. The Four Seasons have a long and varied song list and you will love them. Their very first #1 hit was Sherry followed by their #1 hit named Big Girls Don't Cry then their next #1 hit of Walk Like a Man. Three #1s in a row to start their career -- which was a record at the time. Anyhoo, back to about the Navy band -- they sing songs from the play and it is hilarious! They are as talented as this Air Force Band. I recommend anything by one or a bunch of their numbers. Love ya . . . Keep it up. From your Kansas friend, Odie! 🌻 🌻 🌻 ❤

The "gorgeous house" in Nashville is actually Castle Recording Studios in Franklin, TN (a little south of Nashville proper). It was originally a mansion for a Chicago mobster and after his death in the 1940's,it housed several businesses over the years. Eventually in the 80's it was converted to a recording studio.

This song from Mr. Greenwood resonated with me from the first time i heard it ... most likely on a military base. I'm a retired airman, then a government contractor, and now an air force civilian. This still pumps me up a lot of years later. To add the AF Band (Singing Sergeants, i think) and Home Free to support Mr. Greenwood and let him sing a new version was icing on the cake. Yes, i watched the premier, and several times since.

It's an emotional song love... if it doesn't elicit emotion then the person doesn't care or isn't really listening. It's who we are. It's what our country is & represents; Liberty. Either one gets it, or they don't. It's why we'll stand together, forever - to defend Her.

The Air Force Band actually divided into several different "groups". These singers are (I believe) known as "The Singing Sergeants". If you're interested in some more from the Air Force Band, I would recommend their rock group "Max Impact". Some of their songs are: Locked and Loaded, Send Me, and I Am An American Airman. And yes, I'm proud to say that I'm an Air Force veteran.

A Beautiful Reaction ❤🤍💙 We played this song at my Mom's funeral because she loved it so much and it was once of her favorite songs. It always brought a tear to her eye and the funny thing was - she wasn't even American, we're Canadian. This and many American patriotic songs are UNIVERSAL in message and resonate with everyone.
