The Sing-Off essentially told them they were guaranteed a spot on the show if they would label themselves as Country. They sing everything! If you haven’t yet, check out their performance with Don McLean recording the 50th anniversary of The Day the Music Died.

They are the country a cappella group, Voiceplay are the theatre kids and Pentatonix are like the popular kids. Rob and Austin also did opera. The video is two country dudes try to do opera. Of course it was🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥They promote themselves as good old country boys, they are proud of their roots.

The Sing Off producers, having heard them do a Country song highly encouraged them to "Go Country" since, "No one in acapella does Country!" They said, "OK!" and the rest is history. They could sing the ingredients form a cereal box and make it a hit!! You are a delightful young lady and I'm tickled you've joined this family of Home Fries!

The guys in order from left to right. Adam Chance baritone, goes by Chance. He was doing the bass in this song. Tim Foust bass, with a 5 octave range. Austin Brown sky high tenor. Rob Lundquist lead tenor (beard and glasses). And last but definitely not least is Adam Rupp the beatboxer and only founding member of the group that started in 2000. This song was written by Tim, Austin, Chris Chatham and Adam Wakefield. They came out on The Sing Off as a country band. Enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.

The Sing Off was a contest show for acapella groups. Pentatonix won the 3rd season, Home Free won season 4 and Voiceplay also appeared on season 4 but did not win. Home Free did not originally plan on being a "Country All Vocal Group" but after hearing a couple country songs on their demo reel, the producers of The Sing Off approached them about being labeled Country with the assurance that they would most certainly be on the show. They tried seasons prior and never made the show...they have since embraced it.

I’ve seen them twice live….they’re so good. Yeah Tim’s voice is something else. They say that when he is in a restaurant, women turn around to see who’s speaking that bass. You’re one of the few to remark on his speaking voice. Well they were on the Sing Off and won that season (2013) and they were pegged as a country group. Three of the guys are from the south, Tim from Texas, Austin (man bun) is from Georgia and Chance (ball cap) is from Alabama. Rob (glasses) and Adam (beatboxer) are from Minnesota. They sing a lot of country songs but they can sing all genres for sure. Try Die a Happy Man, When You Walk In, Life is a Highway, to hear a little more country. This one is one of their originals. Tim and Austin write a lot of their songs. Good reaction!😍

When they were competing on "The Sing Off" in 2013, one of the shows producers suggested they focus on country music since they are mostly country fellows and there wasn't much in the way of A Capella "Country" groups. They thought it would be good for the show and perhaps for the group. They thought it over and agreed. All their fans however know they can pretty much do whatever they want as an A Capella group. I believe "Rob" was the only one that was a "city" guy.

Britt you are amazing! You always make me smile, laugh, or cry with you. I love you on the country journey you are on. I am a huge country fan from classic to today's country. Home Free is the only country acapella group and they have an under tone of country and they love the country genre. You need to add to your list to do a non-cover they just came out with called "So Long Dixie". It is about how they grew up in the south but they can't continue to support the south in the current journey and you being from the south like me you may agree with them too. Check it out and I look forward to your next video.

The bass line comes out of Tim's mouth or if he's on lead it comes from Chance's mouth 😂

You should definitely react to their Sing-Off performances. The videos that include the judges’ comments are best. They do sing various genres, but they generally have a “country” twist on most of them.

You have to watch them on the Sing Off. Especially the Ring of Fire performance. The song from Caddyshack will blow your mind. I’m Alright!

Britt you are right! They are not totally country...they sing all type of genres though they do more country but they do a ton that is not country too.

I agree Brit. They can do a lot of genres but a huge majority of their stuff is country. Country is their roots. They started off doing county and state fairs. Then went on the Sing off and won season 4. Pentatonix won season 3. Voice Play also competed on the show (season 4 also I think). As they have gotten bigger and more seasoned, I think their style has become more varied. Austin is the one with the Man Bun. He has his own channel and does a lot of solo stuff.

Loved the reaction. I suggest checking out another live performance of Go Rest High on that Mountain. I have a good recording on my channel, but there are a number of good ones out there. That song really shows off Rob’s voice on lead.

They have some live show videos that are just a lot of fun. I'd recommend looking up their version of Honey I'm Good live, specifically the version called "Tim Foust's Vibration". He shakes the whole place in that one. Another one is their cover of Josh Turner's Your Man. Tim breaks a speaker in that one. Aside from those two, they have a few live performance videos up, and they have a drum solo from Adam Rupp as well.

If you like raw live performance - this is as raw it can be: kzread.info/dash/bejne/haOKqLKvoJu8mJc.html They had to cancel a concert because of bad weather but wanted to give the audience something at least. No microphones, a strong wind in the background and no chance to fix the sound. They sang How Great Thou Art and sounded not perfect but wonderful! ;-)

Pentatonix won Season 3 of The Sing Off. Committed won Season 2. A group called 'Nota' from Puerto Rico won Season 1, and a College group from Vanderbilt called the Melodores won Season 5 (the last season for the show). The show ran from 2009 to 2014. There wasn't a show in 2012. And yes, they can do all genres. One of their recent ones is "Listen to the Music' from The Doobie Brothers. And they do that one justice too!

Yes, they can sing any kind of song. They had to identify themselves as a country vocal band when they appeared on the scene off. Because the show like the idea of them be the only country band. And They blew the judges away on the show with their talent . You can pull up they're performances on that show just put in sing off season 4.

They definitely lean country and toward country artists but they can sing all genres. Some country to check out: Bless the Broken Road (Rascal Flatts cover) Crazy (Patsy Cline cover) Hillbilly Bone (Blake Shelton cover) There are more but these were just off the top.of my head. Would love to see you react to these.

There is no baseline, but they could still use a 'click track' via their inner ear pieces. I don't know IF they use such a tool, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did. Plenty of bands use it.
