BB King said: "playing the blues is like having to be black twice. Stevie Ray Vaughan missed on both counts, but I never noticed.”
It’s really incomprehensible that someone who possesses so much life can cease to be.

To me he is immortal, imagine what could have come next. It boggles my mind.
Fun fact about this video is he actually broke his tooth after using his teeth to play the guitar. He even starts looking for it on the ground and you can see him mouth to someone off stage “my tooth, gone!” 😂 yet he never stopped performing and kept it 100% real, raw and full of amazement. RIP to the GOAT.

@@theakos6174yeah I think he broke his tooth because of the heavy gauge strings he used, he used the heaviest strings on his guitar

fun fact. it was the last song of their first set...it was also my 16th birthday and my best friend and I were 2nd row center stage at this very show..extra karma..the guitar he started the song with broke a string and how ironic the guitar he switched to was the one given to him by the person he wrote this song for... Charlie Wirz of Charley's Guitar Shop in NW Dallas, Tx.
@charlessarver8350

@@sickheadjoker1421 at that time he likely was but contrary to popular belief he didn't always use heavy gauge strings and the last several years of his playing he had actually gone down to 9 gauge because even at that point the heavy strings were taking a toll on his hands and Angel Ramirez his guitar tech told him if he didn't start playing a lighter gauge it would get to the point he wouldn't be able to play at all.
By far the most melodic song Stevie ever wrote. Everytime I hear it feels like I'm just flowing on a cosmic highway. Wish this song got more love.
He was clean and sober here… it was a very, very, very hard road for him. Look how healthy he looks. Oh, I miss him so much. ❤
GOAT!!! Rest easy SRV
Stevie died sober/cleaned up. Crash and he was out of here. Amazing how the good , in this case , the best die young. RIP
Those words Stevie spoke were from his heart. People compare him back and forth to other guitar greats, but it was Stevie's heart and soul, his genuine love for others that set him apart. You know it when you see it. And you see it here. R I P beautiful man.

Have you ever gone to the Experience Music Project in Seattle? They have Jimi Hendrix’s letters he wrote to his family. What I took away from reading them was that he was truly a great person and extremely intelligent. It is uplifting to know some of these great talents should also be admired for their humanity.

"Making adjustments on stage" ... We call that GOAT swagger.
Stevie wrote this song about the death of a good friend. This friend actually built a guitar for him (a beautiful white one) which he usually uses to play this tribute song. For some reason, he started the song with another guitar, and then was not satisfied with the sound. He quickly switched guitars to the white one, and continued this magnificent performance.

I was lucky enough to be at this concert, if my mother knew where I was I would still be grounded. I was 15 taking a 117 mile bus ride to go to this concert...that message has stuck with me for over 37 years!
Broke out his tooth and kept on playing. Such a kind soul he was; R.I.P. Stevie
There's an interview of him on KZread where when asked about always giving his all when performing, he said it's because you never know when it may be your last... We are all so glad he did.
I got to meet SRV in 1985 when my dad played backup guitar for the country (then country-rock) band Alabama. It was in a hole in the wall blues club in central Florida. He put his hat on my little head and told me I look like a "real rocker." It was so awesome as a kid, but I didn't realize how special it was until I was grown
Srv!! Truly awesome

No one lives forever but his music will live on forever
He and his guitar were connected like a phone and Bluetooth! One together!!!
Lord have mercy, I think, even an out of tune note is just another note in his arsenal of blues perfection…. I swear he could take an out of tune guitar, make that thing, scream and cry with perfection, and we would all think it’s just absolutely normal.
Best guitar player of all time in my opinion, his version of little wing is the most amazing thing I've ever heard on guitar.
SRV gots soul man. Love listening to him.
This is such a timeless rendition of this song. You could have picked many but you probably chose the best.
I agree that Stevie Ray Vaughn was an amazing talent. I discovered him after his passing. What a loving message from Stevie in this performance.
If I could own any of Steve's guitars, it'd be this one. The artwork on the back is beautiful too.
I absolutely adore the way he hits you with that beautiful message then proceeds to melt your face off with his awesomeness. That’s class y’all, pure class.
He lives forever still moving souls long after the earth exsperiance. So really in a way he lives forever.
I was lucky enough to see him twice live before he passed. Each time was a religious experience. He is the GOAT IMHO.
Such a heartfelt performance

👍😊❣️Love Stevie Ray!!!❣️
Only one word ... beautiful. Also, a beautiful soul no longer with us music lovers ... R.I.P.
He broke a tooth here at the end playing with his teeth. One of his best performances..
U will never forget this song
Amazing how he breaks a string, looks to to his side, points to the guitar that he wants brought to him, then his guitar tech brings him the guitar and they change guitars mid stream of the song never missing a note or thing in his singing then when he gets a break in the vocals he goes and adjust the sound to the new guitar and just continues to blow everybody away!
At 2:00 he motions to have another guitar 🎸 brought out. He used to do that if he didn't like the sound or couldn't tune it to his standard. He also used 13 gauge strings while most guitarist used 9 gauge. He used thicker size strings to accommodate his aggressive style of playing. Check out Look Little Sister and Texas Flood live. Amazes me how many people don't catch the guitar change.
Big Stevie Ray fan but for me the talent shines in the quiet moments. "Lenny" and "Rivera Paradise" are two of my favs.
One of the greatest guitar change out after popping a string that you will ever see!!!!!! He didn’t miss a beat and if you weren’t watching closely you can miss it!!!! Priceless!!!! So says Austin Tx!!!!! 😎🍸🎸🎸🎸🎸
Stevie and his guitar melded into one. This is a truly beautiful song and SRVs voice is so good in this one. When he started talking to the crowd, his message touched me so deeply, he was absolutely right. What a beautiful soul....Nice reaction!
I could not have enjoyed this more.

SRV was a total genius, and a legend! May he Rest In Peace 🙏✌️ ps, love your reactions my friend!
I miss your face, your voice and your fierce talent, kind Sir!💜🔥
Loved the reaction Polo my brother. I am 65, SRV was here in my home town when I was in my rock heyday, and I didn't know about him. I watched in concert Lynyrd Skynyrd, Ronnie Montrose, Ted Nugent, ZZ Top, Peter Frampton, and others...but stupidly missed SRV. Now I own many of his DVD's and I cherish them. He is just flat out amazing. I urge you to research him on KZread. You will find that he doesn't just play the the chords, or notes, or whatever the hell they are, he catches strings on the backstroke, he moves strings with those strong fingers. He has very thick strings on his guitar because he can bend them with those super strong fingers. There is much more to his sound than meets the eye, and very few could even begin to play his custom guitars at all, let alone the way he does. Love your vids Polo - Mike in Albuquerque
"Leave my Girl Alone" Live is a great SRV performance no one reviews. His tone in that one is really amazing.
II have never heard a guitar that screamed so much for love between all people!!!
Ok,so now we talking about real music ,a one of s kind genius of guitar, music and style ❤️
Saw him live when I was 15. I’ll never forget it. He was like a god to watch.
First time seeing this video. I remember the day he passed from this life to his next journey. He had an incredible talent and most importantly a kind and giving spirit.
So swaggy here, my favorite! But don't miss "Tin Pan Alley" with Johnny Copeland. It's amazing!
Been listening to Stevie for decades. Such a tragic loss.
Cudos to Rene Martinez, who made that guitar swap out so seamless.
Stevie Hated Being Referred To As A "God"....He Was Exceeding Humble In His Talent & Celebrity....Stevie Was Greatly Gifted As A Musician But Also With A Special Soul A Huge Heart... I Miss Him To This Day! Soul💞Soul, Stevie💗😘
My favorite SRV song. He breaks a tooth during this.
Glad you brought up Stevie's singing. He's kind of like Joe Bonamassa, so amazing on the guitar that it's easy to miss how good of a singer he is. Love your reactions and sense of humor.
Fabulous melodic use of feedback..a genius of tonal eloquence... Magnificent
Religious experience ❤
I can’t say SRV is the best ever but he’s certainly in my top 10. Too many great ones to say he’s the GOAT, but it’s a great conversation to have. Great reaction Polo. 🔥🎸
I was absolutely overjoyed seeing you reacted to this song in particular. This was one of many songs that my brother and I chose to have played at our dad's funeral. It has taken everything I have to avoid crying. Especially since this is probably the best version of it I've ever heard. I'm so thrilled to keep seeing people my age and younger discover the greatness that was and still is SRV.
This is top of the list for songs to be played at my funeral! RIP SRV
SRV was amazing. Died too young would love to see the music he would be putting out today. Check out Texas flood by him if you haven’t already, you won’t be disappointed
Choosing who the best Guitarist is, is like choosing your favorite fruit. Some like apples, some like oranges, and others may like pears. They're all good, just enjoy what each one brings to the table.
Stevie is so awesome its easy to forget how great Tommy, Chris and Reese are. Let’s hear it for Double Trouble! And Ceasar for the flawless guitar change! SRV rules.
Thank you 💗
The best…..
SRV was an amazing guitarist, but I'd love to hear your reaction to a very underappreciated guitarist (at least by the general public), the legendary Rory Gallagher. Held in high esteem by Brian May, Slash, Johnny Marr, Joe Bonamassa and many others, Rory was an master guitarist. Try checking out the ultra cool "Calling Card" from the 1977 Hammersmith Odeon performance or the hot "Do You Read Me?" form the 1979 Rock Goes to College performance. Those are both great introductions. Any pretty much anything from the 1974 Irish Tour is pretty spectacular as well.
Jimi Hendrex was his Idol and the reason he started playing guitar. Jimi used to play behind his back, so Stevie wanted to do the same.
4:21. Immediately gets SRV stank face. It just comes natural Edit: Best reaction to a piece of music I've seen. Subbed. Nicely done, sir.
SRV is very special to me, I'm so glad you did this performance! keep up the great work Polo!
I've been waiting for this one 👌
I had the honor to see SRV in 1984 in New Haven, CT from about 5 feet away and, of the 150 shows I’ve seen, this was my most favorite ever. People overuse the word “legend” but this one is deserved when you mention Stevie. Big ❤ for him still. RIP SRV
I knew you would appreciate this one. This is one of my favorite performances by Stevie. Awesome message on top of an awesome performance.
RiP to that tooth that Stevie lost playing this amazing solo!!!
It would be great to get a reaction for Albert King & SRV - Born Under A Bad Sign ( In Session).
I live in the Dallas area and was fortunate as a young kid to see him numerous times. He died when I was in high school. Those shows I saw him at will always be a part of me and I thank my mom for taking me to these shows with her!!
You will love his Little Wing video live at El Mocambo
If you ever wanted to see someone do something at their very best and doing what they love. This is it!
SRV is my favorite guitarist, because he brings so much passion, soul and creativity through his instrument. His touch is incredible! i always play this song on the anniversary of my mom's passing. Such a beautiful song. You should check out his cover of Jimi Hendrix's Little Wing. He turns a 2:20 epic song by Jimi into a 7 minute masterpiece! Truly one of my favorite covers of all time! If you want to check some amazing but less heralded guitarists, check out Jeff Healey and Eric Gales!
The guitar switch was flawless. There will be another SRV.
Incredible musician. Good guy
Amazing performance, Stevie nearly died from drug and alcohol addiction a year after this concert. You can see how sluggish his performance is compared to how he played after he quit drugs. His concerts post 1986 are even more amazing.
If you like Stevie you should listen to his version of little wing !
