Nobody like Stevie Ray. He always lifts my spirit . He was so talented and had such a kind soul. He makes us Texans so proud!

Yes yes 💎💎 granddad use to see him walking down the streets (downtown Austin Texas) with his guitar on his back. Ironically my granddad poured the cement for his statue out here too after his passing.

I was at his last two shows. By the time he played this song he had already taken me and many others to a spiritual place. This song was climactic each time he played it. Greatest concert experience ever!

D. I first met Stevie when I was at the University of Texas in the late 70s and he was sleeping on pool tables. The world didn't know who he was yet. I saw him in LA about 2 weeks before the crash. You can tell he wasn't happy with the guitars in this song. He finishes playing #2, but the start was not with #1. The Live at El Macambo is some of his best in my opinion.

I was at his second to last show at Alpine Valley East Troy Wisconsin.. Robert Cray Opened then SRV And Clapton closed it with everybody coming on stage and Jamming!

Was planning to go to what turned out to be his last show with a friend of mine. Decided not to at the last minute. Dumbest decision of my life.

Stevie poured his heart and soul into his music. He is astounding when he shreds...but my personal favorite is his live (Austin, TX) performance of Riviera Paradise, which he dedicated to "anyone who is suffering in any way". He pours all the hurt, healing, compassion and tenderness out in such a beautiful way! And Reese is at his very best. Hope you can check out Riviera Paradise live.

At 10:30 of your video you can see Stevie turn to the side of the stage and say “ I lost my Tooth”. Saw Stevie in Seattle 1985. RIP Stevie gone but never forgotten.

Yep, he can break guitar strings, lose a tooth, and keep on playing and never miss a note and still be the best ever! Man I would give anything to have seen him in person.

He was born to be on a stage and entertain us, but Way to short time , we all miss SRV

SRV is my all time favorite of all categories. I love the message is not scripted. It is straight from his heart. Every performance has words but the message of love is the same. After he cleaned up he also included not to do drugs or drink in this message. But still kept the love for everyone in there as well. He was a humble and amazing person. And yes, if you watch it back, pay attention to when he broke his tooth and just grins and tell his crew off stage... lost my tooth...gone. And still continues to finish the song. No one comes close to him in my opinion.

It was a cap, Stevie never took care of his teeth, and by the time of his breakdown all of his teeth were either replaced or capped.

And please don’t wait so long to check him out again!!!!!!

SRV ~ 🎸🐐 Guitar change, one-handed, behind the back, broke a tooth, inspirational speech....dude was THE goat. The song was written by Stevie as a tribute to Charlie Whirz, his guitar tech. Charlie had passed away so this was Stevie's song for him. The white Strat is named Charlie. Stevie was talking about the apartheid in South Africa during the 80's. The message still applies today regardless of country.

From Dallas. Had several guitars from Charlie's Guitar Shop. He had my mid-70s Les Paul autographed by SRV and sealed under urethane. Takes me way back.

This man was a gift from God...period! thanks for it all SRV!!!

We truly lost a gift when he passed!!! But it's such a blessing knowing he was saved by God's grace before he left us!!!! So inspiring!!!

SRV band was so tight , not only Stevie was outstanding , but all the member were so Damn good , what a close, on this number , outstanding

I grew up in Austin. In my 20's one of the houses I lived in, I found out while reading SRV's biography "caught in the crossfire" that he had written "pride & joy" & several other songs off the first album just a street or two from where I was reading the book. I got goosebumps. And I used to see his brother Jimmy drive his lowered black Chevy duly w/ flames on the hood in the neighborhood all the time.

If I could bring anybody back, it’d be srv. Saw him half dozen times and when I watch vids like this I sadly think of when and where I was when I heard the news. My soul plummets. F’n helicopters.

Oh Chod, I am so happy you finally got to this song. I think it is my favorite, for sure. So much of his personality comes out. One thing that people who knew him personally always agreed upon was how kind, warm, and respectful he was to everyone he met--no matter their station in life. That certainly comes out in this song. The words from the song "all the love you passed our way" are engraved on the stone covering his grave. Once again, you did a great reaction. It is heartening seeing the legacy passed on. Stevie Ray was/is a one of a kind talent.. There's a verse in this song that's also on his tombstone. The words are: "Thank you for all the love you passed our way". Great song..

Stevie spirit still moves me all these years later. I have seen this song performed later in his career where he talks about how he overcame his drug addiction and it was a powerful testimonial. SRV lives on forever brothers and sisters.

Love Stevie. His jazziest piece, made after he got sober, is "Riviera Paradise" The whole band is fabulous in it.

Stevie Ray Vaughn wrote this song for his friend Charley Wirz who was a mentor and helped Stevie in how he designed his guitars and who died of a heart attack. He named the guitar Charley after his friend thie white one he changed to. He is my favorite guitarist but I love the man even more because of how he helped so many people after he got sober in the fall of 1986 with bass player and best friend Tommy Shannon. A good gentle humble soul.

I saw SRV when he opened for Ray Charles in Seattle Festival for $7.50. I didnt know who he was but we were blown away and were drenched afterward. Had ticket for upcoming tour but we lost that beautiful human before i could. Bless SRV

I was at this show :) I was lucky enough to see SRV many, many times. I'm so glad to see a new generation listening to him. He was a very sweet, soft spoken, kind & humble man, too. RIP

i saw srv in Arlington Texas in 84 my first srv concert me being a yankee from bk ny all my friends i meet told me about srv never heard of him i was like ok me being a big jimmi hendrix fan said alright lets go se him we did and this man blew me away he is one of the greatest of all time no if not the goat he did this song at the end of the concert when he came to the last solo he put his hat on the mic and went into the solo best time of my life loved him then and love him more now rip and thank you srv the goat

YEAH.. That organ DROVE behind that riff and gave it that awesome almost like haunting sound. Im 54 and been listening to this man my whole life and i just stumbled across this performance today. This is about the 10th reaction video ive watched because i love this video that much. You can listen to SRV and like him, but if you watch him you will FALL IN LOVE HIM..

Imo he wasn't appreciated as much as he deserved on this earth, but he was good with that. He looked high on this vid, and probably so, but his heart was bared when he spoke and I just know he's looking down from the heavens even more grateful for his life than he ever was. He IS missed every day and his music and msgs have become a part of the souls of many. Not to mention that the smooth southern attitude behold a badass, I'm sure lol.

It's also my favorite song by him! His message came from his heart! I've heard him change the words within his message on other performances of the same song! So his message isn't scripted to the point that the same saying is heard! The GOAT of GOATS!

🐐 SRV represented the southern blues clubs and our blended culture of artist like no other . By far the greatest and the sweet Dirty South still is listening and new listeners are being exposed and taken to church by Stevie everyday, his skills are un matched ! ❤

It takes time to listen to 40 years worth of great, great music. From the 1950's to 1990's was wall to wall great singers and bands, no exaggeration. The weekly top 100 was loaded with these songs, and never lacking in quality. The artist were inspired by each other, their personal experiences and social issues. It was more of a mutual respect than a competion.

All true!! If we could just get these kids today off computers, tv, social media, & xbox games...they might just pick up an instrument & learn to play it. Then & only then, will we ever have great bands & music again!!

More than 30 years since I heard SRV for the first time. I was just starting to play guitar. On my best day, I'm still not half as good as he was. They don't make music or musicians like him today... just a lot of us doing our best to honor his memory and carry the torch.

Beautiful song..written by Stevie for his friend Charlie...hence changed his guitar to the white one he named Charlie after his friend. Stunning lyrics...”Angels have waited for so long, now they have their way...” ☹️ cud easily apply to Stevie ...on his grave is the words “Thanks for all the love you passed our way”...another line from this song....such talent , just the tip of I suspect a very big iceberg that we never had the honour of experiencing...RIP SRV ur forever missed 🥰☹️❤️❤️

I got to see him 3 times, the first time when he was just hitting the national scene big time with the first album, the last time was right after this was released. Best live performer I ever saw... with Robin Trower being the second best.

That was real cool. I got to see him live 7 times. Some people stalked the Dead. I stalked Stevie. Didn't really stalk him, just went to see him when he came to NY. I saw him from a small club show to Madison Square Garden. He got me naturally high.

Stevie Reminds me of Jimi Hendrix playing behind his back. Both were Master Guitarists and both died too soon. Learning from so many Black blues guitarists... Stevie’s speech...particularly by a white Southerner was meaningful because he saw a lot of racism.

This my favorite of his too.

You must check out Stevie doing Life by the drop. It’s a life story about addiction and cleaning up and it’s acoustic. It is a really moving song if you have seen what it’s about.

Probably my favorite performance from them. SRV's amazing playing and words of wisdom; are so moving. It blesses my spirit when people use their platform for love. Also there's no tighter rhythm section than Tommy and Chris; and they were groovin' hard in the pocket!

He was a master, of emotion, of technique and as always It’s all about his tone as well... some can recreate one or two but all three?

This is my favorite, too. I also like Texas Flood, Tin Pan Alley, and Crossfire. Have you heard/watched Stevie Ray's performance of Stormy Monday with Albert King? If you haven't, I would suggest you might really enjoy it.

SRV was my dads favorite artist of all time. We played SRV at his funeral and at a benefit that we had for him. My mom had walked in the bathroom to grab a tissue because this song came on and someone had hung a picture of my dad and it was the first thing she saw when she walked in the bathroom. It brought her a small amount of peace because she felt him there.
