His voice is an automatic leap back to my childhood. Parents were into him, and as a wee lady, I absorbed it by osmosis. I love that voice!

Mine too, have my mamas albums of his and Ray Price
My dad has always loved country music and had a couple of Jim Reeves albums. Every Sunday we listened to whatever my dad played on the stereo and this was one I remember well. Voice smooth as silk.

Jim Reeves was just a natural velvet voice. I'm a Rocker and I love JR. Reminds me of better times
I to grew up listening to Ma& Dads Jim Reeves Records. Moved on to Rock-n-Roll but never forgot That Voice that came from beyond this earth. The overall sound on those records were amazing. Thanks for taking me back to those days.

Same thing for me Greg.
Oh yes! This song takes me back to my parents and that beautiful home they raised me in❤️❤️
At LAST ! A reactor that reacts to REAL music, by a REAL performer ! Keep it up !
Elvis did a beautiful live version of this song on the Aloha from Hawaii special. Jim Reeves is one class act , his voice is so smooth . Gone too soon.
The first records I ever learned how to put on the player by myself around the first or second grade were Burl Ives and Jim Reeves back in the late 60's.
Oh Harri i remember this !!! I have to thank my father for the diversity i have in music starting way back......I appreciate the look back!!!
Never will there ever be another voice so smooth and soothing. My favorite of his is "I love you because"
"I Wont Forget You" is one of my favourites of Jim Reeves
When I was a child in the late 60s and early 70s I listened to my parents country music but the two voices that always caught my attention were Patsy Cline and Jim Reeves. Their voices did not sound like the traditional country music voices of other artist of that time. So smooth and relaxing.keep em coming Sir.
Love, love Jim Reeves. I have almost all of his records. Still playing them today. Thank you for the memories.
Dean Martin does a great version. With Dean's, one imagines that Dean is serenading a young beautiful woman, inviting her into his life. His version is also smooth, mesmerizing. Truly worth a listen.

Deans version equal. Only one who could cover Jim Deans By the time I get to Phoenix also great cover.
Did have a Great Time!
Many Americans, even country music fans, no longer remember Jim Reeves. So, it is wonderful to see his talent bringing joy to someone so far away.
The best concerts are happening in Heaven as so many wonderful artists are there. Good choice. 👍
Other great voices in Country Ray Price, Eddy Arnold, Freddie Hart, Sonny James, The Statler Brothers, Bobby Goldsboro, Dickey Lee. I could go on & on. Doesn't matter, male or female singers. All have great voice. You should listen to Eddie Arnold sing "A Cowboy" A cool story song that most people have forgotten. Also Marty Robbins "The Chair" l get chills from this song. Anybody out there remember this one from 1971-72??? Not the same song that George Straight sings.
Heavenly . So deeply touching . So human . Lovely on so many levels . Utterly transporting .
Jim Reeves is the best singer
One of my favorite songs by Jim Reeves
JIm Reeves is my all-time favorite singer. Love him. His singing has had a dramatic effect on my life. Its hard to explain. Thanks for doing this on Jim.

He has one of the most beautiful singing voices GOD ever gave a human being.
You KNOW great music, Guy!!!!
Jim Reeves is one of my all time favorites! Such a smooth voice!
To me: This song always represented the thoughts and wishes of someone who has passed, they are waiting in Heaven, and they are waiting for a loved one to cross over and welcome them to their Heavenly world.
The Country Gentleman Jim Reeves R.I.P.
Sir Gentleman Jim Reeves music and songs was so soothing touching and had so much sense and meaning that God gave him a great voice to go with it.No one will lake his place They won’t beat him , Please listen to all his songs. The next one will be better than the one you heard just nowI am in my 70s now and have been a Sir Gentleman Jim Reeves fan since age of five, and will be a fan till the day I die. I just can’t get enough of him. Me and my twin are from Australia, and have been to Nashville, and Texes as well as Carthage his resting place, just to see everything of Sir Gentleman Jim Reeves. He, gives us so much joy enjoying his music and his songs. People don’t know what they are missing, till you listen to him, He, will be 100 years old on the 20th of August, 2023. We will be in Carthage again then and looking forward to it, can’t wait for that day. Bless his heart.
Golden voice of Jim Reeves will NEVER be forgotten. Please do the song GUILTY
So amazing, I hear these opening strings and the emotions gush through my system, and I can smell the vinyl as I take the record out of the sleeve, and I can smell the heat the tubes in my old mans big oak console RCA stereo put out as I bend over the turntable to carefully place the record down and put the needle on the record all under his watchful eye making sure I don't make a mistake and scratch it or I'll be knocked around a bit, and then those huge RCA speakers fill up the room with that Nashville sound and he will sit back in his giant chair and close his eyes and relax and the house is at ease again. All the senses in my minds memory bring it all back like it was yesterday.
Great voice. Grew up hearing this guy's songs...Glad you're listening to our Country legends, along with the rock tunes. And here's a suggestion: Slim Whitman. You Brits had Frank Ifield doing "I remember You." Well, I grew up hearing Slim do that very same song. I must say--I like Frank's version best. Back to Reeves now...You might want to check out Eddy Arnold. He's that singer who made the "western yodeling" a thing.
That is just beautiful ! What more can you say . Impossible to decide who had the smoothest voice . Jim or Nat King Cole .?? Can't separate them..!
Another great selection from "Gentlemen Jim " 🎶🎶
Gentleman Jim Reeves was so smooth
Your enthusiasm and selection bring me much joy ! Thank you Sir !
Have a listen to his delivery of the song Maureen. Just beautiful.👍🍀😁
Jim Reeves was buried in Carthage Texas with his dog. One of kind voice.
You are on a roll with great music.
One of my favorite Gentleman Jim tunes is Goodnight Irene. I know a lot of artists have done that song but I love his version.
My wife had this exact song played for our Wedding Dance.
Listen to when two worlds collide .you will love iy t.
Wow I just realized this song is about Jesus and entering heaven with the bible quote knock and the door will open. Beautiful
Harri you are the Best. Wonderful reaction to a marvelous song. You really felt it. Cheers.
One word- Class!
Harry, your the best. My mom was totally in love with Jim Reeves when I was a young kid just coming to love music. Of course we didn't tell daddy lol. There is a song by Jim that I loved, it was called The Blizzard of course I loved it because it had a horse in the song. Anyway I would love to see your reaction to this song. You are the best Harry!
I grew up hearing this voice
My wife was a close friend of his widow, Pat.
My dad played guitar and he sang all the Jim Reeves songs. I know all the words. Thanks for the memories Harri ☮️♥️🙏🏼
Gentleman Jim Reeves aka The Velvet Voice
grew up on Jim Reeves
Harri, Jim recorded many beautiful songs. "He'll Have To Go" was his biggest hit. Personally, I love "This Is It", "Is It Really Over", "The Blue Side of Lonesome", and I could go on and on. I have every song he ever recorded and I treasure them. Please play more of Jim's songs and give your reaction. Thanks.
Here is a live performance of Jim singing FOUR WALLS
love this song Jim is still my fav voice of all time maybe some day you will do Angels Don't Lie and Penny Candy wish I could have seen him in person sadly I was still a young kid when he die and he had some of Nashvilles best musicians playing for him as well that may be the late Chet Atkins on guitar
Thank you. Jim Reeves and Marty Robbins were two of my dads favorite artists .If you enjoy Jim Reeves you would probably enjoy Don Williams. A very deep smooth voice as well. I recommend his songs "Your my best Friend' and "Good ole Boys Like Me. " to start with.
I saw him in 1964 three and a half months before his death. He was much better live than on record. Believe it or not.
I've been a huge reeves fan for over 40yrs. A few years ago a company called BEAR FAMILY RECORDS realised all his music but they cleaned up the original tapes and squeezed as much detail as they could and blood hell what a difference. I have the 16 cd box set with a huge booklet with many never published photo's of Jim and the blue boys. Happy listening my friend❤️❤️👍

I have both Bear Family released. The first one has 4 cds and the other what you described. I’ve loved Jim’s voice and although he sang such heartbreaking songs, which were the trend in country music at that time, it’s the unmatchable magic of his voice that made any song he sang, so listenable. Glad to come across this post

@@brandonrozairo3470 Hearing Jim sing on an LP especially a good quality LP is a wonderful listening experience. To hear him on a cd that's been professionally cleaned up to the point you can hear his lips basically touching the mic just brings me even closer to the man's voice. Nearly 60yrs since he died and his music is still drawing new listener's. ❤️👍
I grew up on this starting in the mid 50s.
One of my favorite songs. Thanks for reacting to it!! ✌♥️
Jim used the microphone better than anyone else in country music at the time. Most of his counterparts, Hank Williams is a great example, had these big, strong voices acquired by singing in honky tonks or on the back of flatbed trucks at fairs and so forth, sometimes with no PA system. You can see how Jim adapted to the improving electronics by becoming one of the original country crooners. Just before he died, Jim showed his wife a shelf of completed studio audio tapes in his basement. He told her, "Honey, if something happens, this is my life insurance policy." And it was. After he was killed, several successful posthumous Jim Reeves records were released.
I knew the song as soon as I saw the post I was singing the title line to myself " Welcome to My World :" Great Harri. Try Distant Drums by Jum Reeves
They used to name him Gentleman Jim my dad had this played at his funeral....
His song "he'll have to go" is probably my favorite song of all time,he has a song on his greatest hits album called "billy bayou" you should check out Harri,it's an upbeat funny tune, thanks for reacting to gentleman Jim Reeves.
You said in another reaction that you wanted to hear him live so you might check out Jim at his OSLO concert 1964 "I Love You Because" . Really beautiful.
Him and Ray Price was my mom’s favorite singers
his voice comes so easily. It flows out of his soul into the universe
I cannot listen to this song without crying. It is beautiful. ❤️
Just an incredible singer, such a lovely man. 🥰
jim reeves was dubbed by radio dj 's as.. THE LIVING STEREO
My parents had Jim Reeves records,. I grew listening to him. His voice was beautiful
A memory comes alive....this song playing , my dad and mom....so young and in love.....dancing in the living room.....my brother and I watching wide eyed....they were so in love for 45 years....I miss them so.
Welcome to my world was the last song Jim Reeves recorded before his death in 1964.
Makes me think of my tour in Germany in 66, the song was very popular there at that time, German singers were even covering the song, I had to laugh at their "Velcome to my Verld" version;)
They called him "the velvet voice".
Haven’t seen anyone react to the great Johnny Rivers yet. What a shame! Pick a song, ANY song and you’ll want to fall into that rabbit hole!

Rivers was a unique voice and a major figure in the recording industry. His L.A. sound permeated the recordings of Glen Campbell, the 5th Dimension, and introduced the world to the songs of Jimmy Webb. I think he deserves a place in the HOF.

It just takes you away to a quiet place. Love it.glad you lov music as i do! Every song reminds me of a time and place. As if i was there again.. ah..music!! Dan,north florida. Usa.-8/31/21
I am embarrassed to say that I have never heard the name “Jim Reeves” until now. I have heard this song, but always kind of thought it was Rick Nelson, although upon listening more carefully, it doesn’t sound that much like him. Oh well, my bad. I’m glad to have you set the record straight. His voice is very beautiful! Nice. 🌺✌️
Harri, great reaction to a great voice, in a similar setting, how about PERRY COMO with a KRIS KRISTOFFERSON song "And I Love Her So" , absolutely mesmerising. Take care kid.
Eddy Arnold and Jim Reeves had the smoothest voices ever. If I had to pick (it's tough), I would have to give the edge to Eddy Arnold. I would like to see how Jim Reeves would have evolved if he had lived longer due to his life being cut short from the plane accident - so sad. Love Jim Reeves - what a voice!
I think Eddie Arnold also recorded this song in the late 50s.
My late husband dubbed this song over the home video he made when the first grandchild was born! His voice is pure velvet and the sentiments of this Jim Reeves song are beautiful. Never stop gushing Harri.

My daughter and son played this song when I went to visit them in their new homes. It gained added significance for the words came alive. Love it
Harri, he and Patsy Cline also did a version of this together.
Harri, Harri, Harri you're digging back into my childhood. I remember singing parts of this song as a youngster and still quote, "welcome to my world..."
A once in a lifetime voice
Try Jim Reeves The Blizzard
JIM REEVES - BIMBO CUTE SONG ABOUT A LITTLE BOY.
Mr Velvet. My mom's favorite. I listen to him all day on her birthday as my tribute to her. The Intimate Jim Reeves was her favorite album. All great songs on that one.
Ray Price and Eddy Arnold are from that same time. I bet your parents listened to them also. These 3 are my all time favorites!!

Jim called his style of singing LAZY lol just LAZY🍀❤️🍀👍
My wedding song….
Niiice!!!! I'm gonna cover that song
Gentlemen Jim 1:07
"The Blizzard", "Never Grow Old", "My Cathedral", are some of his his best!!!😀
They called Jim Reeves the man with the velvet voice. It's a really good description.
This was the Patsy Cline Era. In fact, I believe that a record company produced a recording years ago where Jim Reeves ' sang ' with Patsy Cline digitally, even though it never actually happened.
I was 18 when Jim died in the plane crash. A friend and I went to his funeral in Carthage, TX. Thousands of people were there. I often stop at the memorial where Jim is buried. Jim's wife, Mary, is buried there, too. And Jim's dog. Beautiful statue of Jim marking the grave.
Eddy Arnold ,Turn The World Around.
Elvis also does a great cover of this song what I love about Jim Reeves is he’s pure country
You should listen to Eddy Arnold.... Make the world go away.
Anita Kerr and her arrangements w/ his music: also a big plus. That's the Anita Kerr singers as the female backing, and Anita's voice is the lone solo female that jumps in occasionally.

One of my Dads favorites. Eddy Arnold was another.
