First Time Hearing HOME FREE "Cam - Mayday" Reaction

Ойын-сауық

THEY DID THIS???
My First Time Reaction to Home Free covering Cam Mayday and this was so different to what I have seen so far of Home Free! Home Free are known for putting their country spin on some classics but with this cover song they came in at much higher notes and blew me away! This is my first time reaction to Home Free Mayday

Hello, I'm 1 of your random LoL reaction fans here. I was wondering if you're going to do more LoL reactions. Would recommend the last 3 K/DA songs - Drum Go Dum - I'll Show You - The Baddest or perhaps - RISE (ft. The Glitch Mob, Mako, and The Word Alive) It's my personal favorite song, very good for fitness too.

The reason it's suggested by most of the Homefries that a reactor waits for a good while before reacting to this particular song is so that they get a chance to know the voices in the group, so they understand what they can typically expect from each member. Then comes along Mayday and completely shatters those expectations. This was one of the first times most people got to hear Tim sing in the higher register like this, and it shocked quite a few people to hear just how high he can get. ( though we know he can get a good bit higher yet now ) Then you have Chance come in and just KILL the bass. Which, had most of us remembered where he started, should have come as no surprise. He was the bass for a group called Streetcorner Symphony. If you go back and watch their Try Everything video you'll even see Chance wearing their teeshirt still. This cover is stunning for a number of reasons, for sure. And, yes, my opinion meshes with yours as I think this is one of, if not totally, their best.

Hey brother, good to see you back with Home Free. Glad you are appreciating their unique talents. These guys are amazing in person too. My recommendation is to react to one of their more recent covers? About 6 weeks old now...a cover of the Doobie Brothers 1972 megahit "Listen to the music" ...you WILL chair dance...guaranteed. No one can stay still to it. You'll love it as the beatboxer shines...you gotta react to that !!!

Great reaction to another great song by Home Free! The original was by Cam, a soprano, and this was done in the same key she used. I particularly love the mashup at the end - that’s all Home Free - and Austin’s extensions at the end of his solos were awesome. Chance was the bass in his last group. Tim (the usual bass) has joked on stage that they were lucky Chance joined them and not PTX. Home Fries say they don’t do covers - they do UPGRADES, and it’s so true! You need to check out their cover of End of the Road. Rob is fantastic as the lead. And you should do yourself a huge favor and check out Austin in When a Man Loves a Woman!

This song is one of my favorites. We usually ask reactors to wait to react to this song till they are familiar with the individual members. Then they are surprised at hearing the switch ups in the voices. Tim who is known for his bass can sing in a beautiful higher tenor voice along with Austin & Rob. And Chance can hit the lower bass notes when needed. Adam did a fabulous job as always with his vocal percussion. The original song is sung by a woman Cam, so they sung it in a higher key to match the original range.

The original to this is done by a female named Cam & Home Free did it in the same key that she did...Tim stayed in that tenor the whole song...Chance covered the bass...us Home Fries love to watch reactors as they listen to this & get the shock of their lives after thinking they know all about Home Free...so glad you enjoyed it...thank you for your awesome reaction.

The original by Cam is awesome, but this puts in a new level to the song. I would like to hear them do a version of her song Burning House (it a heavier lyric). Since you seems to have an affinity for all types of music, Austin Brown released a stripped down version of Bring Him Home from Les Miserables; showing off his vocal range.

I highly suggest the following:”End of the Road”, a Rob lead, and he’s at his soulful best. “I Can’t Outrun You”, Chance lead, pure 5 part harmony, and Chance directed the video. It’s hauntingly beautiful. “Champagne Taste ( on a beer budget), a humorous song written by Tim, and he has the lead. “When a Man Loves a Woman”, Austin lead, and the backing vocals and percussion are stellar.

Besides Tim going up in his range and Chance going down in his, I think the underlying feeling of "different" in this arrangement is that they are singing in a higher key than they normally do. Most people are shocked by Tim singing so high in the beginning and then Chance's bass at the end. The guys are front row left to right Rob Lundquist lead tenor, Tim Foust bass and Austin Brown sky high tenor. Back row left to right Adam Rupp beatboxer and Adam Chance (Chance) baritone. I have 3 HF recommendations: Champagne Taste On A Beer Budget, which is one of their original songs, not a cover, All About That Bass and also Guilty Pleasures, which is more of a skit than a song, it’s something they used to do on tour shows so it’s recordings on phones but really funny

I think the reason they recommended you wait a while until you get to know the singers better, wasn't just because it was a strong performance, nor just because they swapped Adam Chance into the bass part, but perhaps mostly becaue Tim Foust, that subterranean singer who can stand toe to toe with Geoff Castellucci of VoicePlay or Avi Kaplan, formerly of Pentatonix, Tim sang that high part in the opening. Fans had jaws hitting the floor when he opened up there and then stayed up there for the entire song. I mean not just bricks, but other assorted masonry as well, plus the tools, dropped simultaneously out of millions of fans' collective backsides at that one. Tim on tenor?! And never did drop down to bass for the entirety of the song, just said, "Here, you take this one, Chance." Amazing!

I might be very darn wrong, but in the music video of CAM, it looked like CAM told the story of Emilia Ehrhardt´s end of live. Flying against all advise and finding death.

What is incredible about this cover by five men is that they are singing in the same key as the original female artist. Nuff said.

Was waiting for the penny to drop, and there it was on Chance's superb bass drop. Go back and listen to the percussion just before that. Adam Rupp at his syncopated best. Stunning. We always say Pentatonix, Voiceplay and Home Free do not do covers, they do upgrades.

Another thing that takes a couple watches to notice is the clap sounds. No one is clapping so your brain just thinks they did a clap track but didn't clap in the video. But watch Adam (beatboxer). He tends to move his hands while making his sounds. If you watch him, you will notice that every time it sounds like a single loud clap, he is gesturing in a specific way. So...he is making the sound! It's not until later in the song when the claps speed up that I think they may have used a clap track. But with these guys you can't be sure!

You need to listen to "When a Man Loves a Woman" by Home Free and also "American Pie" a cover that includes the original artist and was his idea for a 50 year update and it improves the song that is and was a total classic.

PLEASE learn their names, and why Mayday is shocking. You needed to know that Tim Foust usually sings very low, and even blows out speakers, but has a five-octave range; it is not surprising that Austin Brown sings so high on this song, as he usually does. He's their high tenor. Rob Lundquist is their classic tenor, and has an amazing, smooth voice. Chance (Adam Chance) startled everyone with his low notes, but he was a Bass for the last group he sang with. Finally, Adam Rupp, the beatboxer, is mind-boggling. He can do anything. Period. If you learn their names, you won't have to call them "this guy" or "the guy in the plaid shirt." You obviously love them, as do we home fries. I would recommend Skull and Bones (written by Chance), Listen to the Music, and Never Gonna Give You Up (another funny one, because you loved Butts Medley). You are going to continue to love this group, and give very great reactions. Thank you!

Yes, you are overbearing, I’m not in love, I don’t want to tell you. Mayday is a distress signal usually for ships/planes. He’s crying out Mayday…but she can’t hear it. I love this song. The big switcheroo is that Tim (who started the song) is the BASS and can sing that high! He’s got that 5 octave range and was using it here. And Chance (in the back) is the baritone and was doing the bass! He can do bass though, just not as low as Tim. But it’s fun hearing Tim go high. This is a cover from a song by Cam (a female country artist). Love it. Great reaction G.O.T.! If you want to hear Tim at some of his lowest notes try the incredible Brothers in Arms. He’s amazing. Also Helplessly Hoping, In the Blood, What We Ain’t Got, Brother, Yours, I Can’t Outrun You to hear lots of bass from Chance/Tim. Have a great week. 🥰😍
